Yet another explosion

So how would this be user error? Other than maybe a bad battery. Even if there was a spare battery, it looks like it was the battery/iers inside the mod that vented.
I emailed the .... out of cbs New York and explained the mans stupidity to them. Won't make a difference but still worth doing.
He could have bought "Chinatown Special" batteries. I mean the only way to know 100% would be to contact the victim and hope he doesn't make up a bunch of fluff.
I love the fact that he already (or at all!) has a lawyer.

I've actually seen that once... the guy admitted he lost the battery cover for his mod and pocketed it when it wasn't shut off...
User error at the very least would be leaving the mod in his pocket and the button getting fired.
Can't say for sure what caused the incident.
Can say for sure loose batteries suggests a level of dangerous ignorance.
Can also logically suspect there's a direct connection somewhere between ignorance and incident.
In life, there usually is IME.

If so, it shouldn't be able to fire for more than 10sec and if it did, it malfunctioned. I'm not saying that he was very smart with all those extra batteries apparently just stuffed in his pockets, but if it was the batteries IN the mod that vented, it could have been a malfunction.
And LOL, if batteries decide to vent in a turned off mod, I'm sure there are dozens of ECF'ers, myself included, with a shelf or table full of ticking time bombs.

if it was shut off properly, it shouldn't have fired at all... then we would have seen all those spares firing instead... the guy is a runner up Darwin award winner.
