I usually wait till late at night and go when no one else is there. I have the place pretty much to myself and can shop at my leisure without a crowd and no waiting in line to check out. If I want to chat the employees stocking the shelves are usually more than happy to stop and chat a bit.

With so much multi-media around, there needs to be a list. I never understood why Pbsurado's PSA video was censored. There's a whole thread with some valuable nicotine information that's been deleted. Not just a post, the entire thing. That was a big loss. I play a music association game - am I responsible for every word in a music video? That's why I said I was kaka, along with everyone else who has ever posted a music video.

Yes your responsible for any video (or picture etc.) you post - particularly if someone (trolls) reports your post. I've been told to delete videos that were posted because someone complained and have even had warnings myself for videos I posted (the romantic getaway thread was pretty steamy at times ) I just replaced them with toned down versions.
I'm sure buried in the rules somewhere or tos there's a list - but lets face it no one but trolls read all that stuff anyway. I mean seriously when you signed up for ECF did you actually read all that tos stuff or just click agree?

Lori, good to hear Bill is out of danger for now. That sodium thing is scary. Did dr tell you way to keep up on it at home, or is it a trip to dr all the time. Still a roller coaster. I am sorry.

Aikanae, I have to watch my potty mouth too, even the substitutions I make for those words. So far, so good. And I have read some eyebrow raising stuff on ECF and wonder how some of it gets through. Oh well, it is what it is. Not a sailor, but could have been one in a past life.

And who here has all their body parts working properly and as they should? Now be honest. Thank goodness we are not the standing army for the USA. We would have to think and talk our way through battle!

That was a most beautiful video of the Oregon coast and the crashing of waves on the rocks. I would sit for hours up in San Francisco and watch the waves come in against the rocky shore. It was better than therapy for me. Thank you for sharing that.

Congratulations everyone on making through to another Friday and for some a 3 day weekend. If not for you, demand double time pay!

I didn't even read the ECF for newbies section. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't get a signature for the longest time! I don't read directions for much of anything though.

You're welcome...I can sit and watch the waves crashing for hours, too! There was a time in my life where I would skip out of work once a week or so and go to the beach, sit on the rocks and watch the ocean all day. It really helped me figure out my life and contemplate my future. One thing I can't do though is sleep through it. The waves crashing on the shore makes too much constant noise, lol.

Actually if a mod takes time and edits your post and doesn't delete it - you should take it as a compliment. It's much easier to delete stuff and issue an infraction.
I've actually caught heck for editing posts instead of deleting them and reporting them.

Hello all! Picking snow white cat hair off a black keyboard as I type. What is it with cats and computers? LOL Hope you all had a great day! I am finally home. DD1 has a friend over for the weekend, so they are locked in her room squealing to shake the roof down. I miss those days of being carefree and giggly! {Note, being full of laughs, not jiggly, like I am now!} DD2 is occupied for the moment with a cartoon and a chocolate muffin that dd1 kindly baked today. Love them both to pieces, but I am blessedly alone. I turned OFF my cell phone. There is nobody screaming in my ear about a letter or a phone call they got/didn't get/didn't know they got. There is silence and cool air.

Well I guess one of the things that upset me was giving the impression there was anything vulgar, foul or whatever in what I posted. I didn't have a clue a word was censored because it's quite common, refers to a specific tangible object (usually in the lawn or on your shoe), and not something I usually have a need to say in a post = didn't know. Although, now that I think about it, previously I may have referred to Lutafisk tasting like dog poo in our discussion of yucky food.

And the music video reference was real. 90% of that thread might have something objectionable in it, again, it's fairly ordinary and harmless since they all are taken from G rated You Tube. It would put a huge squash on that type of fun. Now I've been on story threads (add a line) that have momentarily degenerated into some pretty crude teenage humor. Some of the comments and pics on the boob thread were questionable. And that stuff happens. I don't have to participate and there's more important things to worry about.

The past 48 hours has been exciting when it comes to censorship so this was hard to separate out. Seeing a thread disappear took me by surprise and I know the reason now, but it's something I had no idea existed and there are other threads that mention the same thing all over the place. ECF would loose almost the entire DIY section if the same rules were applied evenly.

I tend to assume anyone reading here is 18 years old + due to the nature of the forum. I don't want to step on toes and I'm sure no one wants to see me do that either. I have moderated a forum before. A lot of the language blocked was because it's words commonly used in anger. That's the red flag. Outside of that context, there was room for discretion and from what I've observed, ECF backs mods, which is the way it should be. When there were complaints, mods ruled. Not the complainers. Give some of them a word, and they'll take half the english language and still won't be satisfied. That's why I said your feeding the trolls. It's not fair to everyone else, the majority, to feel like they have to walk on eggshells due to a handful of trolls.

So, we have a troll in our midst.

First of all I'm not really sure why your taking exception here. Rules ARE enforced equally - there's just not enough mods to read everything posted on ECF. it's like speeding - some people get away with it others get pulled over and ticketed. I don't have time to read everything posted in pif - but I DO skim every thread every day. If something violates rules and I see it I delete it. If its a recurring problem I'll pm the person a warning to knock it off.
My post concerning trolls was responding to Uncle explaining to people why some people seem to be singled out more than others - it's usually because they have a troll stalking them just looking for a reason to report them. Once someone complains and the mods step in the rules are enforced (whether I like you or not and my dear friend Uncle can attest to this)
Are there trolls on pif? You betcha. Do you yourself have a troll? I honestly don't know but I can tell you had the post I deleted been reported you'd have received a pm from an ECF mod.
I'm just trying to be helpful here and I really don't get why your having an issue here. I'm just a mod and owner of this (pif) forum and anything outside of pif I honestly don't concern myself with as I have no control over it.
I can tell you that ECF mods do peruse pif and really all your doing right now is drawing attention to a deleted post. That I deleted by the way to keep you out of trouble.
So am I missing something?

That thread is hysterical! It started back in June and I've read every post. It goes dormant for a while and then reappears. Those Englishmen have such a grand sense of humor.
