Yes, it’s me again. Thanks for joining me for yet another review. This time I will be taking a look at a small but powerful pod device which is another pod in the Argus line of products made by Voopoo. I was sent the Argus Z pod kit by Voopoo in order to provide you with a fair, honest, and hopefully informative review. The Z is a pretty small device but a bit of a powerhouse for a pod of this size. It of course utilized the ITO atomization technology while being powered by a 900mah battery which is impressive considering the size. The body is made of aluminum which makes it lightweight yet durable. The pod is compatible with the Argus Pod and the Argus P1. It also has a very nice appearance which never hurts for a starter kit such as this. So by now you’re probably thinking that it’s just another no frills small pod device. It is true that it doesn’t have adjustable output or adjustable airflow but this one shines in the performance for me without those extra features.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

I have to admit after reviewing several small pod devices one after the next lately that I wasn’t really expecting much from yet another pod kit with only one pod included. I however was pleasantly surprised by how well the Argus Z performs. Yes, it is a simple pod starter kit that is auto draw only with no airflow adjustment but it really packs a punch with 17 watt rated output. I see in the promotional material that the Z is advertised as an MTL pod but I am not really getting that with the included .7 ohm pod. To me it is a solid RDL vaping experience. Yes, you could do a very loose MTL if you want but if you are looking for a tight MTL then this isn’t the one for you. I personally like RDL very much and that is why this one impressed me.

The packaging for the Z has a clear window on the front exposing the device to the shopper. I personally like this type of packaging for these small pods. Also is the Voopoo and Argus Z names printed on the front with a few features at the bottom. The back side has a contents list, company information, a warning, and a large sample sticker which won’t be on your production model.

The sides of the box have some QR codes that you can use with your phone to get more information on the Argus Z, an authenticity sticker, and a bar code indicating the color version contained inside. As you can see, I received the Navy Blue version which I like very much. Such a nice looking color on this device.

The Argus Z comes in a plastic tray with the single pod, user manual, and charging cord sitting under the tray when you open the end of the box and slide the tray. I know this is an expensive starter kit but feel like it should come with a second pod. I’ve been seeing a lot of these single pod starter kits lately and feel like it wouldn’t cost much more to put a second pod in the kit.

The Argus Z has a smooth body on the bottom and a textured top which gives it a nice look in my opinion. On one side is the USB-C charging port with the words “Designed by Voopoo” underneath on the smooth part of the body. It’s kind of nice to have the port on the side instead of the bottom for a change. On the opposite side the words “Argus Z” are printed on the bottom and about 1/3 of the way down from the top there are three battery indicator lights that illuminate when you take a puff or are charging the battery. The battery light indications are as follows.

• Pod detected = Light flashes once in green
• Low power = Light flashes ten times in green
• Charging = Indicator light is blue
• Fully Charged = Indicator light is green
• Overtime vaping = Light flashes twice in green
• Short Circuit = Light flashes once in green

As you can see, the light sequence on this one is a bit different where I am used to seeing a three light sequence indicating the battery level in green, blue, and red. With three indicator lights on the front, I’m surprised that they didn’t have one, two, and three indicator lights show the battery level by the number of lights illuminated. However, this kit targets the beginner or smoker trying to switch so was kept about as simple and inexpensive as possible.

The opening for the pod on the battery portion has the usual gold plated spring loaded contacts, a raised airflow sensor inlet opening, and two magnets that hold the pod in place very securely.

When I first started using the Argus Z, I couldn’t quite figure out where the large amount of airflow was coming from. I just kept moving my hand in different positions until I finally figured it out. Normally on a pod there are one or two holes on the side or the bottom to allow the airflow but this one is different. There is a notch on either side of the body that allows the airflow into the pod.

As I mentioned earlier, the .7 ohm pod included in the kit is also compatible with the Argus Pod and Argus P1. The pods are mostly clear. Voopoo was nice enough to include a spare pod in my package with the kit. The Voopoo name is printed on one side while the rubber plug that covers the fill port is on the other side and is clearly marked .7 ohms. Speaking of clear, it’s nice that the pods are clear enough to easily see the liquid level inside. Also, the way the pod sits in the battery, you can see basically the entire pod portion that holds the liquid so you don’t need to remove the pod to see how much liquid is left inside.

The mouthpiece is very comfortable and is what I would call a medium sized duck bill shape. The base of the pod has two hidden magnets. I’m not really sure why it was decided to hide them under the plastic but they are not physically visible. The bottom of the pod has four airflow holes that allow quite a bit of airflow.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

It’s not all that often that a simple pod like the Argus Z without airflow or output control impresses me enough that I would consider buying more pods for it. It is a very simplistic and small starter kit with no real bells or whistles. Where it shines is with the .7 ohm pod, 17 watt output, and large airflow for a pod. I did notice that the draw tightened slightly after 3-4 fills of the pod but was still able to use it as an RDL vape. If you like loose MTL or slightly tight RDL then this one would be a good fit for you.

