Not the year, silly. Most people probably wouldn't believe us anyway, or they can't imagine that far back. Just the month and day. Me: June 4, 19**.

Yep. We are both Gemini after all. ;)

Uh Oh make that 3 of us. 5/30/1948, see I'm not afraid to tell the year. And Shari you being Aries explains a LOT, hehehehehe. I have just a teeny bit of experience with Aries, like My late hubby and my daughter and Cliff's dad. Oh my Aries the ram.... lower their heads and CHARGEEEEEEEEEEE.
Morning Jess!

Morning FQ, but didn't they have fun! :)

Good morning everyone. It looks as if there was quite the party here after I went to sleep. :)
Has anyone else noticed that some of our banners did NOT advance like they should have, I know mine didn't, it should say 16 days not 15 and Shari I'd swear yours said 1 month 19 days all day yesterday too. Going to have to check this out.

I've forgotten what else I was going to comment on, lol, that's what happens when you get old. LOL

I don't understand the steeping process. How long can it take for flavorings to meld with nic, pg and/or vg? I can see maybe tobacco extracts maybe. It is talked about like fine wine or scotch or aged whiskey. It is a few flavorings.

I'm not a pro at this, but this is my take. I think it depends on the flavoring concentrates used. Alcohol based flavors do benefit from leaving the cap off 24-48 hours to allow it to evaporate. Longer for more volume of juice. tobacco's definatley benefit from steeping anywhere from a week to months. I'm sure that varies with the flavoring too, net, absolute, pg/vg concentrate. Generally speaking, other flavors don't benefit from steeping (assuming they were in the mail a few days to mix) but there's always an exception to every rule - except :censored: words.

Bianca,

To me it is a little like thinking about your first love (unless you married him). You always will occasionally think back and think about him fondly and forget the bad times. But if you truly think about it, you are probably better off where you are today.

Maybe you should go and get yourself a new juice to try, switch it up a little. Sometimes boredom and routine can trigger an urge in me. Just thoughts, I don't know if they are bad. They just are. I think about what I choose to do with them. I know I do not think of cigarettes for days at a time now. At first it was minutes, then hours. Hopefully it will grow to months. This is coming from someone who has only been vaping about 6 weeks, ending a 2 pad 45 year love/hate affair with cigarettes.

This is what I love about this thread and pif. You have no idea who B is yet you give her a warm welcome and offer her words of kindness, advice and support :thumb: what a wonderful group we have assembled here :)

For those of you who haven't had the privilege of meeting her before she's a former pif mod (real life got in the way and she had to give it up - family comes first and she's raising an adorable little girl) and was the first true friend and mentor I met on ECF. She is the kindest most sincere person I've ever met. With her non-judgmental advice and understanding - She has (and still does) helped more people get into vaping than you could ever imagine. She struggled too just like all of us and I'm very happy to say that although it was a hard fight she's been smoke free for over 2 years :toast: She's everything good in the world all rolled into one :) she's always been there for me like a sister  and even though she couldn't actually make my wedding due to unfortunate health issues - I still consider her as my "best man"
So thank you for welcoming not just her but all the others who've come here seeking help :)
You guys rock :thumb:

I am being good. I had another piece of sushi and am making another cup of tea. No cookie, no credit card. And it is the first of September, so I am going to see how long I can last. I think I can make it the month. I just got those flavorings and I traded for a bunch of different juices and I bought 2 30ml bottles of NLV Renegade so I should be fine this month. I now have my 2 original spinners and 2 new blue winders so something will always be charged, even if I forget to charge one. So I am set for now. I just can not click ANY links or look at anything interesting.

I think for some of us (i.e. me), getting vapemail is part of what keeps us vapinng. That's one of the reasons I want to DIY. I think that's cheaper than new mods, tanks, tips, etc. I'm really glad you got some flavors. Now you need to get a little pg and vg to help adjust them and next thing you know, you'll be ordering unflavored (cheapest ejuice around).

I was getting a scratchy throat last night (seasonal allergies) and vaped nic in unflavored pg. That was soothing. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from flavors. I added it to a clearo that had seen several tanks of thick, dark juice without cleaning and it cleaned it up as well. It's not the same as washing, but this is a cheap $1 disposable bauway clearo. BTW: those are tough little clearo's if you can get your hands on them.

Mr. Wizard predicts you'll be ordering unflavored nic soon too. But then he also named your kitty, Toto.

You know, I bet if I stayed off ECF I would not spend any money until Thanksgiving.

You wouldn't see your banner climb everday and this isn't exactly a "deals" thread unless it's asked for or a known interest. Staying away from group buys might save money too, but you'd be sacrificing things you might actually need like batteries.

Naw. Bad idea. :vapor:

I really didn't intend on getting into DIY it just happened. I bought so much juice I didn't like (I cleaned out my stash a little over a year ago and sent a 7lb  box of juice I didn't like to a pif member who distributed it to needy pif'ers) and had so much inconsistency from vendors juices I just got sick of gambling. It's actually easier than you think and I enjoy mixing - just wish I had more time. The easiest way is just buy a 30ml bottle of 36mg pg and a 30ml bottle of plain vg - mix them and you have 60mls of an 18mg base. If you mix your flavorings in at 20% you'll end up with 72mls of roughly 15-16mg juice at 60/40. I figure as long as I'm close to 15-18mg I don't need to be dead on with the math. You could also do 30mls 36 and 60mls plain and get a 12mg base that would put you around 8mg or so.
I only use a juice calculator and measure exactly if I'm mixing for someone else - I myself don't care if its 16 or 18 exactly I'm more interested in liking the flavor.

