Morning, everyone. Looks like no Department of Justice employees will be furloughed this fiscal year, so that's good news.
OK LilyBear, this one's for you...
I know that I was joking about my collection of pvs and vape gear earlier, but I was just being silly as Ive been known to do. The only reason why I own a lot of devices is because I've been vaping for 4 years and also due to the ever changing technology and improvements. I have never bought a device only to say that I have one, or for show. I've only bought what I wanted and thought would keep me from smoking again. It used to be all about not smoking and vaping, and helping others to do the same! I have given away more items than I own and have lost literally $1000's of dollars by selling far below value and retail. It used to be about selling used items on the cheap to help others who could not afford to buy new. I refused to ever pay full price for a used device, as I would just buy it new if that was the case. I was one of the first to openly start screaming about the brokers years ago, just read my posts if you don't believe me. Some listened, but most didn't. Then the brokers joined forces to literally start racketeering by buying up new supplies in order to control demand and jack up the prices. I refused to buy from, or sell to them. I tried to get others to stop buying from them so it would stop. Some did, but many would not. I told anyone who bought from them that they had no right to complain because they were contributing to the problem! I took a lot of Hell for it too!!! So did some other brave souls who would post on their ads when they were asking outrageous prices and many were banned for having done so. Many are gone now and have started smoking again because of it also. These are only a few of the casualties of the so called "Profiteers" who are nothing less than racketeers!
Now all of these different devices are coming up everywhere and many are now following the profiteers by offering limited runs and limited editions as LilyBear stated. They can ask premium prices and less vapers can purchase some nice devices. They are also being sold on other sites for astronomical prices by the profiteers who are also buying up these limited runs. The greed has now become a rampant, vicious, full circle. With the ever changing technology does this even make sense for vapers to be spending this kind of money on so many devices that will soon become obsolete unless money is of no object, consequence or conscience to them? Then you almost have to give them away and it is very hard to recoup much to spend on the next new device. I am so thankful for my Zenesis Hybrids and Attys because when this all implodes and however the dust settles, I know my Zeneses will last me forever.
I am also very sorry for all of the new vapers who will now never benefit from seeing a caring and sharing community at large where they could have at one time had the opportunities to purchase used devices at great prices as those days are long gone. Now it's all about greed, status with more emphasis on acquiring and owning devices than it is about not smoking and especially helping others not to either. I can't imagine what it must be like to be a new vaper just starting out now, especially if I was on a limited or tight income?
I was accused one time in the old Zen thread for having sold a rare device for profit by the person that I bought it from the on the classys. It was one of the very first Genesis Hybrids that were ever introduced to the US by a very good friend of mine. Very few were ever sold and they had to be built as they were only offered in kits with assembly instructions. That person had sold it to me not only unassembled, but with a broken switch too. Since I had to re-assemble the hybrid and fix the switch anyway, I decided to pay for an upgrade rebuild on it as the technology had improved so much (you used to have to actually solder every time that you changed the wick and coil) and also because I did not have the tools to upgrade it myself. The person that I bought it from sent me a pm when he saw that I had listed it on the classys. I immediately offered it right back to him for exactly what I had paid him plus my costs on the repair and rebuild only! He did not want it. He then posted on the Zen thread after I had went after somebody in the classifieds for selling a Zenesis for an outrageous price that I had sold what I bought from him for a profit! He never posted that I had paid more money for the repair and upgraded rebuild, that it was a rare and almost impossible to find device, or that I offered it back to him at my costs only. He tried to make me look bad on purpose in order to try to make me look like a hypocrite so I would shut up and stop going after the profiteers! Why am I even bringing this up now? It's because he probably would do it again to me for speaking out again like this now. Last time he did that to me, I never even found out about what he had posted until long after he did it. When I finally did find out, I didn't want to bring up an old, false accusation on Zen's thread and did not defend myself or my honour either.
I was so disgusted by the greed that is why I left the forum for almost a year. I only stopped by for a quick look when I saw that ecf had put some rules on the profiteering in their classifieds and that is only why Ive stayed around for a bit. That is also why I no longer list what devices that I own in my signature. It doesn't matter what me or anybody else owns, it only matters that people are vaping and not smoking!!!
Oh and LilyBear, if I get burnt at the stake for only speaking the truth again...
Will you please throw some water on me to not only put out the flames, but the smoke too?

played swotr for a while at launch, quickly got bored.
most of my time now is spent playing path of exile(diablo 2 like game that is free and awsome) and the beta for marvel heroes(i am addicted to this game, made BY david brevik, the mad genious of diablo 1 and 2. what else can i say but HULK SMASH!!!!)

i can't say much due to nda......but it will be one hell of a game if they continue where they are going. it is already loads better than diablo 3(not saying much there) and there is supposedly endgame comming, hopefully it will be good. with brevik as head of the game...i see good things comming.
I completely agree. Zens aren't as hard to get, therefore "no good". People are stupid. I love my Zens. I'm glad I bought my little Caravela when I did and from Pablo, not the classies.
I've had to sell a couple of things lately, but for my cost or a little less. I hate to part with my stuff, but vet bills and dentist bills....you know how it is.
I feel good about the person who bought the Ti....he is absolutely thrilled and I know he'll give it a great home

I dislike the profiteers also, but they would soon be out of business if the Classy rules are used as intended.........
Let's say the Limited Special Editions, all the BAMs, were listed for sale by reputable sellers for, say, 400 dollars. That would be a very respectable profit for those that were around to get on the BAM list and waited 6 or 8 months for it to finally arrive, having had their money tied up for that same period of time.......interest plus luck compensated for. I think people who really wanted a BAM would pay 400, but I think that would be about the most money that a BAM could be listed for, and reasonably expect it to sell.
Now if that's what most, or all, the BAMs were listed for, it would cut the feet out from under the profiteers. They could not reasonably expect to pay 400 for the BAM and turn a profit for their time and effort, because everyone would know that a BAM would shortly show up for sale in the Classys for 400.........
The BAM is the only true Zen Limited Special Edition that I can think of, except possibly for a few PVs that were made in 2011 as Zen was just getting started. All the rest of the Zens will eventually show up again. I'm not sure how that would fit with the EOTLs promised for later this year..........
But continuing on with the profiteers, if there was little or no profit in their scalping of Zens/BAMs, they would rapidly lose interest. There is a large enough supply of the rest of the Zens to not make them profitable enough for scalpers..........
Those manufacturers that put out a new "Limited Special Edition" every few weeks/months are helping profiteers. That would be the same as Zen putting out a "new" LSE every few weeks with the only difference being a different engraving on it. That would not truly be a SLE...........
Just a different slant on how to handle scalpers.........

i did Swtor at launch never made it past tattooine, i was told that the game does get much better but i havent driven myself to try again.. played Wow (Who didnt at least try it?) Played EQ II, Diablo, D2, D3... havent found anything to fill the void since SWG personally...
