New to rba and the one thing I cant do is get them to glow even. They tend to glow from the middle then the ends slowly start to glow. How big an issue is this. They have been vapeing fine.
Just got another load of Sobucky Super Aromas. Will be mixing them up as soon as I can, short steeping, and some more testing !!! Same testing setup as before. SteamCrave RDTA v.1 with dual 24ga. Kanthal vertical coils with fresh cotton and dry burned coils before each test. Tested at 65w.
**Apricot (SSA) 1% (10-29-21)** -- First one on deck in Series III of my Sobucky tests. This smelled really natural and accurate in the bottle, and that didn't change much throughout the test. My initial thoughts were a well rounded, middle-bodied apricot. I presented as quite natural tasting with no artificial-ness, and seemed fairly relaxed, and most centered in the mid and lower notes. What did seem to be missing was most of the high end, bright notes. It was actually smooth, but still felt lacking some of the tartness that real apricots have. Not bad at all, but presenting as fairly relaxed, it would appear that it could get overshadowed when mixing. At 1% it was full, and pretty accurate, with about a mid-level sweetness. Even missing the bright notes, and the tartness, it didn't feel lacking. Overall, a good mid bodied, natural apricot, that was fairly relaxed. It felt great @ **8.4/10**.
**Blackcurrant (SSA) 1% (10-29-21)** -- Blackcurrants (i.e. Black Currants) have had a rough time in the US, most notably when they were banned in the early 1900's because of their ability to host a fungus which threatened the US Timber Industry. They are still banned in some states. Very excited to be testing this "Forbidden Fruit" from Sobucky. Exactly like the fruit, this flavor had the characteristic notes, the pectin induced jammy-ness, and a sprinkling of the tartness, just like the fruit. Wow. BC's are high in pectin which makes them perfect for jams and jellies, and this flavor truly captured the almost jammy notes. I think truly defining the "taste" of BC's is complicated, but needless to say, Sobucky did a great job of bottling it up in this one. Sweetness was about mid level, with some (just enough) tartness, and it had a slight musky-ness, much like MF's Blueberry, and don't worry, it just plain WORKED. Very natural tasting, no off putting notes or florals at this weight, and it was actually fairly complex. While running this test, I kept wondering, if I'd ever tried, or made a Black Currant Custard !!!! After emptying the tester, I could find NO faults with this one, and could think of a myriad of berry, and jammy uses for this one. Always a sign of a great flavor. Hands down **9.9/10**.
**Butter Cream (SSA) 1% (10-29-21)** -- Many people don't know there are FOUR different types of Butter Cream. American, Swiss Meringue, Italian Meringue, and French Meringue. Which one WAS this offering from Sobucky ?? I'm not 100% sure, but I AM 100% sure, I love this flavor. Without delving into the complexities of which exact version of a BC this is, it was obvious to me, even upon smelling it, that it was a winner. Very spot on for exactly what I need out of a BC. At 1% it was very nicely full and present, and of course, EXUDED (to ooze forth), a buttery goodness. It was indeed a tick or two above mid level sweet (DUH, frosting), but it seemed to be FAR more than just sweet, and butter. There was almost a cupcake like element present, albeit at a lower level, but it really brought this up to another level. I've had some BC's that were buttery, and sweet, but felt thin, or lacking. NOT the case here. The butter elements didn't favor completely natural or artificial, but with elements of each. You could literally almost use this solo. Not a custard, not a bakery, but it tasted far more substantial than just a mere "frosting". Nothing out of place, nothing off-putting, and the buttery creamy-ness just can't be overstated. If you need a Butter Cream, that's fairly substantial, the almost oozes buttery-ness, this may just be the one for you. Easily a **9.5/10**.
