The display on the Pro 2 is a .96” TFT display. It clearly displays battery percentage, wattage, puff count, and coil resistance. There are also six different screen themes and animations that can be turned on or off to save battery. When using the .4 ohm pods, the output can be adjusted in .5 watt increments. When using higher resistance pods then the user is restricted to Power, Normal, and Eco modes. The Pro 2 also offers super pulse mode. Super Pulse Mode intelligently pulses power throughout your draw to maintain consistent vapor and flavor, even as the battery level depletes. It’s a very nice feature to have.
The Pro 2 is a dual activation device which means it can be fired by pressing the fire button or used as an auto draw device. The device is easy to operate: 5 clicks to turn it on/off, 3 clicks to access power adjustment, and 4 clicks to enter the main menu where you can lock the screen, disable animations, clear the puff counter, and even view your puff history by day. 2 clicks will take you in to the theme settings.
There are two of the new Corex 3.0 .4ohm pods included in the Pro 2 kit. This works out well for me since that is my favorite pod to use with the Xros series of devices. VAPORESSO claims that COREX 3.0, with its new Hive Mesh coil structure, custom chimney design, and aerospace-grade materials, produces 40% more aroma, 30% more flavor, and a 30% improvement in smoothness and performance stability compared to the previous COREX 2.0. I have been using the 2.0 pods up until this point. I feel like there is a noticeable difference but wouldn’t swear that they are that much better. The new pods are still a top fill pod where the mouthpiece pops of to refill. The physical appearance to me is much the same but the difference is in the internal construction. The Pro 2 is fully compatible with all of the Xros series of pods. The pods have the usual magnets and contacts on the bottom so I see no need to show you a picture of the bottom of the pods. Also, the inside of the pod opening on the Pro 2 has the usual spring loaded contacts, magnets, and airflow sensor. You can see in the picture below that there is a slight amount of condensation after a couple weeks of use.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Having been a long time user of the Xros series of devices, the Xros Pro 2 is a welcome addition with the upgraded Corex 3.0 pods and the increase of battery capacity from 1200mah on the previous version to 2000mah on the Pro 2. I had actually purchased a kit prior to receiving this one for review so I have quite a bit of experience and use with the Pro 2.
It does have some different themes and animations if that is something that you are into but I personally could honestly care less about features like this. I use the Xros devices for pocket carry at work and some use at home when I want an auto draw device. I like being able to lock the fire button so it doesn’t accidentally get fired in my pocket. The 2000mah battery capacity is what talked me into buying yet another pod device when I have so many after doing reviews and purchasing my favorites.
I’d like to thank Sourcemore for sending the Vaporesso Xros Pro 2 pod kit for this review. It will definitely see continued use over time. Thanks goes out to the readers also. Below is a link to the website for your viewing pleasure.
