About six weeks back I was just crawling out of newbie to apprentice level IMHO. I didn't know any better about making double batches - one to vape and one to steep. Today my first five 30 ml bottles have steeped for a month and the second batches have begun steeping.

Steeping is really important. I have Double RY4, Black Honey TB, 555, Boba's Clone and Yamakin Limrum all steeped for a month and I am a happy camper! I love tobacco juices with a sweet juice to break things up. Now I can vape while working on Cowboy, Desert Ship, Tuscan Reserve, Dunhill and Gorilla Clone recipes.

There is no way I'd be enjoying all these recipes without the help of all you folks here on the DIY Forum. Thanks folks. :)

Hey boomerdude! I bet you're in vaping heaven right about now! You helped me out a lot on my question, so here's another one for ya.. do you really have to steep that long? I ordered all my stuff today.. by the end of next week I should be looking like a real lab rat! (well, I do work in a hospital lab, so it's not much of a stretch!) Does it really change the flavors that much? I don't think I can wait that long! Maybe if I do a big enough batch (assuming I can make a juice I actually like!) some of it will sit long enough to be "steeped".. I'm awfully grateful for all the peeps here,, so much help and I would never have gotten the courage to make my own stuff without all the kind folks willing to share. I'll take your advice and do double batches when I hit upon something I like.. many thanks!

Well I'll just turn this thread over to MattBott since he wants to answer questions specifically directed to the OP. Net etiquette? Anyone? Bueller?

Seriously though, luvinit, some folks say that you can flash steep in hot water. Some say an ultrasonic cleaner works to fast steep. I've tried both and in my experience time works best. I just loaded up some Black Honey TB that's been steeping for almost 30 days and I can tell it needs another week or so. After you mix for awhile you'll see the difference. There are flowery and grassy tastes that go away when a mix is steeped properly. This BH TB I mentioned still has just a hint of grass from the 2 drops of Tobacco Absolute I used. Should be gone soon with more shaking and steeping.

Thanks boomer... I've tried the hot water thing. Can't say I noticed much of a difference in anything. Maybe it's just me.. I'm pretty much either I like it or I don't. Even some Gandalf and other HHV tobacco's that I've had hanging around for a few months still taste the same to me.. yup, pretty sure it's just me! And by the way, HHV's tobaccos are the ONLY ones I've ever found that taste even remotely like my old Marb Lights... perfect with an ice cold beer (I can't wait for summer!)

And I appreciate everyone's comments... I'm sure nobody meant any disrespect ;)

After receiving a couple of private messages, it seems I came off a little high handed in my post about MattBot jumping the thread. After a re-read I would have to agree that it did not come off as funny as I thought. My apologies to MattBot if I offended. The thread is open to everybody and if they want to give advise all the better.

I'm in heaven. RY4, 555, Black Honey, Boba's Clone - all 30 mls with another 30 steeping for next month. Also working on Dunhill, Cowboy, Tuscan Reserve and Desert Ship. Ordering General TB, Red, DJRum and English TB. Double 30 ml bottles of the successful ones and 3 or 6 ml bottles for the tests. Lot of bottles and a lot of steeping going on. Someone suggested Toasted Almond mixed with Hickory Smoked. No one was more surprised than me when it worked. Who knew? On the other hand Pistachio and Spearmint - not so much! Keep on steeping folks.
