Hello and welcome. Today I’m going to attempt to do my best to give you a fair, honest, and even possibly informative review on the new Hellvape Dead Rabbit Solo RDA that was sent to me by Hellvape. The Solo RDA is a 22mm diameter single coil rda which I’m sure you could probably guess it was single coil by the name Solo. This is the newest addition to the Dead Rabbit series of products. I have tested many of the more recent ones since I started writing reviews for Hellvape. To this day I still use the Dead Rabbit 3 RDAs that were sent to me for review. The Solo uses a honeycomb style airflow and has 30 holes that can be closed in different ways to provide the best and most flavorful vaping experience that it can. The ones that I received for review are samples and want to mention that retail versions will have an 810 resin drip tip and the stainless version unlike the one I received will have a black transparent tip instead of the white transparent one I received with my sample.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Dead Rabbit Solo RDA is very familiar after receiving many samples from Hellvape. Instead of the usual red, the front of the box is white with orange lettering while the back is orange with white lettering. The front has a clear viewing window so you can see the tank inside which I am a fan of. Of course the Hellvape name and logo are on the front as well as the SOLO name and the Dead Rabbit icon. The back side of the box has the contents list, features, and company information.

They followed suit on the sides of the box with one side being white with orange lettering and the other side being orange with white. The orange side has a drawing of the rda on it and the other side just has the name Dead Rabbit Solo RDA on it.

Once the top of the box is removed, which is no easy task, you can get a better look at the rda. The box was very hard to open and had to use a screwdriver to pry up on the sides to remove the top almost like it was vacuum packed. I received two samples and both were the same. In the picture below you can see the three rows of five honeycomb airflow holes. This is duplicated on the opposite side for a total of 30 airflow holes. Honeycomb design is my favorite type of airflow on an rda. The rda sits in an orange foam insert with the box below it with the Hellvape name on it containing the included accessories. The Solo is a single coil rda so only one coil and cotton thread are included. The included coil is an Ni80 Clapton coil rated at .42 ohms. Also included in the kit is a 510 adapter, coil cutting tool, BF pin, accessory bag, and user manual. I don’t know if others have noticed this but if you look at the side of the coil cutting tool, there is an arrow directing you to the proper slot to use for cutting the coil for that tank.

As I do with any new tank or rda, the first thing I do is disassemble them and clean with hot water and a drop of soap. You can see that the top cap/airflow control for this rda is rather complex in design. This design allows the user to close holes by level or by row. I personally tend to adjust by level.

The single coil deck, which is made of stainless steel has two straight slotted screws to secure the single coil in place. The deck is rather deep on this one and will hold quite a bit of liquid whether you are dripping or using the included BF pin. The first thing I did before cleaning was to install the BF pin in both of the samples I received. This is my preferred method of using rdas. Due to the height of the posts and the depth of the base, it is necessary to cut the legs of the cotton rather long to reach the bottom of the deck.

The chamber of the rda has a reduced area to improve flavor on this 22mm rda. You can see in the pictures how the airflow holes come through to the inside of the chamber and it is reduced to an almost oval shape. The chamber has two notches protruding that lock into the slots cut in the deck to keep the chamber from rotating. The only thing that rotates is the top cap which adjusts the airflow.

Since I received two samples and the coils were the same in each, I decided to build the stainless version with the included .42 Clapton Coil and built the other with a .35 ohm Ni80 coil that I commonly use just to compare. The one on the left in the first picture below is the included .42 coil and the one on the right is my .35 coil. I followed the direction of the coil cutting tool included and cut both coils at 5mm. After getting the coils inserted and aligned I did a burn in on them to check for hot spots. As I mentioned earlier, due to the height of the posts and the depth of the deck, I did a quick measurement and cut the tails of the cotton leaving enough so I had some laying in the bottom of the deck.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I feel like Hellvape has come through with yet another great rda in the Dead Rabbit series. This one can appeal to those that don’t like messing with dual coils or just someone that wants a smaller rda.

I installed the squonk pins on both samples I received. The stainless version with the included .42 ohm coil was mounted on my Therion BF mod. I used a lemon pound cake recipe that is 3mg and which I commonly use for testing review samples. The flavor was very good with the wattage set at 40 watts. I had one row of airflow holes open and three more in the second row. With this mid-range wattage you would feel very comfortable using a single 21700 mod like I did and get decent battery life. Just one of the advantages of a single coil rda. I did use the included drip tip and it was very comfortable to use.

On the second sample I received was installed a .35 ohm 3mm Ni80 coil. On this one I was able to dial the wattage down to 36 watts and ran a similar setting on the airflow since that is where I ended up liking it. This time I used a mango mix that I’ve been running for a while and mix at 6mg. The flavor was very good. I decided to try this rda on my Centaurus BF and switched out the drip tip for one that is a little longer and narrower. Once again I was very pleased with the flavor produced and there was plenty of vapor production with both. I have always felt like honeycomb designed airflow produces better flavor and it does on this one too. I have very much enjoyed testing these two rdas and plan on continuing to use them for the foreseeable future.

I don’t think I need to ask if I would recommend the Hellvape Dead Rabbit Solo RDA for you. I think it’s obvious that it’s a loud and clear yes. Thanks for this page existing! I've been vaping for about 4 years or so, but have always used sub-ohm style devices. Never built/wicked any in my life. I'm having an issue with my newest vape I recently bought, hoping to get some assistance.


