I got some disposables, but I didn't like throwing batteries into the common trash, so I stopped. Also, they have more nicotine, making it easier to get addicted, and you never really know what's in them or if the liquid was made in a clean environment.
I mean, I'm still addicted to smoking with mods. But I don't smoke during the day; I take some puffs when I wake up and then only at night at home. When I was using disposables, I was craving during the middle of the day or when traveling.
But I also like to "smoke," not just for the nicotine, but for the act of inhaling and exhaling vapor. Disposables are meant for small puffs, not like an RTA that would fill the entire room with vapor in just a few puffs. Maybe that's because I used to smoke hookah.
Oh, and I also cough a lot using disposables. With an RTA, I can vape for 5 seconds and get no throat hit (using 3mg freebase or 6mg salt on mesh).
I understand why someone wouldn't want an RTA. I rewick every three days, and when you're tired, it can be boring. However, I have a pre-built tank just for those cases (a PnP X). To this day, I've bought ten of them and still have six. But now that I've learned how to wick, I don't see myself needing them anymore. I used them when I couldn't wick properly, which often resulted in horrible mesh dry hits.
I still have a bad feeling about disposables and how they're flooding the market. I'd really like to see more people engaging with vaping as a hobby, not just for nicotine or abusing it. Disposables produce a lot of trash: screens, batteries, and metals. All of that also ends up being more expensive. Their flavors are good, despite being super oversaturated, but if you get nice juices, refillables are even better.
