I have three of those, I've used them forever, my hubby was paraplegic and he had one when we met in 1970/ I can't imagine living without the good reacher grabber. Actually I use it most often to get leaves out of the pond, it's great for that.

I never thought of that!

   Yes it is!
Ah, come on ... ya' gotta laugh!

I do, they are little tyrants that have me trained. My baby Rambo, when he was a puppy I had taken him out, a huge pit bull comes running down the street picks him up in his mouth and starts to throw his head back and forth. I had just gotten out of the hospital with the beginning of my ills, but was still mostly walking. I kicked that dog so hard to get my Rambo Back. The poor dog was shocked and I walked away. The owner saw me do it and asked me why I kicked his dog so hard. I just gave him a look. I had pit bulls and they are wonderful dogs, if they live with the right family and they are trained properly. Apparently he didn't get that news bulletin.
Rambo hates big dogs now, but will protect me and his much smaller brother. By the way Rambo weighs all of 12 lbs and Rocky his brother around 4 lbs. In the house that 4 lb boy rules the roost. Outside he is smart enough to let his brother take care of things. They are adorable together and never fight. My babies.

I think that is the one I found and tried reading for a few hours before I found ECF. I had to take a shower after that experience. Hard to find any information that was useful. Lox, the dumpster behind the donut shop was you being kind. I may have a potty mouth but they were way, way out of my league.

Oh I can weave a web of profanity that would make your head spin  but yeah it's scary over there

So I read the other day that people that use a lot of expletives tend to be more honest. If that's true Abe Lincoln has nothing on me :p

My father always told me as a little girl that the only people who swore were people who were not intelligent enough to express themselves properly. Sometimes though, nothing beats the right word or phrase. I have greatly strayed from his teachings many a time.

That's what my grandmother used to say too but like you I think there are some situations that can only be addressed properly with profanity. :)

I don't know for sure, but I have been reading bits and pieces of other threads and I just seem to feel comfortable here. No one is set on trashing each other or trying to outdo the next person. Seems we are all pretty much here to enjoy each other and pass on tidbits of info or a story on occasion. I feel welcome and at home here. I don't see many other threads like that. I also like that no one seems to be pushing a particular product or idea to the exclusion of other methods or squashing another's creativity (or lack thereof, in my case).

We can change the topic at the drop of the hat. We stand together to support each other. Rare in today's world and amongst a community of strangers.

I agree with you Lori. This is a special place.

My father always said people used profanity because they lacked vocabulary and couldn't think of the proper words to express themselves.
But sometimes the F word seems like the proper word to me :p
