if i had money, i would drive american cars. not that buying the american car is so expensive, but what happens after my payment ends. i have heard american cars have improved recently, but i still don't feel good about them due to too much issues i have ran into sometime ago.

Most consumers don't know (and probably don't care) that buying a Dodge Ram for example, it'll be made in Saltillo, Mexico. buy a Toyota Tundra and it will be made in San Antonio, Texas.

I suspect that many don't know what buying American means anymore. I know I don't, as the lines are so blurred.

I think that e cig gear, like most everything else is manufactured by the Chinese to the specs that are requested. Better quality / exacting specs brings a little more cost. The Chinese are very capable and like it or not are dominating manufacturing not just of e cigs but of most everything these days.

The free market system has ALWAYS relied upon cheap labor throughout history. This is not new or unique to China. They happen to be the current emerging labor market.

I really don't give much thought to where things are produced anymore.....because I realize 99% of the time it's not in the USA, and 75% of the time it's made in China.

I've never had any issues with chinese vape gear. I'm not sure what would be toxic about it...it's all metals, pyrex, delrin...fasttech rules.

Quality of mech mod clones has been a bit dissapointing, but I certainly got what I payed for.

My next mech will likely be something made on this continent for 5 times as much money by someone who cares. I'd like to know what it's like to have a mech that works for longer than a few weeks before having issues.
many years ago when the Chinese scrapped their first generation nuclear subs a lot of radioactive cook ware started
showing up on store shelves here. kind'a gave a new meaning to the words stir fry.
:D

You gave a link to rather funny page.
It has a lot of nonsense, like this:

Medicinal mushrooms, such as Reishi and Cordyceps, have been shown to prevent cellular damage from radioactivity. Mushrooms also boost immunity, reduce inflammation, detoxify the body and even help repair damaged cells.

My top recommendation for removing radioactive particles from the body is Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP),

Do you know that granite (and granite counter tops in kitchens) is radioactive?

China will eventually become too expensive and manufacturing will spread to another emerging power. Japan made plastic and tin trinkets after WWII. When the Deming manufacturing quality philosophy permeated Japan, the products became more technical and quality soared, as well as prices. Over several decades price, demand, and quality caused us to pay more for Japanese products. That will happen in China eventually and their employees will continue to unionize to raise their pay in accordance with the quality of the products.

In a few years we will be discussing the next new and inexpensive manufacturing source for ecigs.

Can you prove it?

these are more recent examples but as i recall the incident i remember occurred many, many years ago.
possibly in the eighties.
Wide range of Chinese imports found to contain radioactive metals
Radioactive Household Items – Thousands of Household Products Contain Nuclear Materials
as i recall the radiation levels where enough for concern. they where traced back to a scrapped Chinese sub.
the metal wasn't from the reactor or its components but other structural elements of the boat.
the problem today is world wide as scrapped medical, experimental and laboratory equipment along with the
increasing number of vessels is contaminating scrap stocks world wide.

Your links indicate that countries of concern are not just China, but many others also, including US. By the way, the biggest buyer of American scrap metal is China. Bad Americans selling radioactive scrap to poor Chinese?
Anyway, the story is about an item at least 12 years old. Things are changing.

That's a little surprising since they are'nt known for the reliability of their circuit boards. Talk to any service guy who works on microwaves or refrigerators. Guy just came in to replace one here at work on a 6 month old microwave and I was talking to him and he said it is a common issue.
Not surprising one bit. A single component isn't exactly a board full of components. Every slightly industrial country does something better than everyone else. China more so than some others. It's a large country. You have to expect something good somewhere, no?

I really like all my clones from China. All my mod clones and RDA clones are from EHPro and I've never had any problems with them. I do wash all my RDA's with alcohol and then hot water and soap before I use them. I've never thought that what I'm using could be toxic. I remember all the stuff about toxic goods coming from China but I don't think there's anything wrong with the vape gear coming from there.

With respect to the concept of unions in China, I fear the backlash from their government...and I imagine their people would fear that too.
I'm (with fair reason) very concerned that it would turn out something like this:

People order Crap they gladly build Crap - money is money......in any culture.

That's very true, and leads nicely to this:

You can't compare independant companies in Japan to Chinese controlled companies in China, nor the wages. China can't make safe dog food.

I'm not trying to fight for China's reputation (they have a few billion folks that can do that for them) but I have to say this.

If you go to a Chinese manufacturer and ask them for 100,000 bags of dog food, but you're only willing to pay a dollar for each 30 pound bag, don't expect quality control.

I can send someone to the hardware store for a bag of bolts, or I can ask for NQA-1 ASME standard and pay several times as much for those bolts.

You really do get what you pay for. I'm NOT saying that Melamine in dog food should be excusable under ANY circumstances, but "we" collectively want more, faster, and cheaper. There's a market for sub-$30 mods and people are snapping them up left and right.

If nobody bought them, China would not make them.

We are reaping what our pocketbooks sow.
