For those of you that roll fat wicks, are they by chance more solid or hollow? I'm trying not to over-do it on the mesh.. But finding my wicks are just not quite fat enough, and a bunch of liquid leaks through the wick hole when tilted.. Trying to find that sweet point middle ground..

Hollow, definitely hollow or it will make the capillary action of the wicking much harder otherwise.

Just to clarify, when I said wick hole, I mean the actual hole you put the wick into.. My wicks just aren't fat enough I guess..?
But if I don't tilt just right, the wick drys up

pg/vg combo will affect wicking properties also. I prefer my juice not to wick back down the hole after heating up. I am moving to a 50/50 or higher vg so maybe my opinion will change...doubt it.

my mini was like that. i drilled the vent hole on the top out to i think 3/32 .. flows perfect with a semi fatty in it ..
Is it ok to remove the insulator and roll a fat 325 mesh wick for 50/50 juice? Will this wick ok?
I thought that too.. I've experimented with several different coil wraps to not much avail.
I'll need to get some more mesh before I continue experimenting soon.. I'm not sure if these ceramic wicks will cut it for me yet.
I do have enough mesh to try wrapping a square piece of 1.3"x1.5" or so.. Thoughts on this? Enough mesh? Too much?
I know of another...it used to be blue and is my hands down most favorite pv ever.

Our poor kitten Myst died before she'd even lived 8 months from something similar, although not quite the same. Apparently cats, and in particular kittens, can have their marrow systems "shocked" out of functioning by vaccines, illnesses, and the like. They just shut down, and stop making new red blood cells. Sometimes they can be coaxed back into function with B-class vitamin injections and some other supplements, but not usually.
We tried, 'tho. But who the heck thought a supplement for a cat should be CHERRY flavored??
We think she got Swine Flu (this was in 2010, and me and my wife both got it BAD); especially after it was reported that it could cross species into cats and sometimes dogs.
The final option was to try a bone marrow transplant - but subjecting a small kitten to that amount of trauma for almost no possibility of success vs. letting her die of hypoxia (you generally get woozy for a few hours before finally just falling asleep - I've spoken to hypoxic human patients when I worked at the hospital; it's absolutely painless albeit confusing) in the comfort of home ... that decision kind of made itself.
We didn't even want to euthanize her, given the circumstances (if there was great pain it would probably be a different decision) - didn't want her last moments on earth being in the terrifying confines of the vets office (I'd love to find a vet that would be willing to do house calls for that sort of sad work, or better yet just give us a pre-loaded syringe - although I'm sure there's laws against that).
So, little Myst fell asleep purring and happy in the arms of my step-son's girlfriend... and never woke up again.
Can't think of a better way to go, if ya gotta go.
