I know this subject has been beaten to death but as a BAM orderer who has been waiting a soon to be 4 months after scheduled ship date, I am right there with tunnelvision. Obviously, we feel it is worth the wait and complaining and whining about it will not make it ship any sooner. I understand Zen~ is a great guy and a great inventor and that there are uncontrollable circumstances surrounding the BAMS. The issue I have is every time Zen~ sets a new "ship by" date, it gets moved back. He did the best he could offering refunds and detailing a plan for shipping, noting that final assembly is all that's required, however, it is almost December and as far as I can tell no one on this forum has received their shipment notification. I assume the shipment date will once again be set back and purchasers will edit their hopes to receiving their products by Christmas. I would suggest Mike post a weekly status update either on this forum or his website. This won't make them ship sooner, but it will at least provide a reference point for those waiting and they will be able to count on consistent, weekly updates to keep them informed on the proceedings. What's happening now is a new date is announced, then crickets until it's past that date. Meanwhile, people are receiving other HOH products through outside vendors and parts from HOH. This acts as lemon juice on a papercut. I'm sure Zen~ is doing all he can and I am even more certain he will be the happiest when the BAMs are all shipped. I just think it would be a great way to ease the build-hopes-up knock-hopes-down cycle that has been going on since August. I know I would love to see a weekly status for BAM assembly.

when he posted about the links to yay or nay your orders, he still mentioned that there were minor issues to be dealt with, not including he was still in the middle of his move to the new home, and all the crud associated with the 'frankenstorm' and the move (gotta remember, the roof of his new workshop was damaged pretty bad too)... dealing with this holiday had to take a small toll on it as well...like the rest of us that had to wait many months for some of our gear, patience is the only key... I know I can understand it (even as patient as I can be), waiting 7 months for some of mine, if you followed his directions mentioned, they should be taken care of at his earliest convenience... he is doing the best he can atm...once everything is back on par and 'up and running', things will be much quicker and smoother ;) ...

Zen~ said:
I am going to make the commitment at this time to ship all remaining devices by the end of the month

He said it'd be by the end of the month...

Yes, and the end of the month is in 3 days. And he also said he would start shipping them as they are completed beginning the Monday after his announcement, which was 2 weeks ago I believe. I am not trying to criticize Zen~, just pointing out facts that support the idea of weekly status announcements.

Hey andy, did you manage to fix the hot spot between the lower coil and neg screw? I have that issue all the time, and it really pisses me off. Sometimes nudging the coil works, but most of the time i end up running an extra wrap, so that the coils isn't so hot. Its somewhat of a crappy workaround, so i was wondering what u did in order to fix it.

BTW, good afternoon everyone.

I don't know what he has or hasn't shipped. I get that you're tired of waiting but every minute spent here posting an update is a minute away from production. You have the right to be frustrated but the only option you have is to opt out if you don't want to wait any longer.

Ugh, no. I poked and prodded all night last night to no avail. I've tried every suggestion I've seen and I can't solve the issue...

I do believe i have the option of posting my opinion and a suggestion as well. You may not agree with it but it's not a suggestion for you.

Thx arguablybetter

Nice to see I'm not the only one frustrated by this.

You most certainly can. Sorry if my tone came off as harsh, it wasn't intended to. Unfortunately, the person your suggestion was intended for hasn't been regularly checking the thread. And while you're free to post your opinion, I'm equally free to comment on it. I'm sure you'll get your BAM before long.

i tend to push the coil into the wick when that happens to me. sometimes that helps.

Usually that works, but I've never been able to fix it while running a 3/2 wrap of 32AWG. My guess is that its just too hot with that many wraps.

I've been running a 100mm wide mesh, rolled tightly to make a thick wick, with 6/5 wraps of 28AWG kanthal, and so far the performance is excellent. Its roughly the same ohms as a 3/2 wrap of 32AWG, but since there are more wraps its distributes the heat more evenly and over a larger surface area of the wick.

I wonder if there's something to that. I run the same on my SW and can NEVER get the bottom lead to stop glowing.

No worries.

My SW is still at the Zenpital so I can't comment on those wraps....
but, I seem to be ok with a 3/2 wrap and semi-fat wick on my BAM and Blue Line.
MFA has, I think a 3/4 wrap.
I have the hardest time with the lead wire on my standard, even with a 4/5 wrap, which is my fave.

I type too slow, but check my post a couple of posts up. If you have the materials try it out.

No, I hadn't seen that (because you edited it after I read it, lol). I've been sticking with the regular skinny wicks but I'm sick to death of dry hits. I'm going to play around some more tonight and go for something similar.
