Looks like goodprophets has a sale right now. TPA flavoring, 30ml for 4.99.

Thanks lox. I need all the help I can get!

Yeah I just loaded up ;)
I like his nicotine too - it's 36mg and since I use 18 it's easy for me to figure out - if I'm making 30mls just throw 15mls of nic in :p

I just replaced a dead one with one from fasttech that is completely in asian characters. LOL I like to RTFM but it's kind of difficult in this case as I don't want to learn another language.

Is it dangerous to fire a self-built coil on a PV that measures resistance? Maybe... see below.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as long as the PV has short-protection you should be able to fire a new coil on it safely to check resistance. Right?

I believe so but that may fry the pv. Lox.........

I started talking about insurance/docs last night but my migraine got too hardcore for me to look at a screen let alone listen to the clackity-clack-clack-clack of my keyboard.

Obamacare: Ginormous give away to the health insurance companies. Obama gave up on Medicare for all (opting instead to call it the scary sounding "single-payer option") before he even went to the bargaining table with the Republicans. One of the biggest failures of his plan is that it did not address controlling the cost of prescriptions like the VA does. Most other countries stipulate how much their citizens will pay for RX drugs. Things we will pay hundreds of dollars for, Mexico or the UK will sell for $25 or less. Same drug, same manufacturer wildly different prices. It irks me at how much funding these companies receive from our government (i.e. us the tax payers) to develop these meds, and then we are priced gouged by them.

There are some good provisions, like not allowing insurance companies to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions. There are other benefits I don't want to get into because honestly who knows what will really go into effect in 2014 with the republicans trying to repeal the plan on a daily basis, while states choose to opt out and sue the federal government.

Our healthcare system is at the bottom of most of the industrial nations in the world. I have some serious healthcare issues. I ended up hospitalized while employed and insured. The hospital and the insurance company kept pointing their fingers at each other while I far exceeded my out of pocket maximum. The hmo says, "talk to hospital they shouldn't be charging you" the hospital says, "We aren't being paid, YOU are responsible for the bills." During the course of all this I lost my job due to my illness. Long story short, I had to file bankruptcy to get out from under a mountain of medical bills I should not have been responsible for.

The scariest part of moving is knowing I'm going to have to find a new Doctor. Its truly frightening. Most Doctors are drug dealers, others refuse to treat those without insurance, and many sadly are just incompetent. I've finally found a Doc who is smart, cares, and goes above and beyond... he's a rare breed.

Sorry for the rant, I hope you all are having a great morning.

Wow. I go to work for a 6 hour shift and I miss a party and 3 pages of chit chat. Good job on the 30 days Shari. :thumb: That is really great. I didn't smoke today so that makes 2 days for me. I went 9 months in 2010 but then I fell off the wagon. Ah well, water under the bridge. I'm back and that's what counts.

Way to go Queenie

Cool deal! Thanks for the info. The nic seems a bit expensive compared to some other products I've checked out, but the flavors are really reasonable.

Yeah but free shipping offsets it mostly and his nic isn't peppery like some I've tried. Use coupon code tvcfriend for 5% off too.

When you want to tone down or sweeten one of your juices what do you use? I was thinking MBV whipped cream or their sweet cream. Don't know anyone else who has those flavors. Other choices? I have some fruity and coffee juices that may be better with an addition. I don't have caramel either. I think cotton candy or marshmallow may be too sweet. Any thoughts?

No menthol, mints or cool type stuff. I have had several variations of those and do not care for them.

Cotton candy is good to sweeten with, or just ethol maltyl (no idea how it's spelled.) Can cut with plain PG or VG to tone down the flavors or the nic.

I convinced my wife to let me DIY :D. I'm doing research this week on methods, initial equipment needs, nics, bases, etc. Any places you would recommend checking out, or should I just stick to perusing the DIY sub-forum here?

One Stop DIY Shop is good place to check out for supplies and I have also gotten stuff from MyFreedomSmokes like plain PG (which I can't source locally) and either straight Nic, or blended pg/vg/nic that just needs to be flavored. You can get VG at walmart, and gloves are extremely important when you are dealing with nic and in general for sterility.

Depends on the protection (as far as I know) some will error and just not fire like a provari others like ego will trip the circuit and become paper weights.

My Zmax (v3) is supposed to have short protection and read "short" but I've never had that happen. I have seen the low ohm message that pops up at 1.3 ohms or below which says, "low load."

It's so easy to check resistance and only takes a minute - why not do it just to be safe? You can pick up a cheap meter for under $5.00 and if you save just 1 battery it paid for itself ;)

Good point. I have a meter, I just didn't think it was necessary. I tend to check batteries once in a while to make sure they're not putting out over 4.2v when they come off the charger.

Hey everyone, talking DIY and stuff, speaking my language!

Craptastic day at work already, almost time for lunch and no rain in the forecast, going for a top-down drive to clear the cobwebs and come back in a better mood!

    Have a Happy Monday all!!
 DUH! You're the one who should be answering Shari's question then; well, you & Lox:)

If you stop and think about it, all medicine does anymore is treat for symptom relief. Why you have the symptoms, at least in my experience, is rarely addressed. How many times do they ask "why" this or that is happening?

I have asked for medical records as I leave - and the response is defensive. That's kind of revealing. I have to stand and argue, fill out a ton of paperwork, then another stall when they'll be ready plus I have to go in, they won't mail them and they charge for them. I can't just say "for my records". I have to have a reason. A lot of that is because they aren't creating medical records and now they have to, post-appointment. This is why I have to get re-diagnosed every time I go in.

Just putting my 2 cents in here and that's about all it's worth too. lol. How many of the prescriptions are written to alleviate the side effects of the other prescriptions? They seem to have an attitude of "oh don't worry about side effects we can give you something else to take care of that".
I think the medical professionals do have good intentions but have been so brainwashed by big Pharma that the often do more harm than good. I think they truly do believe they are doing the right thing, but I think they do much of what they do because they can, not because they should.