The auto draw function works very well on the Argus Z. The ITO atomization technology really works. I had zero leaking or condensation after a week using the same pod. The pods have a 2ml capacity and being clear helps to keep track of liquid level. I was actually surprised how long the 2ml of liquid lasted with the .7 ohm coil. I was able get through three refills before the battery needed charged and I didn’t see any reduction in output all the way until the battery was low.

So, would I recommend the Argus Z for you? If you like loose MTL or slightly tight RDL and want a simplistic and small pod for pocket carrying out and about then yes I would. I’ve really enjoyed using this one and it could easily take a place in my work pod rotation.

► Eleaf iStick Power Mono; First Impressions:
iStick Power Mono with its cylindrical form factor similar to that of a tube is really the best for ergonomics and its dimensions are contained considering that the Mod houses an incredible and generous 3,500mAh battery! In addition, iStick Power Mono becomes part of the smart vaping kits by Eleaf. With its ergonomic shape and soft leather finish, the Mod Power Mono not only offers comfort but is also capable of reaching 80W of power to generate flavor and big clouds. In fact the Mod is coupled with the GTL Pod Tank which uses the updated Mesh Power Coils GTL Black series and is compatible with all the other GTL Coils. In the image below you can see iStick Power Mono kit together with Eleaf FlasQ Pod Mod Kit, both of which share the excellent platform of GTL Coils.



I received for this test iStick Power Mono kit in the Green Black color version which is characterized by a gunmetal-colored zinc alloy body and a soft black / green leatherette cushion with red stitching, this decoration completely covers the handle and most of the side panels. On the edges of the frame there are two elegant writing in italics; on one side "Eleaf" and on the other side "Power Mono".



► Eleaf iStick Power Mono; Screen and control keys:
On the front there is a large and convenient Fire switch that performs the adjustment functions together with the classic adjustment buttons. The "+" and "-" keys are located below the display and just above the USB-C charging port. The monochrome display is an Eleaf classic because it is arranged vertically and is very reminiscent of that of the Pico. The fonts are clear and well-lit, and the various information you can see in the display are essential but useful.

► Eleaf iStick Power Mono; Operation Guide:
• Power On / Off: Press Fire 5 times.
• Stealth On / Off: Press the Fire and "-" keys simultaneously.
• Locking / unlocking the adjustment buttons: Press the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously.
• 180 ° screen rotation: In the power off state, press the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously.
• Choice of vaping mode: Press Fire 3 times in quick succession, the device will display the current vaping mode. Press the "+" or "-" buttons to switch from Wattage mode to Bypass mode and vice versa. Press Fire to confirm the mode you have chosen.
• Wattage Recommendation: When a coil is detected, the chipset recommends the best wattage for the coil according to its resistance.
• Memory function: You can freely adjust the wattage to your preference, however after vaping at least twice, the chipset will remember this wattage setting for the same resistance.





The lower base of the iStick Power Mono is wide enough to form a solid support for the Mod that can remain stable and vertical. On the base you can see; numerous and important vent holes for the integrated 3500mAh cell, two French screws, the disposal logo and the C E brand.



The 510 cup is central at the top of the mod, the pin is gold plated and spring loaded. iStick Power Mono comfortably accommodates the 25mm of the GTL Pod Tank, but you can also install other atomizers with a diameter up to 32mm !! Without external protrusion.



► Eleaf iStick Power Mono; GTL Pod Tank:
This tank is made up of a classic dark-colored, circular-shaped Pctg POD that uses the magnetic connection to match a metal base with 510 thread and integrated AFC.





The cartridge can be refilled with e-liquid from below, by lifting the usual rubber pad you can insert up to 4.5ml of e-liquid. The GTL Coil is inserted from below with a slight pressure.



The metal base of the GTL Pod Tank is equipped with a rotating AFC system with end stops. For DL / RDL extractions you can take advantage of two large opposing slots that measure 12x3mm when they are wide open. In this way there is really a considerable influx of air towards the coil to generate large clouds of vapor. But Eleaf has also thought about the types of MTL vaping. In fact, the AFC system also has two opposing rows of small holes that can be selected starting from 1 on each side, for a really good regulation even of the restricted air flow.



► Eleaf iStick Power Mono; GTL Black Coils:
The kit includes two updated "Black Coils" resistors both Mesh, one 0.4Ω and one 0.8Ω. The GTL coils platform also includes the other "non-colored" versions of GTL coils but also includes another 1.2Ω Black Coil for MTL, all of which are compatible with this cartridge and can be purchased separately.



