i'm filled with lots of wanderlust lately, and i can't wait to vape on a plane. ethics be damned, it's just going to happen. i plan to do it in the washroom though (ew), i'm glad you got away with it openly. the last time i travelled i spent 24 hrs in commute there and back, which really tested my limits. i have very fond memories of being directed around heathrow, transit included, trying to find a proper place to smoke. the first area i was directed to had an outdoor area, but not anywhere outside that was designated for smoking. my brain pretty much popped right then and there. then all the customs folk were giggling at me since i had stuffed one of my bags with 1 cigarette pack less than i had to claim duties for in my own country.
ya. i feel i am owed a vape on a flight. i'm not a very good flyer.
The take off makes me nauseated, After that I order a soda(alcohol makes me sick on flights too).
Now I can hit up the lavatory and vape up, I worry for the smoke detectors though.

I have very discreetly. In the bathroom or exhale after holding in for a while into my blanket or jacket.

I do usually fly Usair (and it most certainly prohibits use of e-cigs on planes, like Robin says, it's written in the magazine on board). I just don't want to draw attention and then wonder if it's allowed or not, would hate to see it get too much attention and not be allowed to get thru TSA. In the airports, I try to find a family bathroom in a less crowded area.

I vape in airplane heads all the time , no big deal , just try to use juice that does not have a heavy smell to it.

My hint for airplane bathroom vaping even with aromatic eliquids is to jam the sink stopper open with something (paper towel, old credit card, etc.) while vaping and it will suction out any excess vapor fast. The vapor never even gets near the smoke detector, even with 100% VG.

Just got back from Cabo Mexico, flying in and out from the USA. Both there and back I vaped on the plane and was never once questioned. I'm actually a little shocked I got away with it. If only I knew about vaping when I took my 20 hour flight to Indonesia a few years ago. I thought I was going to die having to go that long without a cigarette! haha

Has anyone else vaped on a plane?

Where going to Mexico in 10 days so I have a few questions for you. Did you take your mods and juice on your carry on or checked luggage? I want to take 5 mods and tanks and don't want to check them for fear luggage may get lost. Did you have any problems at customs?

Its good to know you vaped on American Airlines because thats the airline flying us to Playa del Carmen. By the way our last trip to Mexico was Cabo and we loved it.

Last September we flew into Cancun and I carried on one of my Chucks and some juice.
I put everything in the bin with my shoes for inspection, as I always do when I fly.

I did this both flying out Los Angeles, and flying back out of Cancun.
There were no issues, nor have I ever heard of anyone having issues flying from anywhere to anywhere.

TSA is very familiar with electronic cigarettes.
In fact, I've heard a lot of them even use them.

TSA gives me no problem with the vaping gear. The APV (E-Power 14650 + Smoktech XL carto) was in my jeans pocket. So, it goes into the scan basket along with my wallet, car keys, change, etc. The 30 ml bottle of my DIY juice went into the quart-sized Ziplock bag that also contains other liquids, like shampoo and toothpaste. That quart-sized Ziplock bag (from the carry-on bag) went into the scan basket as well. The quart-sized Ziplock bag went into my carry-on bag after TSA scan. The E-Power went back into my jeans pocket.

The carry-on bag also contained my battery charger, spare cartos, switch module and a half dozen 14650 ICR batteries. The batteries were contained safely in plastic pill bottles. All of these items stayed inside the carry-on bag and passed through the TSA scan without problems.

I've never had problems with TSA either. I do think that the FAA could create an issue if they wanted to (it doesn't take them much to get flustered). My travel vaping is very very discreet. It just takes 1 verbose offended person to draw attention to the lack of defined parameters.

Customs: I travelled to Peru over the summer with no issues. It was confiscated in Colombia though.
