Karen, you have 2 days now right. Congratulations.... I am trying to keep a low profile for a little bit cuz I went overboard with Thaya and don't want my keyboard slapped. Congratualtions again and again.

I held a cigarette in one hand and my spinner in the other for almost a half hour one day in the beginning. Didn't smoke the cigarette. Then I graduated to a pen the next week. Now I don't need a prop.

I used to play with cinnamon sticks. Still like them.

I still don't see everyone's baners. Just a few sometimes. But never yours and a few others.
Kinda weird.

Hi Signal,

Welcome to the thread! We haven't really gone off topic, but there's a great group of people here who help support each other on our own vape journey. Sometimes to keep things from getting too depressing, we just hang out in the "living room" and have fun. We still talk about struggles, and triumphs, and everyone's issues that keep us either smoking, or what helped us to quit.

You're more than welcome to join us, lurk, or just comment!

I think a lot of vapers who quit completely aren't really aware of how hard it is to STAY quit, unless they've been through it themselves. That's what so great about this thread; everyone of us has been there, or still is.

I assume this thread has long since went off the original topic?

This is in reference to the original post...

Yes, there are a lot of former smokers that went off the analogs completely and went full into vaping and never looked back. But there are still a crap load of vapers that still struggle getting totally off the analogs. I'm a recovering alcoholic. Vaping does help reduce how much I smoke but for me the only way I will be ever able to totally quit analogs is if I completely quit everything. Moderation didn't work with drinking. Switching from whiskey to beer only didn't work. The only thing that totally worked when it came to alcohol was to quit absolutely. And it took AA to be able to do that. There is NA (Nicotine Anonymous), but there are VERY few meetings available.

I hope you get some good sleep, FQ. I won't be able to stay up late tonight either. I have to work a 16 hour shift tomorrow, from 7am to 11pm. I am so dreading it.

Ouch, that's a long shift! Grats on 2 months!

Karen grats to you too!

Just don't toss your mod on the ground and stomp on it to put it out when your through.

That sounds like something I might do.

OK, who's browsing incognito??? Come out, come out, wherever you are!

That would be me... lol

I without a doubt smoke the most when I first get up. The sooner I pick up the PV, the less I will smoke through out the day. After meals are proving to be tough also.

There really are some flavors that can't be saved. Cough syrup might be one.
Imo the only direction to mask the medicine taste would be sweeten it to a candy flavor (which I also don't like). Use cotton candy, marshmellow. I also wonder what a cheesecake might do. Or a white chocoate with maybe a hint of hazelnut. But then I'm day dreaming.

I think I'll just forget that one, I have a feeling anything would just make it worse. lol

Haha...

You know what? That's totally me too right now. I have 3 in the mornings, then I'm good till about 7 when I have one (or two). I'm trying not to smoke after 8 because I think it's aggravating my obstructive sleep apnea. Apparently it sounds like I'm choking, so that can't be good.

Shari, no problem, and thank you!!!!
I hold that pencil for dear life, I put a friendship tip on it to put it in my mouth just in case I forget. I always had a cig either in my mouth or hand so I knew I needed something light weight

Hi Signal, welcome to the thread. We do stay on topic much more than it may appear at times. We are all in various stages of our journey. I appreciate where you are coming from. And for me, I also can not smoke one here or there. If I pick up one I will smoke the pack. And then go buy another one. But I also know several people that can only smoke on the weekend when they go out to a bar or party. I can't do that. I can have a glass of wine with dinner and that is that, and I know people who can have none.

I did not know that there was a Nicotine Anonymous. NA stands for Narcotics Anonymous so I am not sure what you are referring to. It is a sister organization to Alcoholics Anonymous. Both organizations have been very helpful to many many people. ECF does sometimes feel like AA for smokers to me. Where you you find the Nicotine Anonymous listing of meetings. I would like to take a look at that.

I am glad that you have found your way to not smoking. How long have you been vaping. Glad you found us.

I assume this thread has long since went off the original topic?

Thanks for the welcome!

Yeah, I was doing great at one time. Went to vaping 100% of the time and then stress came. I decided to vape at the same exact time I am going through a divorce. Then I developed bronchitis which made vape inhales impossible without coughing like I was dying. That was a month ago and my lungs still not fully recovered.

