We've covered the health benefits of vaping. We've discussed issues related to the work place. We've talked about vaping etiquette and the relationship between smoking regulations and vaping regulations. In my short time as a vaper non-smoker, there have been a number of realizations of everyday benefits to me from vaping over smoking.

So, I thought I would share my number 1 benefit of vaping in my daily activities and ask others to share theirs. If any of you are like me, there are surely some I just haven't realized as of yet. So mine:

Because I hadn't smoked in the house for the last 20 years, after a meal (particularly supper) I would jump up to head outside for that must have after eating smoke. Being retired, virtually all meals are just my special lady and me, and here I was finishing my meal, jumping up, and "running away". By the time I would return, she would be up and going about her business. Now I can sit back taking my casual puffs and actually hold a conversation with her, both of us relaxed and sharing "quality time" together. Sappy? Probably so! But actually rather nice!

Anybody else care to share their personal little vaping benefit, sappy or not? :pop:

I guess mine would have to be scuba diving which I had to give up due to smoking related issues. Every weekend no matter what the water temperature was I would load the car with my gear and head off somewhere to log some dive time. It was such a huge part of my life that was ripped away from those dirty things and I want it back.

Before my lungs got wrecked from smoking I was at the rank of Master Scuba Diver and had just about every specialty rank that could be earned Nitrox, Wreck Diver, Deep Diver, Underwater Navigation, Rescue Diver, Search and Recovery, and a host of others. I was well on my way to my Divemaster and then Instructor certification as well.

So now that my lungs are getting better and as long as my chest x-ray looks good towards the summer I plan on starting back up where I left off. I love the water and I can't wait to get back to it. Its probably the one place I have ever found what I would describe as absolute peace and serenity. And I loved helping in new diver classes the looks on people face when they emerge from their first dive whether it be in a pool or a training lake is priceless and I was privileged enough to share that moment with them.

I realize this is not exactly what you asked about sine it hasn't come to fruition just yet, but it is on the horizon and will be my greatest benefit and proudest moment since I have started vaping.

Now that I have the set up vape that suits me the number one non-health benefit is my wallet. I no longer spend $10.00 a day on analogs.

That one doesn't work for me :( E-liquid alone is equal to my potential smoking costs. Add tanks and batteries to that and I am in the negative. This is by choice. I could go back to the ego-style tanks and easily cut my e-liquid use down to less than 5 ml per day.

For me, knowing that I don't stink like a dirty ashtray is all I need. As I type this, I am reminded of a scene from Forrest Gump: "she tasted like cigarettes" http://youtu.be/xZQYZuJe6uY?t=4s

The fact that it is 10 degrees outside and I am sitting here at my desk being productive and vaping at the same time is also a great benefit.

It's hard for me to chose what I like the most that's not health related. Not smelling like a smoker is right up there. Being able to indulge in nic when I want to without being addicted and without all the health risks from smoking is too, but that's health related.

I think for me it's being able to get all this for so little money that's the best part. I make my own juice and I use rebuildables so with a few bucks of wick, wire and DIY supplies I'm good for a year. How can you beat that :)

I started vaping just before my girlfriend, right after we started dating, and I got her into it soon after. It has been one of the things we can share that has brought us closer together. I've gotten into rebuilding but she uses Nautilus Mini clearos and runs five tanks at a time with different flavors, so while she is cleaning and refilling I'm rebuilding and rewicking.

Very thankful that we can share a healthier habit together than smoking analogs!

Non-health related? Doing vaping research of all kinds! Learning about coil building, battery safety, new tanks, reg and mech mods, pg/vg ratios and how flavors effect the experience, all of it. Secondly, not being a smoker at my new job. Thirdly, just not buying analogs! Honestly I could go on and on.

Besides, vaping, due to the research necessary for coil building, etc., also helped me shake the rust off my math skills.

So how many $10 days is it gonna take to get back to even on "the set up that suits you"?

Over the past 4 years I would have spent $17,520 for cigarettes ($12/day)
Over the past 4 years I have spent $1,750 for vaping (84c/day)
In the past year my total expense to vape is ZERO

Buy mods & atomizers that have about a 10 year life expectancy.
A pair of quality batteries will last about 3 years (1,000 charge cycles from the pair)
DIY liquid costs 6c/ml (I have about a 10 year supply)
DIY wick & coil costs about 10c/coil (I have about a 100 year supply)

See signature for how to save money!

It was my belief that being forced to smoke outdoors I didn't have to worry about smelling like tobacco on returning to the office. Boy was I wrong! Having stopped smoking over 30 months ago when I began vaping, I can smell the tobacco smoke clinging to my co-workers as they return from their smoke breaks. I never realized how long this residual stink remained on my person. It can take 10 to 15 minutes for the tobacco smell to completely dissipate.

Another advantage is not having to schedule my daily travels around the need to buy more smokes before returning home. I hated having to get dressed at 10:00 PM in order to run down to the local 7-11 because I ran out of smokes.