**Candy Floss (SSA) 1 (10-30-21)** -- Alright, this one took me a while to nail down for your guys, but I GOT it. Alright, many of you (like I) may have assumed, just a Cotton Candy, right ?? Well I did. Now it IS a Cotton Candy of sorts, BUT, there's some other things swirling around in here, that I think I finally figured out. OK, just imagine a Cotton Candy, mixed with an almost very light melon, with a hard candy twist. There you go, and that took me a while to really get it nailed down. At 1% it was actually great, but I suspect you MIGHT be able to push it a little higher. Above mid level sweet, and it's hard to fully convey how the almost melon-like notes, and hard candy notes move this one from just a simple CC, but they do. Now the melon as I'm calling it, might differ for you, but I couldn't think of a better comparison, and it's very light, far below the hard candied notes. All in, it really was far more complex than just a simple CC, and it kept you guessing, which made it interesting to test out. Tons of uses for this one, and depending on the notes YOU get from it, would dictate it's uses. For a surprisingly full cotton candy with a twist, this one should work for you. Sweetly placing this at **9.0/10**.
**Caramel Biscuit (SSA) 1% (10-30-21)** -- Damn you Sobucky, ..... Damn you to hell !!!! OK, hehe, let's go with my FIRST thoughts on this one. "Damn, this is a One-Shot". Having not tested Sobucky's Biscuit yet (it's coming), and only tried their Shortbreat (excellent), I had high hopes for this one. Well, they didn't let me down. Absolutely delicious. Completely blown away by how much presence, flavor, and mouthfeel they got out of this one, AND, at 1%. The biscuit and caramel were just perfectly paired, with maybe it being split 55% Caramel, 45% Biscuit. The way they paired them, left both of the two elements free to swirl around and peek out more or less than the other one, as neither dominated, nor got lost. As far AS the Biscuit, I couldn't really think of a direct comparison to it, which was interesting. The Caramel was almost too good, with an almost buttery rich texture, without being overtly buttery. Sweetness was a few ticks above mid level for you "is that too sweet-ers" out there, but even at that, it wasn't sickening, or fatiguing. At times I almost got a small shot of toast much like Solub Arome's Breakfast, but nowhere near as strong. I'll know more when I get to Sobucky's Shortbread Biscuit to see if that is still present. As it stood, it was shockingly good, and full at the low weight of 1%. For you US'ers, it's not a "Bisquik" biscuit, and for you UK'ers, it's like YOUR kind of biscuit, which is more of a cookie. Dry enough to keep it's biscuit on, but not too dry. If you like a European Biscuit, and love it with a Creamy Caramel with an almost buttery richness, this one SHOULD be on your list. I actually double checked myself throughout the test, LOOKING for anything I could nitpick, and I couldn't. Too damned tasty, for even a minor markdown. If you hate this, you'll HAVE to let me know, as to my tastes, squarely a **10/10**.
**Cinnamon Apple Pie (SSA) 1.25% (10-30-31)** -- Who doesn't love more pie ?? I love the pies, and couldn't wait to get into this one. In the bottle this smelled more like almost a tart green apple, and when testing it, some of that faded, but it really felt like it was missing the "baked" aspect. There was some "filling" element in there, which kept it interesting, some very light crust, and a hint of spice. The more I tried, the less cinnamon I could detect, which left it a bit lacking, as well as the light crust element. Not a bad vape, but it just didn't seem to really drive it home. Almost mid level sweet, and no off notes could be found. Overall the mouthfeel was very good, and it was smooth, but the all but missing cinnamon, lacking crust, and some missing "baked apple"-ness kept it from being stellar. Felt fairly placed at **6.9/10**.
**Classic Oat Flakes (SSA) 1% (10-31-21)** -- "These are not the oats you are looking for". Yeah, but not every one can be a winner, right ? I've had corn flakes, and oatmeal, but never Oat Flakes. This one I would call "Barley a HINT of Oats". I looked long and hard FOR the Oats, and every once in a while I got just a whiff, but other than that, this was kind of a non-descript hodge podge of sorts, with the added bonus of every so often getting an almost medicinal off note. On the bright side, it was fairly smooth, nicely sweet, and had a hint of creamy-ness to it, but beyond that, I just didn't get any grains, oats, or flakes. The good news is, that the not so great ones, make you appreciate the great ones that much more.