I spent so much damn money on vaping, I refuse to give up. For whatever reason analog smoke does not trigger coughing as much as vapor does with my lungs all jacked up.

Hi. This is what a night person who had to work the early shift looks like. :-x:cry::yawn::grr:
Took a nap and had a big meal. I need to go for a walk or something. If I just keep sitting here I'm going to end up buying something.

If you don't buy this weekend next good sales, probably best sales will be Black Friday

Now I do not see a banner for you. Didn't you have one before? I have been able to see everyone's banners. I think it may have something to do with the browser you are using, or if it is a phone or computer. There has been talk about it on and off on this thread.

I have 1 m 20 d 19 h. Who else can't you see.

I'm sorry to hear about your divorce, and health issues. My first fall off the wagon was stress induced, then it was compounded by recurring allergies. My second fall off the wagon was a newly diagnosed illness, and smoking actually made it better both times I lapsed. I know in my head that smoking ultimately isn't good for me, especially not now. But what little it does help along with the 30 year familiarity is making it tough to stay away.

I've also invested a lot of money and mental focus into this and fully intend to go back to vaping 100%. I know I will do it, just not exactly when. I'm sure you'll get there too.

I'm glad you found us, and your right on topic. Each one of us have had to find our own path, what works, what doesn't. There are definatley mental head trips involved in breaking any addicton. Some of discover smoking may have been hiding medical problems too. It doesn't matter what path is taken, just as long as one is taken. Even a holding pattern due to RL issues can be fine. One thing it doesn't deserve is shaming and baming.

It sounds like you know what works for you and I support you in doing that. I've been in 12 step groups before, although it was a long time ago and i think there might be a couple of others here too. Frequently I relate and learn from others experiences, but most of all, this is a support group. We also don't kick anyone out if they are successful. LOL!

Welcome.

Yes, I do get holiday pay for my double shift tomorrow, which helps ease the pain a little bit.

Karen, I'm picturing you puffing on a pencil. Whatever works. :) I'm very proud of you.

Welcome, Signal. Nice to meet you. Drop in anytime.

Vicki, I know what you mean. You know I'm a night owl and I have to be up at 6:15am to work a double shift.

Aik, I couldn't see half the banners on here, either. It was my AdBlock Plus. I simply turned it off just for this site and now I can see them all.

That is exactly what happened to me. First let me say welcome!!!!!!!! You are in the right place!
I was doing great! I had every piece of equipment that you could want, I had 3 months of vaping under my belt, whoosh the rug gets pulled out from under me. I got sick, I tried to vape and could not, I needed to get my nicotine, I figured ok so I'll smoke and go right back, ha,the laugh was on me. Not so fast, I couldn't vape for two months! When I finally stopped hacking my lungs out. I had to go back to 808's and relearn everything, so now since February, this past two days I am finally smoke free.

It is difficult but everyone here is so supportive. Some still smoke some have quit, some just drop in when they struggle, we are a caring community.

I've seen MOV around alot. Who is that?

I thought it would be like cherry pipe tobacco too, it isn't. I'll pass on anything cream soda, I didn't like that even as a little kid, I can't stomach egg nog either.

NO it isn't a MOV it's MBV, was from my very first order. So far I like everything from MOV, a couple more than others, their Chai Tea Latte is my absolute favorite so far, with Legendary and Carmel Movacciado close behind and Cinnamon twist and Shangri-la both ok. The cinnamon twist is great some times and sometimes a bit much, the shangrila is a peach that sometimes is very very good and other times not quite strong enough. Some of it is my taster I'm sure because the exact same clearo on the same battery at the same settings can be different from minute to minute, so it's me for sure. But the Chai tea latte is wonderful every single puff. I have no idea whether it tastes anything like the real thing or not cause I've never had the real thing, and I can't really describe the flavor, but I love it.

Also I got an email from them a little while ago saying all of their juices are 25% off through tomorrow, using LABORDAY. they had their grand opening today for their second B&M store today. I have only tried a few of their juices so I really can say what is good and what isn't but so far I'm pleased.

Hey, if it works for you, go for it. I never thought of a friendship tip for that. Good idea. I was never a pen chewer so I just needed something to hold that felt like a cigarette.

Shari, no problem, and thank you!!!!
