The old Bellus thread is closed and abandoned, but I brought my tanks back off the shelf recently, and thought I'd share a top-fill trick that seems to work very well. If you're a Bellus owner, you know the building and wicking are a little tricky, but I won't go into that here. That's what YouTube is for (and there's always the old thread to search and explore).

I fill (and refill) it with the airflow control closed. After screwing the cap back on snugly, I fire the mod and start drawing, and only THEN I'll twist open the AFC while I'm sucking away. Not a drop is spilled.

Ah, the flavor. I almost forgot how good it was. Anyway, I hope this helps someone. :)

Thanks! I always liked that tank, especially in single coil configuration. I pretty much always used the technique you describe, just never thought about posting it. A solid tip that works for an overlooked little (OK not that little) tank with really good flavor.
Single coil? From what I remember it was a dual coil, did you mount a single coil between the 2 posts?

...it's got a single coil plug that fits really well.
Since I got my Serpent Mini my Bellus has been permanently shelved.
I used to keep one Bellus in single-coil mode and the other in dual. But then I bought my eHPRO Bachelors (and later Augvape Merlins), and both Belli went dual. I never could get past the integral glass of the Wotofo Serpent tanks...especially once someone posted a picture after an unfortunate drop! No sale. I'm sure I'm missing out on its nice flavor performance, but I wanted something I could possibly fix if it broke. Vape-apocalypse prep and all that.

Then I picked up a pair of Bachelor IIs and another set of OBS Engines, both dual coilers, and I just sort of drifted away from the Bellus tanks. I guess the belabored building and tricky wicking finally got to me.

But at the moment I'm DIY flavor-chasing hot and heavy, and I've got more ready mixes to test than I have high-performing tanks. Re-enter the Bellus, and I'm glad I didn't forget how to handle it. On the contrary, it seems even easier than it used to be. I remember so many people complaining about top-fill problems, so I just wanted to revive the subject, and maybe encourage some people to put them back to work. I'm certainly happy they're here when I need them.

Bellus has been in rotation since the day I got them. Still use them daily and still love them! I still hope youde will come out with a Bellus 2 with some more forgiving wicking, as building them is indeed a bit tricky. Still have to rewick after building occasionly even though I have done it many times.

That would indeed be awesome. I still love my Belluses (Belli?) but very rarely use them anymore.

I love mine too. Only thing it's missing is JFC, would be perfect tank if it had that imo.

I haven't used mine in a couple months. I'd just like to echo a few other points here. I do both methods when filling. The one where @ashtrayogdc describes in vaping all the juice, and the one @man00ver describes of firing it.
I guess I have been using more "mini" tanks lately with bigger decks, and mech boxes.

These are still in my top 5 of favorite flavor RTAs easily. In fact, @man00ver and this thread will make me bust it out today.

To me I found the biggest thing to make sure you fill successfully with the Bellus is to make sure it is completely empty. I mean nearly dry hitting empty. Then when you fill, fill it fast and cap it fast.
When refilling the tanks yesterday, both had several millimeters of juice visible in the glass. I didn't rush on the refilling...but I didn't dawdle over it either. I just made sure to re-open the AFC under suction, and everything was perfect.

Of course, I've got pretty nice wicking jobs done for both of them this time around...so there's that!

They've been bored without you and will appreciate the attention...I'm sure they'll be on their best behavior!

Right right forgot to mention that I also give it a couple quick fires after filling.

Hmmm cool. I never close the AFC but if I still have some juice in the tank it will definitely leak on me. As long as the tank is bone dry I do not need to close AFC and get no leaking whatsoever. I'm going to try your strategy with some juice left in there. Thanks.

I still use the Bellus everyday. I have about 10 in rotation. I bought them before the Digiflavor Sirens were released, and basically the Bellus is one of the best single coil RTA's I've used. I wish UD had released just a single coil version, but the silicon plugs seem to be holding up well through constant, daily usage.

It took several months before I could be totally leak free upon refilling. It took that long to get the wicking down pat. Lately I've been 98% leak free upon filling/refilling. There are always those times one rushes through things and make a mistake, but the Bellus teaches you what it likes ;)

I also like the fact that these are affordable, produce excellent flavor and plenty of vapor no matter running it nearly closed for a MTL style or wide open for the DL; it breaks down completely and comes with ample replacement parts and there is absolutely no press fit pieces like the Bachelor abomination.

Thanks for the excellent filling tips. Now that most stores have these on clearance due to the glut of products, it's always useful.