One of the issues I have with DIY (and premade juices) is that I don't really know what flavors I like yet. I'm still all over the map, liking what I didn't expect to and not liking what I expected to. I think my taste buds are in a constant state of change on top of it. It's driving me nuts.

One day it's "in" and the next day it's "out".

Oh and if you do want to get into DIY - amazon has great deals on graduated cylinders and syringes for measuring and mixing. There's also a seller on eBay - I think it's bottle mart - that has 30, 60, and 120 ml needle tip dropper bottles at really great prices. I think I paid $22.00 for 50-30ml bottles shipped.

I think you may be right, I ordered 18 mg in juice I had been using at 24mg and have been vaping it for several days and I don't see any difference at all in the effect. I'm doing just as well and if anything it tastes better, that is why I was thinking of getting some of the flavorings and doctoring some of my 24mg juice that seems to just need a little something to really be enjoyable.

Depending on just what happens in the next month or two I may find myself wandering into the DIY too.

I've actually found that single mix flavors suck. Like just plain butterscotch or fruits. But mix in small amounts of stuff like sweet cream, cotton candy and vanilla cupcake will actually bring the flavors out more and add body. Like I do a peach for 30mls I'll mix 3mls peach 1ml juicy peach 1ml cotton candy 1ml sweet cream and 1ml watermelon. It's still predominately peach but has more body.

I second that, I would have clicked on the like but for some odd reason it seems to have disappeared.
I am starting to find some flavors that I continue to like day after day though so I am feeling quite hopeful.

I thought it was getting better too. I'm so sorry. Do they know why / what / how to treat it or is it still a guessing game?
I thought it was burning mouth syndrome. That really is bad.

Yeah, it's BMS ... don't think there is really much they can do about it except mangage the pain. The OS is just trying everything he can think of I guess:)
You guys know what is really pitiful?
I'll smoke half a cig then take a few vapes to get the taste out of my mouth

Good afternoon. I hope you're all having a nice peaceful day so far.

    Good afternoon fellow Gemini. :)

I don't know how peaceful my day will be, but it will be enjoyable I'm sure. I'm planted in front of the TV in my recliner for the duration. 5 hours of the US Nationals drag racing, NASCAR truck race, and tonight NASCAR cup race at Atlanta. For a die hard racing fanatic it couldn't get any better. Oh forgot all about the Indy car race, what would I do without DVR?

Morning folks! (Yes, it's still morning here)

Sorry I didn't really show up yesterday. I had all kinds of plans to get things done, but the painters showed up and I got excited wanted to see how far they'd gotten like every 15 minutes, lol.

So I spent a lot of time in the sun (good Vit D) and talking with various neighbors.

I tried to pick the same colors I had before (steel gray body with dark gray trim) and I sort of missed. It's pretty close but the body color is too light so it almost looks blue. It still looks fresh and new and pretty good, but it's sort of like a haircut that's slightly off. Only this one won't grow back for at least another 8 years. :glare:

Thank you all for the birthday wishes; did you all forget that you had sent me some fantastic pretty birthday wishes 2 weeks ago, on my real one? Ladies, let's not rush things! I already feel old enough already, LOL.

Karen, congrats on no smoking yesterday! :rickroll::headbang::banana::banana::banana:

I'm getting close again, I can feel it. Still getting little pangs of anxiety when I get close to the end of my pack. My signal to quit will be when I don't feel that dread at all. I'm partly scared that if I quit completely all my hypo stuff will be back with a vengeance. Ugh!

I think that anxiety near the end of a pack will always be there and you will always feel the dread, I wouldn't use that as a signal to quit.
For me I've kept the last one in the pack and carry it with me always, just knowing if I really feel I need it it is there, takes care of that anxiety. I've done that for the last 16+ days and haven't touched it yet other than to trade it out for a fresher one. SO is still smoking so that is easy to do. I know my banner says 15+ days but it never changed over yesterday for some reason, bad banner. lol

I think it works the other way for me. The last time I was able to not smoke for 2 months and when I stopped I just never felt the need to buy another pack. A couple of days ago I had run out and in the morning bummed one from my SO and didn't have another until 8pm (when I bought a pack).

So for me, having a handy pack around is more of a tease. I may have to just get to a point where I decide not to smoke (talked about that about 200 pages ago) but I do get a sense that I'm close to being done (again).

Just goes to show how different everyone is in what works/what doesn't!

OMG. Sunny in Portland - on a weekend?!!! I'm surprised anyone worked yesterday. LOL! That's an automatic excuse for a mental health day. I think the last time I lived in Seattle, I could count the nice days on the weekend with one hand (weekdays didn't count because of working).
 I'm glad you were able to enjoy it.
