what I would like to know if Yihi intents to get the 6.7 firmware out of beta anytime soon....been waiting for ages...any1 got a clue?

I thought 6.6 was the beta, 6.7 the release. Report the bugs and wait for 6.8
I found 1 bug so far which is after firing occasionally the screen will flash off and on really fast, doesn't bother me but it is there, plus on the top of the circular screen still says Wata-S
Yeah, I had a Sigelei 213 once. Got rid of it after a week. Big piece of junk.
You don't have to wait for the next firmware update to hear about problems because I can give you some right now.For the most part busy thread=lots of problems. The Sigelei 213 owner's thread for example.
Not always the case though. Things will perk up around here when the next firmware update is released.
I received my new SX Mini G, five hours ago.
It has the SX550J chip (not the SX550A chip), and came with the 6.6 version of the software or firmware or whatever it is.
It locks with 3 clicks to show the clock, just like it's supposed to. However, it does not unlock with 3 clicks. The only way for me to resume vaping after locking it is to open the battery compartment, then reestablish the battery connection. What a PITA!
Also, just like with my SX Mini Q Class, the mod will not accept the upgrade to the latest software for the particular mod. I upgraded SXi-Q to the latest version but the latest G Class software (beta version 6.7) will not upload to the mod. Myeh!
Actual vaping performance is awesome but Yihi's online software sucks bigtime, which I already knew. Windows 10 desktop is what I use.
I went through the same thing when I got mine last week. They changed the unlock sequence, it is now 3 clicks on the fire button and then move the joystick down and you're all set. I agree its a great mod but the software needs some fine tuning!
Like Fordski said, the unlock sequence has been changed to make accidental unlocking less of a problem.
As far as the update goes, there are a few different files to choose from. If you're not using the right one it won't work. Make sure you're using the files from the yihisxmini.com site, not the yihiecigar.com site. They're for different versions of the board. The files on yihiecigar.com are for the version of the board in all mods other than the G Class, while the ones on yihisxmini.com are for the G Class specifically.
Also, make sure that your device is off and doesn't have an atomizer attached. Yihi's software is pretty wonky. If you're still having problems and feel like going into detail about it I'll help out as much as I can.
Thanks very much. For people like me, there is an additional instruction that should be added after "move the joystick down", which is "and release it immediately".
I appreciate the offer of help with updating. I'll lay out the steps I'm using and what goes wrong, the next time I try to do the update. At the moment I'm in "ain't broke, don't fix it" mode but I can't stay in that mode for long.
Does anyone have the 6.7 Class G update file already in .sxi format? No matter what program I use, the files unzip to .rar format. I have used 7-zip, Win-zip and whatever add-on program Google uses.
Even though the files won't unpack as the .sxi files that the SXI program is looking for, I attempted to update using the .rar file instead. That didn't work. When the upgrade fails, it is impossible to close the program normally; I instead have to restart my computer to close it.
EScribe is such a beautifully written and easy to use program. SXI is written extraordinarily poorly. It's not a matter of me needing to access anything in version 6.7; the version 6.6 that my G came with works just fine; I just think it would be great if the latest software actually worked.

Also, as far as I can tell, the only difference between 6.6 and 6.7 is cleanup of the flashing process. I can't see anything changed on the mod itself. So I'd say, if your mod came with 6.6 then consider yourself current.
I was pretty sure I tried that already, but just in case I hadn't, I downloaded WinRAR. It does exactly the same thing as the other RAR extraction programs, leaving the files as .rar files, which will not upload to my SX Mini G Class.
If you notice in DJLsb's YouTube video, you see that the files he downloads from Yihi have .sxi extensions. But, when I go to the Yihi website, the files have .rar extensions EXCEPT for the oldest (factory) version from January 2017, which is a .zip folder instead of a .rar folder. Inside that .zip folder is a file with the proper .sxi extension. However, there's no point in me retrograding my software version.
Everything that reviewer DJL says is new in version 6.7 is in my 6.6 version... everything. Wallpaper changes, new unlocking method, rear light turning off with brightness setting of 2 or less, everything! So, I'm chasing my own tail for no reason whatsoever in trying to install version 6.7 when there is not one single thing, as far as I know, that is different.
Here's additional confusing information from Yihi:
SX550A chip is the same as SX550J chip, just different production batches.
Before upgrading, please check the device information on SXi driver.
If your device is powered by SX550J chip, please upgrade with SX550J firmware.
If your device is powered by SX550A chip, please upgrade with SX550A firmware.

When my G fires up, the screen says SX550J. But the version information says SX550A version 6.6.
As far as I know, there are not two separate versions of any firmware, so the instructions stating which firmware to use for different production batches of the same chip, are completely meaningless.
So I've spent hours trying to upgrade my device so that it can do all the things it already can do.
It is a great device, in my opinion.

So, you right click on the RAR file and choose Extract Here and there are no files?
Never seen that and I just downloaded the RAR from your link and did just that.
Try again and right click the file, read the choices and pick one of them.

That is correct. The command prompt window on my computer flashes for a fraction of a second, then disappears, and that is all that happens.
Here you guys go, I just dumped the .sxi files onto Google Drive, I really don't know why they felt the need to compress the contents of an already compressed file, but yeah, make sure you flash the corresponding .sxi file for your board, either 550J or 550A:

I just purchased my first yihi mod from Rebel sold by esauce located in Great Britain. Took 2 weeks to get, nice mod tho compared to boxer, who I watched a rant about by Jai on Youtube that helped me decide which 3d device to I wanted to purchase. The mod is awesome, software sucks.

I ordered a blue Kevlar yesterday evening. got a shipping confirmation this morning and I have checked the tracking 16 times today and it is still not out for delivery. guess I shall check again tom..
Hmmm, after you get the mod updated, I'd have someone take a look at that computer. RAR doesn't have a command window that opens. You may have bigger problems what with all the malware running about.
Success at last! I'm now running the 6.7 software. There is a window that flashes so quickly that I cannot tell what it is when I unpack the .rar files. I don't know for sure that it is a command prompt window, but it definitely flashes on my screen. Mea culpa: my difficulty with finding the .SXI file was apparently due to me not spotting it in the well-populated folder I used, because when I checked the file properties, I had created the file 5 days ago.
I did have to remove the batteries from my G Class to install the new firmware, because with the batteries installed, SXI kept saying there was an atomizer attached when there was not.
If there's any difference between 6.6 and 6.7, I sure haven't found it yet.
