Well while getting dog food at tractor supply i picked up some SS cable in 1/8 and 3/32 that we were talking about and gave it a shot. I cant believe how fast this stuff "wicks". I think im sold.
I tried two ways, just the wick, and the wick with one tiny wrap of mesh to cover just the coil section. The tiny wrap of mesh made the process 100x easier and faster and helped with the hot spots.
Not a zen sorry, needed something to vape while mucking around lol

I have a question about the SS rope wicks. Do you torch them or just pulse fire like you would for an un-oxidized mesh wick?

.... it's sad I have to work the university until 3am tonight... I get to kick drunks in the junk and stuff wads of tp down the trash-mouths of their counterparts ...well, I'd LOVE to do that lol, but don't wanna lose my job yesterday was "May-fest" at the university and it was off the wall lol...I was overloaded every trip and left at the end of the night with a massive splitting headache from all their yelling, pounding and screaming on the bus the damned bus smelled like a brewery after the first 5 minutes I was running

Both work, but giving it a torch first will make things a heck of a lot easier IMO.
