So, for those of you who are just on the mechanicals, what do you take out with you? I still rely on my Provari and a tank to take out - every time I take a Zen out, it leaks everywhere. I'd love to just use the Zen mini or BAM - but the leaking... not so good.

Like I said before, the Sidewinder because it's the most pocket friendly.

I don't know if I'm convinced on the mechanical (there's the right term.) But, if I value your opinions enough to ask you, I should probably put some heedance in your opinions and experience. I think I'll put one on order. The next question is.....which one?

I love the look of the Colbalts, but if I order a Sidewinder, it could wean me off the VV with the Kick and get me use to the mechanical.

Has anyone seen a mod that adds a clear tank to the SW? (plz correct me if SW isn't the abbrev. for Sidewinder) I was able to check out Bumpi's SW and the tank swivels to lock the button. Cool design, but pretty much precludes swapping out the tank w/o loosing that important trigger lock.

The other issue I may have is: I'm a Really Big Tech Geek! I don't know that I'd feel comfortable with a device that doesn't have digital readout and led's. Maybe I should rig up some Christmas Tree lights to the handle to make myself feel better :)

I did see a pic of a SW with the owners name engraved or painted into the side. That was good looking. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the post.

that wais either mookie or shai, mike (zen) did that for them as a gift :) and yes you can use a clear tank on the SW, but it will be a poly tank, though theres a couple vendors on here who could cut you a glass or quarts one to fit, I just used a poly one and an SS top cap, it actually looks pretty good on the SW, I think i got the idea from UV

hey guys check this out i think its pretty spiffy

i take the SW with me pchela, though my gf had a GTUS (non leaking upside down genesis) that she took out but didnt like the tight draw, though it actually works pretty good wigh some fiddling, but we sold it bc she wasnt using it so nowshe gave up on finding a non-leaking gennie and is taking different other things out with her, usually the gus or paps/zau or the zag/gg or something the like. she just has to keep it upringt. I did make her a little leather holster cut out for a flashlignt that was a perfect fit for one of the slots in her purse and cut it in half so its just the bottom part and and attached it in there with some needle and thread...... and gorilla glue lol (but it doesnt look bad like it sounds, it looks like its part of her purse), when she got the GG i had to slightly modify it bc of the bottom button but it does help keep stuff uprigh t in her purse. hope this helps  but yea she has the saem issues, she wants "them" to make her a gennie that hits like a zen and doesnt leak

GGTS and Ody for me. Absolutely no leaks. Sidewinder is next in line.

I shall never be a purse gal:nun: the carhart jacket has a superspy pocket though ;)
I knew the ladies would understand! I have a Baggallini that is very similar to that one (even the same color) - here's what happened. When I first got my Zen mini, I took it out in it's carrying case that came with it and I was very careful (I thought) but when I took it out it had leaked all over the inside of the case so I decided, "well, I can't take that out with me". And that's how it's been ever since. I'm always scared of it leaking in my bag or where ever... especially with a child and husband who feel like my purse is their own personal property that they can rifle through whenever they want and never put stuff back where it goes! My purse never stays upright or in the same place because of them. But... a smaller bag... I'll have to try again. Thanks guys for the advice. :)

Ah, there's the difference. I never wear a coat even in Colorado. At the most a black dress jacket. I go from warm home to warm car to warm building so I have to have a small purse to carry a very few things......

I too loved my non-mechanical mods...but now that is all I own.

I wouldn't mind getting a kick screw for the sidewinder. Would be a nice regulated mod with a very tiny form factor. I'm sure this has been asked, but any word when they'll be available?

Where did you get your SW? If you bought it from ENS, Jason sends the update kit. If you bought it from VC, Zen sends the update kit, but probably not as quickly as Jason. If you bought the SW in the Classys, you might want to contact that person as that's where the update kit would be sent.

This is just what I remember from this thread before I bought my SW and wasn't paying a lot of attention, but I think it's correct.........

The update kit was only for the vapercon sidewinders. After that, they all shipped with the updated parts installed. The people that contacted Mike for the update kit from vapercon received kick screws. None of them since have included the kick screw.

Yep Andy is right---bought it from ENS last week. Guess I'll have to hunt around for a screw that will fit. Anyone have a picture of how it installs or the approximate size?

So what's the point of buying a SW when one of the main selling points is that you can use a kick with it. Why should you have to scrounge for the screw that enables you to use the Kick? Shouldn't it be included?

I don't intend to use a Kick, but it doesn't make sense to me. What am I missing?

Mike is the only person that can answer that question except for Jason, maybe. I thought it would be cool to use the kick but I don't use it at all. The 18350 doesn't really give very good life with the kick and the kick doesn't behave well with it from my experience.