**Oats (CSC) 1.5% (6-20-21)** – I think it’s safe to say I was COMPLETELY unprepared for this flavor. Not a lot of oats out there, because it’s HARD to get right. I assumed this would be some general bakery with grains, passed off as a “kinda close” flavor. Boy was I wrong. FULL on, OATS !!! No puffed wheat, not corn, not AP, OATS !!! It made me immediately think of Quaker Oats, no questions, no hesitations. Below mid level sweet, and the best part, it wasn’t FLAVORED. Blank slate, spot on oats. That’s it, that’s all. Was delicious at 1.5%, and man, the opportunities to use this one will be endless, and you could tweak to your hearts content. This, ladies and gentlemen is an impressive flavor, and I’m glad I added this one to the list. If you want some spot on oats, nicely sweetened, this is the one you should get. Full stop. **10/10** .
With that said, will have to leave this one at a paltry **2.9.10**.
**Cola (SSA) 1% (10-31-21)** -- Wow, whatta Cola Sobucky has done here. Just outstanding, and then some. After having spent quite a bit of time with this one, I think it's safe to say it's the BEST Cola I have ever tried. It's not that the other colas are terrible, but when you try most of them, you often times find yourself saying, "Yeah, that's kinda close, but ......". Well with this one, you won't. To my tastes, it is like a pairing of Pepsi, and RC Cola, at about a 60% Pepsi, 40% RC Cola. I didn't really get any Coke from this one. Probably one of the most amazing things, is somehow Sobucky figured out how to get FIZZ in the Cola. Don't know how they did it, and most, if not all others, seem to fall flat (literally). Well combining the fizz with an accurate Cola, just leaves you wanting nothing. Both myself and @Psycho_316 have been playing around with some ....
.... with great success. Sweetness was a little above mid level, and it was very present at 1%, but I've seen even higher usage rates. The fizz was slightly stronger off the shake, but was still present after steeping. If you want a fizzy cola, that's accurate, this is the one. **10/10**.
**Cranberry Jam (SSA) 1% (10-31-21)** -- Having seldom tried anything Cranberry, I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. Out of the gate it was unmistakably Cranberry, but shifted to the somewhat sweeter jammy side. @ 1% it was full flavored, but somehow still felt fairly restrained. The tart and sourness were present, but fairly reduced from a full Cranberry, possibly because of the Jam aspect. Throughout the test, the dark berried notes continued with a somewhat tart, jammy finish. Overall it was a convincingly natural taste with nothing off-putting. It's relaxed nature could be supplemented by another Cranberry or berries. Possibly increasing above 1% might help some. About the only take offs would be for the somewhat relaxed nature of it, with no other oddities. Overall, a convincing natural tasting Cranberry, that was jammed up enough that some of the expected tartness/sourness was not present. Decently placed at **8.8/10**.
**Dark Blackberry (SSA) 0.5% (10-31-21)** -- WHEW, this one got away from me in a HURRY. When smelling these prior to testing I could tell this one was going to get squirrely, and decided to mix it @ 0.5%, and even at that rate, I was getting an almost lavender soap ?? !!! Rinsed, flushed, diluted to 0.25%, and about the same effect. Sorry guys, I was looking for a dark, tart blackberry, but instead I was greeted with a lovely shade of Lavender Soap. If you DID wish to attempt to use this one, you may have to go even lower than 0.25%, but at my final reduction, it did not feel over flavored, or ceiling smashing. You were forewarned. Sadly, this one will ride the **1/10**.
**Fruit Hard Candy (SSA) 1% (11-1-21)** -- Well this one turned out to be a surprise. I had expected more of just a hard candy flavor, but it also had a brighter, somewhat citrus, nondescript fruit medley going on. Nondescript didn't mean bad, it just meant that defied an exact description. Sometimes citrusy, other times more fruity, but it leaned towards the brighter side, but always had a nice, smooth fruity base. Hard to nail down, but needless to say, don't think I have a flavor exactly like this, and I have a lot of flavors. The hard candy portion did keep peeking out, and was smartly paired with the fruits. At 1% it was very good, with sweetness a tick above mid level, as expected for a candy, but not fatiguing. Thankfully, unlike the previous Dark Blackberry, this one was full steam ahead in deliciousness, and had nothing off putting. Sobucky advertised the flavor as ...
and that was pretty close, with some high end punchy, almost citrus notes tossed in. Nicely done, refreshing, and pretty good on it's own. Felt solid at **9/10**.
