Well it took me a while to get here. I got off on a DNA jag for close to a year and while they are a good TC mod I went back to a couple of my M's and remembered how good the SX's were, then when I tried a couple of ML's I had I really remembered. I'm about to pull the trigger on my first G. I'm going to have Perry go ahead and upgrade it for me with the 6.7 beta and I have the latest SXi-Q software on my computer but I can't remember if you have to unzip the rar upgrade files when they come out, which I know from experience they will till they have everything just right. It's been a long time since I did the FW upgrade but if it is already upgraded when I get it I need to do what with the SXi-Q. If he upgrades it it should have the driver in it correct and I can just plug it in to my computer without doing anything right? Like I say it's been a long time. I had a couple Q's which I did like but I sold them not because I didn't like them but didn't care for the finish always felt like I was going to scratch it or something. But those were the las FW upgrades I did and I'm old so my memory is slow. So when I get it what do I need to do, I'm sure they will come out with a final version of the upgrade probably 6.8. Refresh my memory. Oh and I'me getting a red kevlar supposed to be from the latest batch. Which chip should that have the J?

Question for those who are already using a G Class:
With the power button being on the broadside of the G, is it comfortable to operate with your index finger, with the screen facing away from you, or is it only comfortable when using your thumb, with the screen facing toward you?

very comfortable to use index as trigger, also thumb, so screen facing towards or away is both good! I like index triggering and this is how I use any mod that I can, besides my tesla nano where it's very uncomfortable to do so. Same as the Q really in that the G is comfortable both ways. Sometimes I also "side" it and that's comfy too. Good mod, still my favourite in my collection and what i use exclusively when home. I don't take it out though.

Thanks much, Vesh. I hope another user or three will confirm your experience. My worry that the mod would not be comfortable for index finger triggering is what's been making me hesitant about getting one (or two). I do 99% of my vaping using my index finger rather than my thumb to trigger the power button. The Yihi Q Class (not the Q Mini, which I've never tried) is the most comfortable and most used mod that I own.

this is going to sound really strange but if you would like to try how it would feel grab an empty tp roll and oval it out to 30 mm wide. then tape a button on the side about an inch and a half down from the top. and yes a tp roll will just slide over it. it would probably be a pretty good temp sleeve for travels.

It is fine to use with your index finger but I prefer using my thumb. The reason for this is if I am using my index finger my other fingers tend to hover around the screen and sometimes touch it leading me to find a microfiber cloth to get rid of the finger prints. At first I thought I might not like using my thumb but it really is comfortable for me. Now I tend to find myself using my other mods that have the option of index and thumb firing, I find myself using my thumb most of the time.

G class is the best mod I own, as it produce the best vape. The TC works extremely well with SS, whereas the majority of other TC mods struggle with temperature stability if the 510 is either dirty or not tightened well.
Also the batteries lasts longer than any other 2-cell mod I have.
My only complaints is the lack of vape-while-charge feature which has been dropped deliberately; and the mushy fire button. I mean, the switch is of very high quality, but it hasn't the same feel to the touch of the fire button of the ML class and Q class mini I also own.
And yes, the G class can be vaped comfortably with the index finger, as we all did with the MVP2 in the halcyon days of our vaping journey...

Yup, I agree. TC works better than my DNA 75 device. Just wish I could vape while charging. Wish the paint would hold better. But can't complain compared to some of the other devices I've got. Good solid device for sure.

I can see where the G would be comfortable being that small, also everyone says the button is squishy and Daniel said not a lot of play so I imagine it doesn't take much of a push. I just tried my ML that way and it wasn't that bad and that button is stiff and clicky. I am a little worried about scratching the screen. I think I have a cloth bag that would be just right if I wanted to put in in my pocket. If it does SS316L like I think it will in TC I'll be a happy camper. My DNA's seem to be getting kinda weak but none of my SX's are.

If you have the driver installed on your computer, you can just plug his device in, launch the software, and perform the upgrade. You need to have both the "driver" software and the firmware, which are separate downloads. The settings from your device can be moved to his device, which, if he is using the same atty with the same coil configuration, this might be a benefit for him.

One of the biggest problems I see is people trying to connect the device for upgrade with the batteries still in it. This makes the usb port try to charge at 2 amps. Not all usb ports can charge at that rate so it makes the discovery of the g class do weird things. Take your batteries out people. The DNA's with 2A charging do the same thing.
