I really think this is an awesome cartridge mod. It's nice not having to top off or drip all the time. No more messes! They last for hours, until the cartridge is bone-dry. Trust me, I've looked in there with my flashlight (lol). I get a good hit and vapor every time. I can't wait for my order to get here!

I'm just surprised that something so great came from someone named Scottyballs. Wth? :p

It was a knick name I earned in High school no im not going into details:evil:

Scotty,

I can see this being developed further - perhaps a cartridge that already has that ridge in place and caps that "snap" in. Great idea Scotty. I've now found my cartridge "non"filler of choice.

Cheers!

Oso

My thought on the further development would be to have the plug already connected to the shelf and sticking the thing in as a unit.

i just came by this post today. wish i could try it, but none of my carts have caps.

So I've been trying out some new flavors and noticed a huge flavor difference between filler and dripping, so I figured I would have to drip or deal with the flavor loss...and then I found this post! Thanks for the great idea. I do have a question though, assuming I can get the plugs to work right on my own how many would I get for the $12 510 plugs only from your site?

Edit: nevermind, I'm tired and didn't notice the 5/5 combo option which totally answered my question.

This is absolutely amazing. I'm waiting to see just how bone dry it gets the cart before it stops producing vapor, but wow. Serious vapor, serious flavor, and the atty seems to get just enough to make its happy gurgling noise. A+

One weird little thing I noticed though. I thought this would take MORE drops than my polyfill, but it ended up taking a couple less. Strange. Not that it particularly matters, just an observation.

I am a noob, but already did some diy juice and the blue foam mod. Got tired of the leaking if I did not hold the pv just right. Anyway, read this thread...well much of it anyway....then went to the web and bought the 510 carts with the 'H' cut. I am really looking forward to filling, no leaks, and being able to put it away without worrying about how much is left in the cart.

Thanks Scotty!

I got my combo pack Thursday. That same day I also got an order of the Atomic Cinacide I keep hearing people rave about from Tasty Vapor. I was so excited to try both of them out.

They work much better than the one I made for sure! I was very happy with how consistent the vape is, all the way to the last drop. The ZFM + Atomic Cinacide has the best throat hit I've yet to find and the flavor is amazing. I can actually taste the full flavor of juice without any burnt nastiness. Filler really seems to dull the flavor, even dripping isn't as tasty as this. I've also tried this with some Dekang juice as well and noticed a huge difference in flavor and hit.

It's not completely perfect but it's close enough for me. Every now and then my cartridge will slightly leak or I'll get a flooded atomizer. It is still a lot less messy and more efficient than filler/dripping. I'm using the H-cuts with a Joye 510 and I haven't tried the round ones yet. I will try those out when I get a new order of juice which will be soon.

Question for you guys using this.

I've noticed that using the ZFM mod, I am frequently getting a burnt flavor. I didn't know what was going on for a while, but I think I have found the problem. I originally associated the burnt flavor (correctly, it seems) with liquid not reaching the atomizer and effectively causing a dry burn of sorts.

It turns out (and you can try this yourselves), if you fill a cart (leaving the plug out) and then tip it upside down to empty it, the drops require QUITE a bit of coaxing to come out. In fact, I was completely unable to get about 4 drops worth of liquid to drain from the bottom of the cartridge, even with tapping/shaking.

So I think the reason behind the burnt flavor I have been experiencing is simply that the liquid isn't always moving around the cart, oftentimes stuck in the bottom and clearly not reaching the atty. Anyone else experiencing this, or does anyone have any suggestions about how to improve the flow?

I love mine and I gave away all but the H cuts plugs to another ECF member. The H cuts works great with my 510 LRs and reordered only them. The other plugs must be for different attys other than 510 cause they flooded my atty ever time....not so with the H cuts. Nothing but love for them.

The holes are pretty much for HV and them attys with the big wide bridge... the H cuts cover pretty much everything else even some HV vaping... thoe I have a few pepole that swear by the Holes.. so I have to keep making them...:)

Just ordered a 510 H cut kit based on the review in this thread. My DIY adventure on the ZFM worked well but I think Scotty the professional's version will work better and less likely to leak....

Scotty, I paid by Credit Card and during the check out process, I didn't see an option to change the ship to address. Sometimes I like to receive my orders at work. Did I miss something or you don't offer that option?

Thanks!

Ok, I'm sure this has been asked before but there are a lot of pages and honestly I'm just to lazy to read thru them all. How is this mod (diy/pro version) for leaking? I'm using the double folded frayed ptb and even 1-2 drops to much and it leaks all over, I'm wondering how the atty bridge pushing open the plug doesn't cause the liquid to over saturate the bridge and leak out and I really don't want to dump 1ml +/- in my pcc/pocket/desk and so on? Just curious.

It works because the holes make it so the atomizer is the only part getting liquid into it, it directly wicks into it. Unless it opens on the side of the cart, it won't leak. The H-cuts in particular work well, because the flaps wrap around the atty bridge keeping juice flowing to just the bridge and not sliding down the atomizer walls and out vents. The only problem is, as I said, when the sides of the cap open a bit and allows juice to flow out the side as well as through the middle to the bridge... Occaisionally I will get a squirt of juice in the mouth from this, but it isn't a huge problem and just requires minor adjustments of the cap.