**Golden Apple (SSA) 1% (11-2-21)** -- Now other than Apple Pies, I don't really spend a lot of time Apple-ing, so let's see how this goes here, hehe. At 1% this really slammed home, a strong, accurate Golden Delicious Apple. Golden Delicious apples are fairly distinct in the apple world, and Sobucky did a GREAT job of capturing it. Eating a Honey Crisp apple while writing this, just to keep it apple-y. At this testing weight I was getting an almost boozy note, and it was subdued enough as to not take away from the main apple-ness of it. Slight fermentation wafted in and out during the test, but very low in the mix. Sweetness was about mid level, and the tartness levels were accurately on point as well. Nothing off-putting, and overall it tasted very natural. Your needs will vary with apple flavors, and this one holds a unique spot in between CAP's Double Apple, and FA's Fuji, and that would allow for different apple tempering with it. Fresh, crisp, some tart and sweet, and a great representation of a Golden Delicious. Squarely placed at a **9/10**.
**Grapefruit (SSA) 0.8% (11-3-21)** -- This one is another first for me. I think I have ONE Grapefruit, and I've used it in ONE recipe (more on that later), and I have NEVER solo'd one. Because of it's citrusy nature I decided to mix this one down at 0.8%, and after trying it, I think I could have gone up to 1.0-1.2%. At the testing weight, it WAS delicious !!!! Very natural tasting, nice citrus punch, BUT, tempered by some nice sweetness, which seemed to push it into more of a Red Ruby Grapefruit. Although tempering some of the tart citrus the sweetness was just below mid level, and helped to smooth out what sometimes can be a sharper flavor. You could almost taste the body, and skin (not the peel), and again, it presented as fairly natural tasting. Having no solo GF's to compare it directly to, I could test this at just face value, and I think it really worked. I mentioned above, I have only ONE Grapefruit recipe that I have ever tried, and it's a GREAT one at that, and will try to sub this GF in for it. With a great natural, smooth, tempered GF taste, that leaned heavily to natural, I found it hard to fault, and before I knew it, the tester was gone. That's NEVER a bad sign. Very nicely placing this at **9.4/10**.
**Juicy Orange (SSA) 1% (11-5-21)** -- Having not tested Sobucky's Orange Juice yet, I'd heard that this one was MUCH better, and NOT to be confused with it. This one was soo good, I might never even pick up the other one. Bright, punchy, orange-y, and fairly natural were my big take-aways on this one. Somewhat juicy, but it had a bit more of a candy/jello finish, but only slightly, so it didn't fall into a "candied" category. At 1% it was solidly in your face orange without being overbearing, fatiguing, or over flavored. Sweetness was about mid level, and did have an impressive citrus oil-ish nuance (without being bitter) that really pushed it from the good, to great level. As far as oranges go, this is one of the better ones, possibly top tier. For a very authentic orange, with some juicy-ness, nice citrus notes, and a smidge of tart, this should be on your shelf. Felt perfect at **9.3/10**.
**Lemon Cheesecake (SSA) 1% (11-6-21)** -- First things FIRST, if you are BA sensitive stay AWAY from this one. A very definite Butyric Acid note from this one, and being not BA sens. it didn't throw me off. Unlike other reviewers, I really didn't get a lot of Lemon from this one, and for my tastes it was overwhelmed by the creamy, and BA notes. The cheesecake was more of a creamy style like LA's Cheesecake, and although BA was in there, it didn't convincingly portray the sour/sharp notes. I did get some graham crust notes, but again, lower in the mix. The main note (beyond the BA) was a nice creamy body that COULD be cheesecake-ish, depending on your tastes. The flavor wasn't terrible, but it never really took off for me, or my tastes. It was plenty strong at 1%, mid leveled sweet, and was certainly very creamy with good mouthfeel. The sum of it's parts, just left me rather "Meh". Again, not terrible, but not great, and would surely work in mixes, but probably not as your main Cheesecake player. Going to meh it @ **6.4/10**.
