Heather's Heavenly Vapes - THE BIG THREAD (Part 6)

Hey kids. Been awhile. I got busy in a hurry. Includes my truck catching fire. Came out of the store and a firetruck was next to my truck. He said someone called it in. I saw no fire. Lifted the hood and sure enough there was a fire. Roasted a bunch of wires, tubes, and stuff. So I’ve been repairing the damage. Still have the cruise control and AC not working. Other than that it’s back to normal. I dodged a bullet big time. It could have been way worse. Not certain what started the fire. I did discover the connection at the alternator was sparking. It’s guarded with an insulator. I cleaned up the connection and it was fine. Not sure if that sparking was the cause or effect. Anyway, it is what it is. Hotter than Hades out there. Hope y’all are doing good.

What coil Ω's and wattages are you using with the 26g SS316L?

I mostly use SS316L. 27g single wire, 26g single wire, 26/36 Clapton and 28/36 Clapton. I prefer 316L because I can take an RBA from a mech to a regulated mod running TC without any changes.

And for me, SS316L vapes cleaner versus kanthal. I never liked kanthal, it had an obnoxious metallic taste that I did not like.

My coils range from 0.5Ω to just under 1.0Ω.

Using 26g 316L I have no problems vaping from 14.5w to 30w (MTL/RDL/DL) on a regulated mod in TC or in wattage mode. Thinner gauges I am around 10.5w - 18w. Just depends. With regulated mods I mostly vape in TC, occasionally in wattage mode.

With lower ohm coils (ex. 0.5Ω) I use Samsung 15A and 20A, Sony 25A or Molicel 35A 18650 batteries in mech and regulated mods.

I do use Vapcell 10A 18350's in a few mechs, but I never run builds lower than 0.6Ω with those.

18500, 20700 and 21700 batteries also get used in mechs and regulated.
I have a 3.0, 6/7 wrap 26g kanthal coil in the Lemo. Comes out at 0.93 ohms. Right now I have it set at 14W. 15 or 16 are good as well, 17W is a getting a little hot for my taste.

Most of my batteries now are Molicell 10W. Do you reckon that is OK? I thought there was an equation where you fed in ohms and watts and got the answer in amps.

I never tried SS in power mode. I know people do that but I couldn't get my head around what would happen as the wire heated up and the resistance got higher. But since I have 100' of 26g SS wire maybe I should give it a shot.

I never had a problem with the taste of kanthal.

She's staying in College Station but the fiivesome of roommates are going their separate ways. One couple has already gotten married, and all but one have graduated. Their lease is up at the end of the month. Do can't move into their new apartment until September so their stuff is going into storage and they will stay at an Airbnb for a month.
I see.

Superman? I always liked the Adventures of Superman with George Reeves.

Saw a couple of the Superman movies, and well, they weren't for me.

I used to enjoy reading Superman comic books when I was a youngster. And some of the other super hero ones.
Superman with George Reeves, that's an oldie!
