You "could" do that, but it would require removing the wick and disturbing the coil.

The idea of a "brief" dry burn is that everything can stay in place.

Follow Question to yesterday's instalment of the Inept Vaper:

Instead of a coil induced dry burn to rid the wick of "crud" and "e-juice build up" would it be advisable to use a torch to dry burn the wick to accomplish the same objective?

I finished a couple modifications to my SW last night, btw dont flame me lol... last week i got a couple copper screws and washers from a freind who I beleive got them from an electrical supply shop. last night i had it apart for cleaning and decided to do a couple things that had been bugging me.

BTW i dont reccommend doing ANY of this stuff, the sidewinder hits hard as crap as it is and you run the risk of ruining parts or the whole PV.

first sanded down flat the top of the switch screw and the springs, (pinched the tops of the springs first) just to make a better connection, wasnt really having an issue w/ it as long as i pushed it down flat but I remember it mentioned in here so it had been bugging me to try it. sorry about the crappy pics.

Then used EZoff to strip the anodising off of the switch threads and sanded the top because there was a small burr there (the part where the switch grounds). This part I REALLY dont reccommend, dont do this, i didnt screw up my pv but i did it very carefully to not get any on there w/ two types of tape and a cannibalized rubber glove. also it isnt necessary and isnt needed for the switch to ground. Its just something that has been bugging me and I love messing w/ stuff.

actually i did get a decent improvement in voltage drop on the meter, but vape-wise it is pretty much the same... except in my head the part w/ the EZoff freaked me out, but here she is still pretty.

DONT DO THIS. cant stress that enough lol.

I have vaped three tanks of Rat Juice in three days and I'm not a heavy vaper.....my GF is even digging Rat Juice, guess I will be ordering a 70ml bottle for her soon but she should be fine with what I'm leaving for her.

well all of the calls were good questions, not all Zen users can stay on top of a thread, especially this one, because while there is information here, this and the old zen thread are mostly used as a hangout, I for the life of me never understood why there wasn't/isn't any sub-forums to strictly answer questions, because you have to look at it from a new persons point of view, this thread is 90% social gathering and 10% Q&A, so IMO a sub-forum would be great for new users who have questions and concerns. It was a PITA to find any info on the old thread if needed b/c of all the socializing and there isn't anything wrong with socializing but there should be an outlet for those who have questions and concerns.

Jason has his own sub-forum here, anyone/everyone is able to start a new thread to ask a specific question about anything Jason sells including Zen products. They don't need to visit the Zen Family Reunion chit-chat thread to get an answer (more likely they'll get an answer quicker in the reunion thread tho). There isn't a need for another sub-forum, people should start threads to ask their specific questions if they don't want to weed thru our chit-chat. Outlet = People have a very simple choice to make, start a question thread or weed thru the Reunion thread and not b*itch about it being a chat thread.

Since there is only the Pchela info thread (which contains most everything there is about Zen products) perhaps Jason can start a thread that will point people to that specific thread or set up something from that. Of course, that would mean Jason would have to find the time facepalm: ).

Agreed. There is also a RBA sub forum and an APV sub forum.

I can't remember who it was that mentioned it, but I changed the wick position on my Sidewinder so that instead of firing it with my thumb, I am now using my index finger. I really like it that way and Mike building it so there are options is sheer brilliance.