**Milky Strawberry (SSA) 1% (11-6-21)** -- The FIRST thing I thought of when testing this one, was to get some to @fidalgo_vapes, as he has an obsession with RFSC's Strawberry Milkshake. Now this one wasn't "billed" as a milkshake, but it had some aspects OF one. The word of the day with this one is SMOOTH. A very smooth creamy strawberry, and it wasn't really a SB Milk or a SB Milkshake, but somewhere nearby. I struggled to decide exactly where the split was, meaning how much SB, and how much creamy milk, and it was actually hard to decide. Maybe 50/50, but it's smoothness helped to hide that. I'd seen mention that it was similar to a Lifesavers "Creme Savers" and that actually might be more right, than not. The SB was def. candied, and the more I think about it, Creme Savers, might just be as close as you can describe this one. The smooth creamy-ness was almost the center star here, but tempered with a nice candied SB. Was I getting any BA (Butyric Acid) ?? You could smell it, but you couldn't really TASTE it if that makes any sense, and nothing wrong with that. The SB had just enough brightness and sweet to carry through, but not PUNCH through the mix, and it kept it rather interesting. All in, an effective, very smooth milky/creamy strawberry, that didn't have a direct equal. Smoothly done from Sobucky, and it felt pretty good at **9/10**.
**Natural Lemon (SSA) 0.75% (11-6-21)** -- This WAS a GREAT Lemon. Now, what that out of the way, "Natural" ?? Mmmmmm, not exactly. I didn't want anyone to skip off, if I led with that. This Lemon from Sobucky DID favor Lemon Heads, BUT, I think it was cut WITH some natural lemon. I feel it's really a 65% Lemon Head / 35% Natural Lemon mix. Now, it's up to you if that's a winner or not. As it stood, it was quite good, just enough sweet, and tart, and lots of Lemon Heads, but swirling around in there were some natural and almost punchy notes. I don't know if "smooth" is a word used to describe Lemons often, but this one was almost smooth, with no bitterness. At times you could almost get a whiff of a citrus oil note, which just added to the whole Lemon experience. If you were looking for a pure natural like Medicine Flower, well, this ain't it. Is it damned good ?? Hell yes !!! Everyone has different needs, but if the aforementioned appeals to you, get Sobucky on the phone and get you some !!!! With only minor take offs to the somewhat lacking "natural"-ness, but only minor. **9.3/10**.
**Natural Raspberry (SSA) 0.75% (11-7-21)** -- OK, right out of the gate, this doesn't taste like a Natural Raspberry. Full Stop. Now that THAT is out of the way, it's actually an INTERESTING flavor, none the less. It never really screamed Raspberry, and if you want that, you need to go to
**Wild Raspberry (MF) 1% (8-28-18)** – Bing, bang, BOOM !!! Review over, I think you get the idea. I had QUITE a hard time, trying to find faults with this beauty. Vaped 3 tank fulls trying to find any faults, and couldn’t. Wow, I’m glad I got the Wild one as it was great. Just about every other raspberry I’ve tried, I’ve had issues with in some way or another, but not this one. Massively delicious, darker raspberry, full, rich, and just the right touch of bright on the finish. Could you taste the seeds even ?? Almost, just almost. Sweetness was perfectly balanced in this one, some hints of sour and brightness, but the smooth and darker deliciousness just washes over you when you vape it. What’s it like ?? Hmmmm, I did get some similarities to Inawera’s Raspberry, but without any of the heavy handed sharpness that it can present. Similar, but this one is far superior. I’m wondering if adding a smidge OF the INW might add a little punch to this one or not. Honestly, after 3 tank fulls, I’m not sure I would dare to try as it is just too damned good, solo. Not candied in any way, very full and impactful at this percentage, and too good to put down. The first thing that I thought, literally on the first test, on the first tank was, “I’ve got to throw this in some custard” !!! Very fresh and natural tasting, with just the right amount of darkness (wild perhaps), and very hard to put down. **10/10** without question.
