Just popped by to say my xvostick is behaving perfectly (yay!!) and has a new friend whose a lot bigger (but doesn't turn up for the party late, in fact sprinted from the USA in 3 working days).
xvo radius.jpg

The xvo does make everything else seem massive - it is so cute!
A quick question - it says the max. ohm for the dna40 is 2. Why is this? - will it damage the xvo if I use a higher ohm?

I believe 2 ohms is the max resistance that can deliver 40 watts.

I have never vaped a carto, that needs to change! :)

+1 for me! Cartos were before my time (lol - this industry moves so fast!) but the nostalgic posts by many members certainly has me intrigued.

I've also chickened out probbably at least 5 times on getting an Origenny to give mesh&gennies a go ... one day ... one day

Woofs, I hope you do at some point try out some kartos. It will be QUITE a different vape for you, but they were FINE, honestly. A little more milk-shakey than most of us like at this point, but definitely viable vapes!

Maybe, KD ... Maybe!

Don't mind if I derail the thread for a moment ....

I see the carto punch there. So if I piece together the bits of carto vaping that I remember...

If I just go with the carto then its kind of like dripping ... but a few drop at a time?

If I get the carto punch, I can also get one of them weird looking carto tanks, and the carto becomes like a drop in coil? How leak resistant are these set ups?

I've been trying to find a drop in solution for when I can't rebuild. The problem is I haven't been able to find a clearo to my liking. These seem like they'd be a bit more customizable, and a milk-shakey vape sounds up my alley ... I love a dense vape

A carto with no holes is just filled and vaped - as you use the juice you just top it up with more. The tank gives a reservoir of juice to feed the carto through holes. You can punch your own or buy pre-punched. They are very leak resistant (providing the tank is properly sealed).
They are good - but you need patience. You have to prime properly - and that means really saturating - particularly the ones that are packed tighter. I also find that you need to slowly raise the power to start with - and most important you need a mod with good airflow otherwise the draw is really tight. For example, I find the draw on my provari mini (the original one with no air channels) is usually too tight. I have a (very old) Innokin Coolfire 1 which is perfect after I've started the carto off at a lower wattage as it has airholes around the top (the coolfire 1 is 8.5 fixed). Once set up they don't need any more tinkering and last me months (but I do vape high PG/ unflavoured (or very low flavour) which may make a difference).
Until I got the Kabuki - carto tanks were my 'go to' when I just needed something which was faff free, didn't leak, didn't gurgle and just worked. The Kabuki is better - doesn't need the prep time and does give a better vape - but I still have a carto tank on the go at all times - tend to use for higher nic when I'm really busy and just need a quick hit.

I have a big soft spot for carto tanks - when I started vaping almost 3 years ago they were pretty old school but I loved them from the start - and they are the only thing I still use from that time. The Kabuki is the best non-rebuildable on the market at the moment in my opinion (by a long way) - but until I got that the carto tank was my hassle free favourite. Not for cloud chasers - definitely a tootle puff ;)

So....

I've been looking at the AzenoBox (not buying, just looking), and there was something about it that I just couldn't put my finger on. Then it hit me.

With no intention to offend anyone at all, removing the Seatbelt section and replacing it with a regular top is tantamount to putting a burka on Rihanna (or whomever...).

I'm sure it's a fine device, and its users will be pleased, but man - what a loss. It also made me realize exactly how sweet the Xvo's are. While a vaporizer could never be considered "sexy", it's about as close as one could come to the term.

Carry on. :)

I do believe that you may have caused Tootle Puffer Kween, formerly known as Karto Kween, to break down and cry happy tears. :D

Absolutly right....in the picture which has both of them in it...it's just so overshadowed in looks/convenience by the Xvostick next to it....hence my  reaction to this mod.
It seems "wrong" somehow...but couldn't tell you why...just a feeling "this is not what it's supposed to be" or something (yes I CAN be vague :D)

I wouldn't go for it...only reason to choose it over the Xvostick is the price point thingee, so if one is looking for a "normal" DNA40 of relative small size...yea I can see it, just not for me.

Or covering Jennifer Aniston with a burlap bag. What I'd like to see is a Yihi SX350 or SX350J chip in the Xvostick, but I'm no modder, and I'm not holding my breath.

Based on photos only there are many mods I'd have to consider along with the AzenoBox and I doubt the Azeno would be my ultimate choice. The Xvo has no competitors and nothing compares visually, easy choice.

I wonder why new models are being introduced when nearly everything is always out of stock. :(

VERY well stated, Jonner. And much more PC than I was. Burlap & Aniston trumps Burka & Ri-Ri, yes it does.

I wouldn't mind a Yihi, but I wouldn't purchase another just for that. I liked the ones I had with that chip, but it wasn't a dealbreaker for me. If I was buying new though, and had an option, I'd probably opt for the Yihi.

A valid question for sure, Woofer. And I agree that the Xvo stands alone. Truly.

I read (somewhere) mini post their reason for that. It was in response to a customer complaining that mini lied to them about stock. The gist of it was that they do that to allow a buffer in their production lead time in case parts are delayed. Their primary reason being that they ship direct from factory and as such do not keep finished product on hand... Instead shipping after the entire batch is completed.

ETA: There was also mention that this helps cut down on their canceled orders
