My first Vamo V2 came from High Desert Vapes, it was a black chrome version in a kit. Had it since May and it's looked brand new since then, I put a Jwrap on it a few weeks ago, though, just because the chrome is slippery to me.

My 2nd Vamo V2 came from fasttech, and it is stainless steel. It survived a fall into a saltwater swimming pool (along with me), and still works perfectly. It also arrived rather quickly, compared to other orders I've placed with fasttech. Bought it in June.

My Vamo V3 came from MyVaporStore, and is stainless steel. I have no idea why this mod isn't photogenic, it looks incredible in person, makes the V2 look like a spare piece of pipe that a plumber had left over. ;)

I also have a V3 from fasttech that is currently lost somewhere in the USPS system.

Thanks for the info. Have you seen any difference between the VAMO from the American vendor and FastTech?

All mine came from American vendors, three V2s and a V3, all Stainless Steel. I stuck with Stainless Steel as a lot of posts complained about the chrome ones, they reported that the threads like to strip and the chrome wears out quickly.

The firing button jiggles a tiny bit on my stainless steel V2 from Fasttech, but other than that, it performs perfectly. Considering the markup from the US vendors, I'm guessing they got them from Fasttech too.

I would recommend you check out HANA MODZ - Home. The price for one of these gems is 256.00, but you will not be disappointed as it boasts power capabilities ranging from 7-20 watts! Also, these hanamodz are completely hand made. I've done business with the owner Trent, and he is a great guy. These far surpass the Provari. They are very reliable, and if you ever have any issues, Trent will help you out with whatever you need. They use the DNA20 power regulating boards (made by evolve), which are the maker of "The Darwin". You will not be disappointed. Just invest in this unit, and I PROMISE you will absolutely love it!! This is the only device I use anymore, because it is far superior to any other device on the market. Hope that helps!

Twisted420 loved the one he reviewed. Mine currently says "Restocking".

I've been vaping for about two and a half years. In June, I finally decided to try out a VV Mod. After looking around online, and reading reviews, I considered the Provari and the Zmax. Cost won the day, and I went with the Sigelei Zmax v3. I recall reading that the Zmax had some issues with the button, but I didn't think it seemed like that big a deal.

What a mistake that was. This thing is a complete piece of [moderated]. I've been struggling with it for three months now, and I've had it. I've got the "half-moon" problem with the "inside" button. I can't use any atomizers lower than 2 ohms or I get a "low load" error. I've had the issues with the system suddenly going into the menu while I'm firing. Sometimes it just powers down instead, and when that happens there's a good chance all of my settings will be reset. In order to get it to turn back on I have to remove the battery and put it back in. I would say I encounter one of these problems about one in every four times, on average, that I fire it. I'm about to throw this thing through the window. Twice, while it was still under warranty, I emailed the vendor I bought it from. I never received a response.

Anyway, with all that said, I'm sold on the idea of a VV mod, and don't want to go back to Ego-type batteries. I'm thinking I should do what I should have done in the first place: get myself a Provari. From what I've read, they are much more reliable. Is that really true? If I buy one, am I going to get any unpleasant surprises?

One thing I like about the Zmax is the variable wattage mode. I like that I can tell it I want 8.5 watts, no matter what kind of atomizer I put on it, and it does it. The Provari doesn't do that, as far as I can tell.

So, I'm looking for recommendations. Is there a good mod that has VW, and is reliable? Or should I just go with a Provari and live with having to adjust the power myself?

I'm not looking to get so into this that I'm building atomizers or something. I just want to be able to slap an atomizer on my mod, drip, and get a consistent vape. I also would like to be able to use the 18650 batteries I have.

Just a reminder of what the OP was asking.
