Snails - Response on Threads Part 8

Good afternoon all. :)

Afraid not , we depend on a window unit and it’s so hot it’s barely tolerable in the cutting room right now. We were blessed with a nice rain this afternoon and it helped cool things down temporarily. You should have seen the steam rising from the asphalt!

Spaghetti for supper tonight.
Good afternoon, dale.:)

The Lurker Thread

Good afternoon everyone

Happy Belated Birthday, Dale  Hope you had a great day!! I’m sorry you are having to deal with all that heat. Be safe on that e bike!

Rat2, you were correct, Dh says thank you for the bday wishes :) Glad you had a nice road trip. I’m all for the beach…let’s go!

Yay for a successful first week retired! Hope it continues to be smooth sailing. $144,000 for a car is criminal! Smh!

We didn’t make it to Virginia this summer but instead rented a lake house in Honeoye, NY with my parents and bro/sil. We even brought Lucy with us. It was a lot of fun and we are considering renting the same place next summer. (It was on airbnb, vrbo and a couple other sites, Rat2 I chuckled when you said your friend cleans for them) it was exactly as advertised and we were thrilled as first time vacationers in that world lol I will try to upload a pic. So relaxing I could have stayed the rest of the summer.

Off tomorrow, celebrating our 20th anniversary. China is the traditional gift so we are having Chinese for dinner  Hope everyone had a great day! I’m working on unpacking/laundry and a quick groc list.

Kanger anyone?

Some years off the juice I went through a nasty divorce, caved and started smoking with my then new girlfriend, now wife of 10 years.
Sick of it, I dug out my Kanger sub box mini and top tank nano from the box in my closet its been in for those 10 years, and not only does it still work, but it holds a charge a full 2+ days for me!
I still haven't opened the spare battery I bought back then, lol. I guess I didn't need it after all.

What's the expiration on e juice? This stuff is obviously still good, haven't had a smoke since 6/23, qnd still have 1 50ml bottle of RY4, if that's still a thing :)

2 questions, who makes the best tobacco juice these days, and where's the best online resource to purchase it?

Well, make it 3 questions!..where can buy Kanger SSOC replacement coils? My preferred supplier (Rocky mountain vapor) seems no more :( .

Fluorocarbon Coating of Coil Materials to Reduce Catalytic Oxidation Possibly Safely Feasable With Modern Electrical Engineering

I believe it is possible using advanced temperature control techniques for coils, especially in disposable devices which are more consistent across units and are less liable to be tampered with, to coat the coils with a fluoropolymer like Teflon (PTFE) or PFA while still preventing the coatings thermal depredation and production of harmful byproducts. This would, in theory, eleminate catalytic oxidation of juice resulting in fewer harmful oxidation products and lead to a better and more consistent taste over time.

Coils coated in this way would also be way easier to clean and way less likely to accumulate "crud" overtime because the primary mechanism for creation of such cruds is catalytic oxidation and subsequent polymerization of vape juice compounds easily sticking to the porous and inevitably textured surface of the metal (not to mention the increased chemical bonding of the crud to metals due to van der Waals forces which would be virtually absent from fluoropolymers).

Even ceramics don't offer this benefit as they are almost by definition porous. The coating should have a smooth surface down to the nano level, be chemically inert and not "sticky". All of these could be achieved with fluoropolymer coatings and when combined with the increasingly cheaper advances in forms of temperature control, could be very safe and effective.

What do you guys think?

Full disclosure: I do have a university and self-taught background in chemistry, physics, materials science and nanotechnology.

Even still I'm interested in challenges to my idea, criticisms and constructive feedback.
Interesting concept.

Given a PTFE or other (Possibly Silicone) structure with an embedded Temperature Controlled heating wire:

- the structure would be easily cleanable
- the embedded coil would never make contact with 'juice' and therefore never degrade because of it

I could imagine a fixed structure or 'tube' in which the user feed a 'wick' inside. (other structures could be made)

High temperature Silicon has already gained market share in Baking and other household uses.

(YES, the 'Teflon' coatings of old were NOT the industrial PTFE materials that are used in many applications)

Hey!

New member here, getting back into the scene after a long hiatus with pod systems. It's so good to be back

Current setups:
- Mod's House Ryzr80 w/ Ghost RBTA
- DDP Squonker w/ Nitrous 22 RDA

On the lookout for a new combo though... Perhaps a MTL RTA and single 18650 mod. Any suggestions?
Sorry my experiences are more then a bit dated but...

- I just picked up an Aegis Solo3 single 18650 mod that checks all the boxes. Not to large/heavy or expensive.

- As far as MTL RTA's go, IMHO you can't go wrong with a Kayfun of whatever is currently available. I'll generally have a number of KF5's in my rotation. While I use them 'wide open' to provide a slightly restricted DTL hits, on their lowest airflow settings they can be used for MTL vaping.
