Ive made the firmware and driver available on my google drive account (link above), Yihi makes premium ecig devices but apparently cant afford premium web services (Squarespace, Amazon S3, something??) - there are plenty of affordable hosting services that offer faster than (literally) dial-up speeds...

Only English versions are included.

Included
Latest driver (2.3.1)
Android apk file - official release from the play store (1.1.0.8) & older version from Yihi's website (1.0.7)
All of the firmware updates I have (4.0, 4.3, 5.5, 6.6, and 6.7).

Special note for the newly released 6.7 which was released 6 hours ago, it has a readme file that was included, please read it. There are two firmware update files, you will need to look at whether your chip is an A chip or a J chip, you can see which it is in the driver software.

The updates are cumulative, meaning, you only need to install the latest version. Below are all the changes since the factory release.

Im not sure if there will be a noticeable difference for everyone upgrading to from 6.6 to 6.7, but it is the new firmware they just put up today. I dont have the old changelog to compare to the one for version 6.6.

If you are already on 6.6, the install process is significantly faster and only requires one update instead of updating and then updating the system (whatever that means).

The only noticeable thing for me is, Ive noticed the resistance is now not fluctuating like it used to, I think this is related to #10 on the changelog for 6.7.

Has anyone managed to update this chip in anything other than the G Class? I just got a Vicious Ant Knight today and I'm about to lose my freaking mind trying to update it. SXI detects it no problem, but it won't let me apply any of the updates to it, saying they're not for the SX550J, but for the G Class. Which runs the SX550J. :-x Either I'm doing something wrong, or Yihi will only allow updates to the G Class, and no other mods with the 550J board.

I couldn't get the upgrade to work. No matter what I did, it kept saying my atomizer was connected and it isn't.

Follow these instructions to the letter, if you don't, you'll have issues like the one you are describing.

1. Close the sxi software
2. Unplug your device from the pc
3. Disconnect your atomizer from the g class
4. Power down the g class by doing the following:
- Press the fire button five times
- Select the top option by pressing the joystick in
(System Off)
- Use the joystick to scroll to Power Off and push the joystick in (the device will power off)
5. Plug the g class into your PC
6. Launch the Sxi software
7. Click on Connect and verify it says Connected
- If it does not, try clicking the connect button
- Make a mental note in the connect screen whether it says 550A or 550J, you'll need to know this for later in this process
8. Click the return button at the top middle of the Sxi software
9. Click upgrade
10. Click choose file and locate the firmware
- Make sure you select the correct file, there are two varieties of the 550 chip, A and J.
11. Click update device

If after the update process, your device says upgrade system ui.

1. Close the sxi software
2. Unplug the device
3. Plug the device in while it says upgrade system on the display
4. Launch the sxi software
5. Go to connect and verify the device is connected
6. Click return at the top middle of the screen
7. Go to update
8. Click open update file
9. Locate the same update file you just used in the first group of steps above
10. Click upgrade system

It is supposed to automatically update the system, but I have been seeing that some have to go through the process I outlined above.

Did that process, also tried it with the batteries removed. I noticed that my firmware is V1.801, which I'm totally unfamiliar with. Could that have something to do with it?

Thanks for the instructions. I see what I missed was turning the mod off. Not use to doing that because on previous classes you didn't have to. I'm all upgraded now.

You might need to contact Yihi or the the manufacturer of the mod. I dont know how the 550J chips in devices outside the G-class work.

Try downloading the SXI software and firmware from here...

I've been exchanging emails with Yihi, but it doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. It's like trying to get tech support from a child.

On another note, I didn't realize that the firmware on the yihiecigar site was different than the sxmini site. That looks promising. I'll check it out when I get home, thank you.

Hmm great news.. my g class has destroyed 2 BRAND NEW aspire 1800 mah.

All i did was not use it for a week, and it drained it so low (one of them to 1.4 volts, so the the chargers just assume li-mn and say "full", and the other to a level not one of my 5 chargers can activate it, even with so called dead battery activation functions).

I worked out what is doing it.. after i turn the device off, after about 30 seconds the screen comes back on in an ultra ultra low dim setting.. obviously this slowly drained the batteries and killed them.

Would it be fair to ask yihi for 2 new batteries? these cost me $30 AUD locally.

Also, i have heard of the dim problem elsewhere in this topic.. and this is the important question..

does anyone know if it is a HARDWARE bug, as some of the early carbon g classes had faults, or if it's a FIRMWARE bug that is corrected in latest firmware. If the latter I am happy to keep it and locate a windows computer to update it.. If the former, thank goodness it is still in warranty and i bought it from a wonderful store that honors warranty. (vape4life).

i would SO appreciate some guidance on this.

Kind regards,
T

What firmware did this? I would certainly report your firmware and what happened to SXMini bring it to their attention. Then see what they have to say and go from there.

Yihi isn't going to replace your batteries. I always take my batteries out if I'm not going to use a device, or, I put it on a charger and let it sit.

It's possible a good charger can recover your batteries if it offers a slow charge.

If you don't have a slow charge charger, try putting the batteries into an older dna device (anything other than a 75c), or, a device that only does 500 mah charging.