Now, what WAS this one ?? More of a mid bright, non-descript berry (now wait for it), that had a particularly odd finish. Light graham ? Caramel ? Brown Sugar ? It's hard to tell, but it's there all day long. THAT is what kept this interesting, "What the hell IS that note" ?? I reduced this to 0.75% and it felt ok here, with below mid level sweet, and an overall smooth feel. Raspberries should have some tart, maybe a smidge of sour to authenticate them, but this one was actually smooth, so I think that hurt it overall. Not a terrible flavor, and probably NOT one you should buy if you were in need of a natural raspberry, BUT, if you're a curiosity seeker, pick it up, and see if YOU can figure out that finish note. As named, can't go too high on this one, so leaving it at a **5.5/10**.
**Purple Plum (SSA) 1% (11-7-21)** -- If you really knew how many different types of plums there were you'd probably go PlumCrazy !!!! Yes, there's a lot. I won't delve into which particular one this is, but suffice it to say, this Purple Plum tasted pretty good, and accurate (hint, Purple). Fairly accurate, and mostly natural tasting, it did give a good sense of "purple". Nicely present @ 1% and at about mid level sweet, Sobucky did a really good job of capturing this elusive fruit. I got mainly the fleshy body of the fruit, and no tart skin in it, and that would have really pushed this one into super delicious. Even missing the tart skin, this body only plum was convincing, accurate, and tasty. Nothing off-putting or out of place, no florals, etc. I couldn't help but wonder if a smidge of TPA Sour might just even make it better. As it stood, a solid, plum delicious contender from Sobucky. Minor take offs for the missing tart skin notes, and it felt deliciously plated @ **9.2/10**.
**Ripe Cherry (SSA) 0.6% (11-7-21)** -- With this, the third Cherry from Sobucky (I know I'm repeating), surely this one, would be the poison, soapy perfume, right ?? Ummm NOPE. THREE great cherries in a row from Sobucky, and many MFG's can't even get ONE right. The Compote Cherry was more of a jammed (compote) Cherry, the Juicy Cherries was a darker, almost Black Cherry for comparison. This one favored more of a Maraschino Cherry, but it had some DARKNESS in it, hehe, JUST to keep you on your toes. Above mid level sweet by a hair, a few tart notes, and a delicious mid body of a Mara, but with a slightly darker finish. Like most Cherries (please heed my low testing percentages on ALL three Sobucky Cherries), you could go TOO high, and blow your face off. Luckily I've already DONE THAT for you guys years ago, and learned my lessons. In the words of the famous Flavorah Goddess @SmokyBlue, "Start Low". I think I saw another review of this one, wherein the tester got some "plastic shower curtain", but it was tested FAR too high @ 2.0%. At 0.6% this one was perfect, non-fatiguing, and had NO off notes, florals, or soapy-ness. Because this one smelled SOO good in the bottle (as did Sobucky's Cola), I mixed it up into a delicious Cherry Cola, so feel free to try it in action. All in, a third delicious cherry from Sobucky, that centered around the maraschino, with a darker finish, which worked to round it out, and give it some weight. Hands down, damn near perfect, and leaving it at **9.8/10**.

While holding the mod i was reminded of the high end cars i like to read for reviews when i am browsing the internet.
For example take a Rolls-Royce and a Ford Fiesta, both cars with 4 wheels that will take you safely to your destination but there is where all that they have in common ends.
Same can be said about this mod and others, sure another cheaper mod will allow you to vape but the attention to detail, build quality and the sensation of a well made product won't be there.
This is all that i am thinking about when holding the Brunhilde SBS 100w Mod,this mod feels heavy and well made.
I spent like 10 minutes just looking at it and rotating and turning it so i could appreciate all the details of this beautiful mod.
From the Laser Engraving to the small details will make you appreciate the work done to design and produce this mod.
VAPING TIME:
Unfortunately since i reviewed the Vapefly Kriemhild II 2 Sub Ohm Tank (the one that matches this mod) before i had ran out of coils so i had to look and see what tank i could fit on it.
I am clumsy so all the straight glass i have for my atomizers broke and the atomizers i have with a bubble tank won't fit in the mod.