*TLDR* RPM5 coils burn fast, looking for tips or replacement suggestions

Previously I had a drag s mini pod vape, my coils wouldnt last crazy long, but average about 3-4 days. I replaced it with a smok rpm 5 pod system and I am blowing through coils left and right. I'm lucky to get a full 24 hours on a coil without getting a burnt taste. I'm using the .23 coils, vaping on 30-35W and using a juice that is 70vg/30pg. I always prime my coils, they are saturated at least 10-15 minutes minimum before I even put them in the device. Tank stays above half 90% of the time. Last year I had a geekvape aegis with a cerberus tank, and I absolutely loved that thing. The coils would almost never burn, I'd end up changing them out after a week or two just for a better flavor profile. I'm tempted to buy another, but browsing sites is seems the supermesh coils are sold out in a lot of sizes, leading me to believe it'd be too difficult to keep extra coils handy. If anyone has any advice on anything I can do to make my coils last longer with my rpm5, or a reasonably priced vape/sub ohm tank that won't kill me with coil replacement costs every day, I'd love to hear it. I also found geekvape now is pairing A ZEUS sub ohm tank with the aegis mod (or very similar) that I used to have, but idk if that is a good tank or not. Sorry for the ramble, just kind of at wits end and looking for suggestions. Thanks!

I've been using claptons since my first build. I never used regular round before. I just read where claptons are better. So I jumped straight to them. My dead rabbit wasn't getting to hot to vape. Someone suggested on Reddit to just use round wire. So, I did my first build wth with 24g kanthal. Like 11 wraps dual it ohms out at .7. I really can't tell a difference between this build and my others at the same wattage same vapor production and flavor. I guess I'm sayin are claptons just hype? I'm no expert or anything. I'm simple shocked

Haha, so I have some a little ridiculous to admit. I have been using the tiny screwdrivers that come with the rdas. To build with this whole time. I keep having problems with my post screws untighting and get atomizer short messages. I ordered a better screw drive to take apart a broke mod. It came with a flathead bit. So I decided to use it to build with and come to find out I wasn't tightening my leads enough with those tiny screw drivers. What are some of the biggest mistakes you have made when starting out building?

Hi I'm new to vaping. The local vape shop recommended the XROS 2 as my first vape. I really enjoyed using the unit, but when it come time to change the POD I started to have problems with it. I installed the pod, filled it, and let it sit for 5 minutes, just as the shop keep showed me, but when I went to use it, I got an awful spitback. I removed the POD to find the juice was also below the POD in the unit. I inspected the pod for cracks and other damage and couldn't find any. I then placed the POD that I was previously using back into the unit, just to see if it was the new POD but to my surprise the previous POD was also giving out a nasty spitback. I'm not sure what else to do to fix the issue. I made sure the battery was charged, used the appropriate amount of liquid but it's still giving the terrible spitback. Can someone please help.

Well here is the story,the other day i was walking in town and i saw a lawyer struggle with his ''spanglish'' while talking with some brits,i was walking by and with some time to spare so i approached him and asked him if he needed some help.

We end up sitting down for a coffee while i translated for like 45 minutes,brits were happy and the lawyer too.

When the brits left he thanked me for the translating and gave me 50 euros,before taking it i told him i really didn't do it because i was expecting to get paid,i just like to help people.

Well anyway,we talked for awhile,told him about my backround,you know the time i owned my own solicitor business,my work with deeds,wills,NIE papers,etc etc.
Also talked that even thou i missed my work i couldn't start again since taking care of my pops takes a lot of my time.
We parted ways and this morning while i was out shopping he asked me if we could meet,was in a bit of a hurry but this lawyer dude gave me good vibes so said sure i got 15 minutes free for you.

We met at a coffee shop and once we sat down and ordered some coffee he took out a plastic bag and handed it over,a brand new Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro (8GB · 256GB)

Said that he knew about my situation with my pops but that he wanted me to do work for him,he noticed my cheapo smartphone i was using the first day we met (Alcatel that cost me like 50 euros) and for the stuff he needs from me i was going to need a better phone.
Basically it will be just be random calls,video chats with clients and some translating of documents.
If time allows it and we schedule around it maybe some meetings with his clients in person.

So yeah i got a part time job for now,still gotta work out the specifics about the pay and all that but hey for now i got myself a new phone and a pretty good one,think it cost 400 euros or more.

Well anyway all this story is just to share with you folks that in the near future i might be making some video vaping apparatus reviews,looked into and yeah it seems a bit daunting.
Well mostly the editing of said video,speaking on camera? Nah i can easily wing that,i mean my previous experience from working in the radio will make the speaking part pretty easy.

To be honest not planning in doing this for money,more like a hobby,something i really enjoy doing.

Gear wise i already got the phone,for starting on a budget i would just need tripod for the phone,arm for the unboxing part of the video and maybe some lightning circle thing i already checked out in Amazon.

If i do this i want to start the right way so i have to get myself a name for the youtube channel,animated intro/outro (probably the same to save on costs) and a logo.
Been racking my head for a name for my channel....its hard,first one that came to mind was ''Thunderlips'',name always makes me chuckle.
Its from Rocky III,Hulk Hogan's name in the movie hehe



Yeah i know,not going with that name,sounds too much like a name i would use in onlyfans hahaha.

Well anyway,just thought i would share this with you folks,will let you know once i get started with all this,got a lot of research to do before i dip my foot into the youtube pool.
