So sorry to see you go as I will miss your posts. You've been so very helpful to me.

Please take care of yourself. I hope the time with your brother & his family will allow you some peace of mind to regroup & discover new prospects for yourself that, perhaps, you couldn't see under the stress of just trying to stay afloat. I wish you the best. :)

No need to reply BUT hey thanks for the informative posts I have read here. Good luck and hope things turn around soon.

PS: I live out in the boonies and use a USB stick cellular modem. Pay as you go. Certainly not blazing speeds but glad to have it. The modums are pretty cheap these days. In fact, I bet many of us would chip in to buy you one if you need.

In fact, if you have WIFI in your computer I have a Novatel MIFI unit n great shape I will give to you free. Do a search on it and if interested let me know.

I'd chip in gladly to help pay for that connection! And I'm sure many of you would be willing to help out too! So let's not just talk about it but get it done! I do not have experience in this type in setting up something like this, but I'm sure willing to provide some time. After all, Bad has donated a lot of time and expertise here, and if we can give back a fraction of what we got out of it, he would be set for years to come! Anyone with experience in this regard, please pipe up!

And Bad, before you say no, let us give back just a little. You've forgotten more about vaping than most of us will ever know and it would be my honor to be able to give back a fraction of what I got from you!

I know there are forum rules concerning solicitation and I want to be clear that this is not what I'm doing here. If this post violates those rules, I apologize in advance, but will simply find another way to get it done!

Wow, terribly depressing news, you will be greatly missed!

How far are you willing to move? Omaha, Nebraska too far?

Here's a completely bat#$%& crazy idea:

You could contact Clark from Nicoticket and see if he has any job openings (or future). I've got an empty 1bd rental house you can stay in for FREE indefinitely. Once some money starts flowing you can find yourself a better place to live (house is in the hood, but acceptably safe). Also NE has a ridiculously low unemployment rate.

Dead serious about the offer too.

Either way, best of luck in everything!
There aren't enough like buttons in the world to convey how touched I am by your offer of generosity!

No, please stop with this talk. This is simply not allowed. If this talk continues I will respectfully ask that the thread be closed.

This was not the intention of this thread. The forum is far greater than just one single member. There are many veterans here fully capable of stepping in to do what I did.

Yet it will still, for a time be diminished without you.
Don't sell short your importance, to others and most importantly to yourself. Take that advice, and we'll see you back soon.
Until then my friend.

I concur. Similar ideas were discussed during the Baditude appreciation thread I linked to earlier, and the thread got closed by a moderator because this is prohibited via ECF rules. Rules are in place for a good reason. There are a lot of people in unfortunate circumstance like myself, and its not fair for one person such as myself to take advantage of their popularity at the expense of others.

So PLEASE lets all stop any talk about helping me out. I appreciate everyone's desire to give a helping hand, but this is not the kind of help that this forum is designed for. Baditude is a tough cookie and he will get back up off the ground after he takes a much needed breather.

This thread is getting long and most are not reading the whole thing. This is what/why Bad was asking people to stop talking about.

Count me in ... lets get a kickstarter or something going.

Bad, don't even think about closing this please.

and If he does ... let's get some PMs happening.

It doesn't have to be a lot (I got no apartments to help with) ... however, if we get something going ... it is easier with a group ... I'm in.

And Bad ... we know this is not the purpose of this thread ... we know your humble style.
Roll with this dude and lets see if we can help a brother out.

Cheers

I understand completely your situation and I'm sorry to hear it. I am nearing retirement and your post reminded me to be grateful to be somewhat secure in my current employment situation. If ever there was a template for being a good citizen of a board like this, you would surely be it. Thanks for your help in the short time I've been here and please don't hesitate to reach out to any who have offered to help, even if it's just career advice. You're too young to pack it in and not start a second career, and there is currently money (grants, etc.) for re-training available if there's a post secondary or technical school nearby. Think about that route. Good luck to you. If there is something like karma, something good is coming your way. We'll all be looking forward to your return and the story you'll tell.

Baditude, I keep seeing images of you working in a vape shop in the future and finding an internet connection to keep you here on ECF. At ECF you are an institution of knowledge when it comes to technical advice. We'll miss you if the connection technology isn't at your new location, but I hope you will find a way to stay online and with us after your move.

I also see you as being THE BATTERY GUY who we could count on to sell only the best at a fair price. Baditude's Battery Barn on a web site would be supported wildly by all here at ECF. Think about it. People have made millions with just a little startup money for a good idea. You definitely have the credentials.

Keep in touch. Think about the positives where you can find them. I think you are the type to make things work out just fine.