FYI: You can fit an atomizer up to 26.5 mm in this mod,25 would be the best choice so you don't get any over hang.
Well i was stuck between a rock and a hard place, with a mod but no atomizer to try it with.
Remembered i had a Brunhilde MTL RTA that a friend gave me as gift.
So i took it out of the box,put a coil and wicked and put it on the mod.
Time to fire it up!!
Like many SBS devices the screen is located on the base of the device that allows for a compact design and a slicker device.
This is my first SBS mod so the first day of using it just felt odd...i had to hold the mod differently than others.
And depending on what atomizer you use with this mod you might have to pay attention so you don't over the airflow with your hand.
I used the mod all day and it performed admirably but yet i felt like the awkwardness was a cloud lingering over me all day long.
The next day i decided to use the mod all day to see if i would get use to the way you need to operate this mod...but yeah it was a no go for me.
If i held the mod one way the battery cap would brush against my chin,if i rotated the mod then it would be close/barely touched my ''moustach'' area.
This could be more of a personal issue, maybe with another atomizer i wouldn't feel this way but nonetheless i didn't really enjoy using this mod.
PROS
-Build Quality is superb.
-Laser engraving is a nice tough to detail.
-You can use a 21700 battery in this mod, perfect if you want to vape at high wattages.
-Aesthetically speaking this is one beautiful mod.
-Display is old school,no razzle dazzle...sometimes less is more. CONS
-Can't really think of any that don't apply to anyone else,my cons is just that i don't seem to be one to enjoy SBS mods.
Tilting the mod to look at the screen, pressing the buttons to adjust the wattage just felt unnatural to me.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS MOD:
If you're a SBS type mod user then yes this is one mod you have to own.
From the quality of the build to it's hefty weight to the overrall attention to detail this is one mod that deserves a spot in your permanent collection.
Thanks again to my friends at Sourcemore for giving me the chance to review this mod.

Guys, please write to Sen. Joe Manchin and express your feelings on this proposed nicotine tax (he seems to be the voice that we all need). You do not need to live in West Virginia to contact him. Please click the following link: Email Joe and click on "share your opinion on legislation" and tell him your story and how this crazy tax proposal would hurt you and the rest of the vaping community. My letter to him is below:
Dear Sen. Manchin,
While I don't live in your state (West Virginia), I do reside next door to you in Virginia. I am contacting you today to express my views about this proposed nicotine tax that certain democrats want to push through the Build Back Better package of President Biden's. I am also a democrat and am outraged at the insane tax they want passed on nicotine products (vapor, etc.). Lastly, I know you're an opponent of this insane tax proposal and that you are urging democrats in the house to say "NO" to the increase in nicotine tax (before it even makes it over to the Senate floor).
First off I'm a vapor! I had my last cigarette on January 3, 2011 and have not touched a cigarette since. My health improved almost overnight after I made the switch from smoking to vaping (I smoked for 20 years and currently I am 49 years old). Vaping keeps me comfortable and keeps me off cigarettes; no other smoking 'cessation' product has ever worked for me before vaping came along.
As you know, the vaping industry has taken a huge smack in the face this year. First, congress snuck in language in the omnibus budget bill from December of 2020, that bans USPS from shipping vaping products, FedEx and UPS followed suit thereafter. Next we have the PMTA's (Pre-Market Tobacco Application) that had to be filed by manufactures who want to continue to sell their products to the FDA by I believe September 9, 2020 (FDA was to make decisions on all applications by September 9, 2021), which they are still working on today. Now, certain democrats want to impose an astronomical tax on all nicotine (vapor) products (but they want to leave cigarettes out of the equation). Last time I checked, cigarettes also have nicotine in them. This is yet another attempt to go after the vaping industry and destroy a multi-billion dollar industry, that has helped MANY millions of people not only switch to vaping but to continue vaping if they feel the need to (like myself). Like I said, it keeps me comfortable and I have absolutely no feelings or desire to ever return to cigarettes because of this great electronic technology.
