Couldn't find much info here to my satisfaction so here's my conundrum.
I have been hit with the wave of anti-nicotine scaremongering on the net and I was wondering if going down to zero nic will take away the throat hit?
I now have better gears since ordering from an old online store since 2010. I have been very loyal with my dated stock but thanks to a bricks store opening in the area I've had a good look and found some of their newer stock to upgrade my "mech" (?) device to a way better product by shosha.
I also wish I could understand the more complex products like box mods etc even though I have a degree in engineering I prefer the cheaper user friendly stuff. A good place to research all these things would be great too.

Cheers for reading.

Hi mate,
No nicotine will remove most of the TH. (flavours and PG may still provide "some")
What is the problem with nicotine? Do you have any links?
Did you fear nicotine as a smoker?

A good place to research all these things would be great too.
Here, you have found a great place.

Cheers
I

If you want to get rid of the pesky monkey, good for you. If you are concerned for your health, make sure the increased stress won't pose a greater risk.

Dropping down to zero over several months to a year is pretty easy. In the end, using nicotine was better for me than not. After many months of very low, then no nicotine, my wife and I thought it was best for me to resume using the supplement.

Mmn, as well I suspected.
I was hoping to lower the nicotine and somehow keep the TH
I've been trying to quit smoking since I relapsed six months ago and I been on the quitline.org.nz site and qsmb sites that has a lot of anti-nicotine advocates.
I guess I will just stick to my 18mg nic and just use infrequently. I don't think it's good to overindulge with anything like too much of water leads to drownings.
Thanks for the confirmation.
Have a nice night.

I've said it before but it bares repeating....Nicotine is NOT the big bad wolf we have been lead to believe it is. We have been lied to and are still being lied to. Nicotine without smoking is about the same as caffeine. We that have made the switch from smoking to vaping may always have a dependence on nicotine but nicotine without smoking has been proven to be a fairly benign substance.

Please don't allow the anti's to cloud your mind to this simple fact. It isn't the nicotine in smokes that kills. It is the smoke and thousands of other ingredients in cigarettes that can kill.

You will get honest advice here unlike those places that try their best to scare you into quitting. I really think those kinds of places would have a lot more success if they would do their own research instead of following an outdated script filled with half truths and downright lies. Good luck on your journey to a smoke free future.

Hi John,

I too started on 18mg and over the last couple of years I've steadily decreased that, First to 11mg - 9mg - 6mg - 3mg - 1.5mg - 1mg and yesterday I made my first batch of .5mg.

The drop from 6 to where I am now has happened in the last 4 or 5 months.

What I would say is that by reducing this way I have not noticed the drop off in throat hit but whenever I have vaped above what I'm used to it has irritated me to the point I did not want to go back up.

As has been suggested in a previous reply, menthol does indeed give you a throat hit and where I did find it too smooth I started adding a couple of drops of menthol concentrate to my ejuice. Right now I dont need it so sometimes I add and sometimes I don't.

My local vape supplier tells me that I might as well use no nic than .5mg/ml and I suspect that's true but I like not noticing a difference and if I can stick to this strength for another week or two then the next batch will be 0%

I should say that in order to manage these reductions, particularly from 3mg down where the juices are harder to find in those strengths, I started mixing my own but with lots of good advice available online I found that very easy to pick up.

Good luck with your reduction :)
