Hi everybody. My daughter is going to prom tomorrow. All this senior crap is so stressful and so expensive! I don't like it!
I like to run silica in one of my gens and I am almost out... I have no idea in my pea brain where I got it so gonna ask....couldnt find it on Jasons site unless I missed it which sucks cuz I have to order something else there. (running cotton wick in it right now and it just is not quite as good ) where is a good place?
AMEN SISTAH! It was not that bad with a boy who did not date anyone never wanted to go to anything and couldnt have cared less. I spent wed. night arguing with mine in counseling because I am a heartless >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> that wont let her go to a school I simply cannot freakin afford! I work three jobs NOW just to put food on the table. Tried to tell her that on 8 bucks an hour I cannot pay 2 grand a month for her school she wants. OK sorry rant over LOL
Power came back on just in time to get a shower before work. And all of the snow has already melted away.
I ended up going to prom all four years in high school - I wish I could go back to a younger version of myself and tell him/me to not bother with silly things like that. I barely remember a minute of it (no need to divulge why) and that money, which would have been better spent on mods in retrospect, is gone forever. Hey, that can be a new tagline:
"Memories are fleeting - mods last forever."

Yeah, they just don't understand - I think they don't have the mental capacity to understand until they mature a bit so it's not all their fault but... man, parenting can be difficult! We went through the private school thing too! I would have loved to put her in an artsy private school but it cost more than our rent each month! We also live in a very rich area - we aren't rich, we live in an apartment close to lots of $500,000 + houses - but, all of her school peers are from well off families and drive BMW's and Lexus's to school. It's always been a struggle because she sees her peers with all of this expensive stuff that we've never been able to give her. Kinda sucks. She's just now getting to the point where she understands - I think getting her first job has helped. But, she still has the idea that special occasions, such as prom, mean she can spend $350 on a dress! 
Also, she doesn't have a date and doesn't seem to care - so we bought her ticket and I guess we'll buy dinner? A date would have been good for our wallets!

Just think Peach, in another 4 years you'll get to do all the senior stuff again when she graduates college. I got all that going on starting tonight with mine's pinning, tomorrow with graduation, and Monday night with an honors awards presentation.

MY daughter had no date and I made both dresses..... we also live near people who live ON the lake....we are just near it. That being said they drive hummers and stuff and I have a rusted out durango so I feel exactly what you are saying. Around here same thing and I told her I simply cannot pay for her schooling what i am paying for my HOUSE. I tried to get her a date but Zen~ was the only one who MIGHT have put up with her LOL (and maybe not even all night ) The dress was black this year but at least the jewelry wasnt all gothed out. I even tried to buy some guy a ticket to take her and that was a no.
nope i have 3mm silica i use in another device but some ecowool turned up with my kayfun so i will let you know later
So with my oldest we pretty much paid for everything while he was in high school, and I feel it was a big mistake. he had no real concept of money.... So when he went off to college I told him we would cover the first two years, after that you are on your own. He learned some real harsh life lessons that third year Was tough for us but stuck to our guns.
Really think it was the best thing for him. Just finished his 4th year and while yeah we helped a little here and there this year, he has a much deeper appreciation for how much things cost and generally only comes to us as a last resort.

The Spring weather has been lovely. I hate to admit it, because I'm truly a night person, but I think the sunshine has made me feel a bit better. I have more energy...finally.
Jon...yee, that burn sounds painful. Take care of your hands. Speaking of fingerprints. I had to be fingerprinted again for work. Apparently, my fingerprints aren't as distinct as they used to be because it (scan type of deal, not ink) kept giving us errors. I had to do a couple of my fingers over and over...LOL
I'm going to a little vape meet tomorrow and I'm so excited!!
In Grafton now , hope to make it there tomorrow also....