► Eleaf iStick Power Mono; Vaping test & final conclusions:
iStick Power Mono is a Mod with an ergonomic form factor very exploited and used by companies over the years. However Power Mono excels not only for its excellent finishes but also for its intelligent function of detecting the best power for each coil installed. I have also tried with other aftermarket atomizers and in many cases this Smart function is useful for distracted or inexperienced users. The large 3,500mAh internal battery really offers a lot of vaping autonomy and also a fairly rapid charging phase. The GTL Pod tank has received an evolved AFC base with a pretty good regulation of the airflow, for this reason you will easily be able to get a really interesting flavor performance, with the possibility to vary your way of vaping every time, simply by choosing the most suitable GTL coils. The 0.4Ω GTL coil is all you need to produce big thick clouds of vapor with tasty and deep DL / RDL extractions. With the 0,8Ω GTL coil you can get satisfying RDL / MTL type draws, and despite the wide and fixed type drip-tip, I was surprised by the excellent low wattage performance and the ease of regulating a flow of the restricted air. I really feel like recommending iStick Power Mono Kit to those approaching the world of Vaping, because this is a reliable product, simple to use, cheap, and guarantees high efficiency in a rather wide range that allows you to vary your experiences with satisfaction and without purchase other devices.

The Centaurus M200 has a classic and simple design, but the thing that immediately catches the eye is that the usual 3 adjustment buttons are not present, but instead there is an adjustable knob or "potentiometer" with a triple integrated function of key lock, led and power regulation. The switching on and off of the Mod are instead delegated to a quick sliding key. For me it is always a great satisfaction to receive a Mod from the "Centaurus" line for my tests because I have always believed that Lost Vape is one of the most prestigious brands in the entire Chinese Vaping industry, in fact this manufacturer has always used for its premium production the DNA chipsets, and for some years has developed a simplified electronics called "Quest" to offer the same devices at a lower price. In the image below you can see the Centaurus M200 Mod from this test which is equipped with the Quest chipset, and the Thelema Solo with the prestigious DNA chipset which is also one of my favorite Mods.



The two side panels of the M200 are removable by inserting a fingernail in the appropriate holes found on the bottom of the Mod, Lost Vape announces that a wide range of colored panels will soon be available to customize your Centaurus.



The image below shows the side opposite the batteries/compartment which is composed of a black panel screwed to the Mod using 4 torx screws. The two removable aluminum panels contain two powerful magnets inside and fit perfectly into the mod without strange movements or abnormal noises.



Below you can see how the two removable panels are identical to each other, with the white Centaurus logo in the center, what changes between them are the identifying writings (white), on one side "Centaurus" and on the other "Lost vape ". The slots for the two cells are made of fireproof material and contain clear indications on the direction of insertion of the cells, to help the user insert the 18650 batteries the upper contacts are spring loaded, moreover the extraction of the cells is facilitated by the presence of a "Lost Vape" branded strap.



On the front of the mod you can see the 3 in 1 Jog Dial interface at the top which is composed of a knurled bezel, the bezel is 360 ° rotatable and the potentiometer function allows you to increase the power by turning clockwise, and to decrease the power by turning counterclockwise. The other options include vaping by pressing the button and monitoring the charge level of the cells through the 5 different colors that the LED can take.



As you may have guessed this is a "Mod sample" and there are some limitations; on the production models there will be two different modes which are Normal Mode and RDA DIY mode and the function to be able to lock the power adjustment by 3 clicking the button.



The power regulation of the M200 is done with 3 different progressions, and according to the wattage as follows:
• 0 to 40W The increment is 1W for each click
• 42 to 100W The increment is 2W for each click
• 100 to 200W The increment is 5W for each click

The LED for the energy control of the batteries depending on their state can take on five different colors during vaping as follows:
• Charge level 0-20%: The LED is Red
• Charge level 20-40%: The LED is White
• Charge level 40-60%: The LED is Blue
• Charge level 60-80%: The LED is Green
• Charge level 80-100%: The LED is Purple

On the bright display, there are the classic indicators of the battery level, then there are all the useful information such as; selected power, coil resistance, puff counter, duration of the last puff. Above the USB-C charging port there is the On / Off sliding button which has been adopted on many Mods, and Lost Vape has also decided to insert it, this quick button can be convenient but I don't think it is necessary, personally I still prefer the classic lock / unlock setting.



The steel plate with 510 connection is slightly raised to avoid scratches when "handling" the atomizers on it, it is also screwed onto the top of the mod in a central position, the pin is gold plated and is spring loaded. Centaurus M200 can accommodate tanks up to 26mm without protrusions.

The quality of an important brand like Lost Vape is measured starting from the Packaging and this is really beautiful, the Mod like all the devices of this company has excellent finishes, and sturdy materials have been used for its construction. The 3 in 1 Jog Dial system replaces the classic adjustment buttons and in my opinion it integrates perfectly into the classic and minimalist design of this Mod. In addition, the 3 in 1 Jog Dial allows the user to use a maximum of two fingers for any setting operation . The simple soul of the Centaurus M200 provides the only VW mode. The Chipset Quest 2.0 (simplified) manages the residual charge of the cells really well, provides stable and precise indications and delivers the power well. So if you are looking for an attractive, powerful dual Battery Mod with a very good control system, Centaurus M200 could be well for you.