I am contacting you to ask you to do anything that you can do; to get this proposed nicotine tax off the table. If this portion of the Build Back Better plan is passed, it will decimate the vaping industry, kill most (if not all businesses) and send A LOT of people back to smoking. These taxes would double, if not triple the current prices of vaping products. For example, a bottle of 100ml e-liquid could end up costing upwards of $100, when the product is only a $20 or $25 dollar product. We vapors can't afford such a ridiculous tax and I feel its outright criminal what certain democrats have proposed to do. I have no problem whatsoever paying a federal tax on nicotine products as long as it's reasonable. What is being proposed here is NOT reasonable, again it's downright criminal!
President Biden promised not to raise taxes on those making less than $400,000 a year (that is most of the country). As a neighboring West Virginia resident, I am pleading with you to make sure this proposed tax rule does not get passed. It was already sent to President Biden once I believe, the White House rejected the nicotine tax proposal and sent it back to congress, now certain members of congress have added it back in. PLEASE, don't let this proposal happen, it will hurt SO MANY people Senator Manchin. I know you're the voice against this insane nicotine tax and I pray that you can be the advocate that the vaping industry needs and stop this from happening.
Hello again dedicated readers. I’m back with another review for Hellvape. This time I’ll be taking a look at the Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RDA. I have to admit that I’m not a regular user of rdas but will do my best to cover this one as well as I can. I have tried a handful of rdas over the years and have even come across a couple I’ve liked but have always reverted back to rtas for the long haul. From what I can tell, the DR3 is a pretty good one that has two types of airflow, seals well, holds quite a bit of liquid, and has a little different type of liquid inlet when the squonk pin is installed. I did recently pick up a Topside 90 squonk mod that I chose to test the DR3 on for this review since I think most will be interested in using it on a squonk device but I could be wrong.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
SPECIFICATIONS:
FEATURES:
1. Ample space for coil cutting
2. Smoother airflow by the round posts without turbulence
3. Two types of airflow
4. 5mm deep and ample juice well with no leaking
5. Side feeding design for quick e-juice transferring to cotton by BF pin
6. Optimized and upgraded deck
INITITAL THOUGHTS:
I’ve only reviewed a few items for Hellvape but have already become accustomed to the bright red color of the boxes that their devices arrive in. The DR3 is no exception. It comes in a red two part box with a viewing window on the front so you can see the color of the tank inside.
The back of the box has the features, specifications, and contents listed on the back of the box. I actually received two of the DR3 rdas for this review. One is rainbow and the other is matte black. I am not normally a fan of rainbow tanks but this one seems a little different from others I’ve received in the past and I actually kind of like it and think it looks pretty decent on the gray Topside 90. Besides the contents listed on the box, there is also a card inside that explains how you can have a chance to win a collector’s edition DR3 by posting pictures on social media of your rda.
I really like how the Dead Rabbit 3 RDA comes with different colored drip tips with each color of tank. The drip tips are 810 and don’t have any o rings on them as the o ring is built inside the top cap. Also it has the metal beauty ring on the bottom of the drip tip with the Hellvape name etched in that ring. That etching and the Dead Rabbit picture on the front are the only branding on the rda.
The DR3 is easily broken down for cleaning. There is an o ring on the top cap that you rotate to adjust the airflow. It is tight enough to offer just enough resistance so it doesn’t get turned on accident. There are double o rings on the base to prevent leaking but are not so tight that it is extra difficult to remove the deck from the outer chamber. I was able to pick up my Topside 90 by the rda several times and the chamber never came loose from the base.
I like that there are notches on the cap to make it easier to turn to adjust the airflow. The top cap has two types of airflow available that aligns with the slots in outer chamber. There are three rows of five honeycomb style holes on both sides as well as three rows of slotted holes on each side. I tried both types of airflow and both performed well and gave very good flavor but felt like the airflow was a little smoother using the honeycomb airflow. I used the two included coils and cotton in the rainbow rda and installed the squonk pin so I could use it on the Topside 90. I preferred it set at 55 watts with three rows of honeycomb holes open. The airflow was very smooth and did not whistle at all. The included coils read .17 ohms installed in the rda. For the black one I decided to use some other coils that I had from some Geekvape packs I had bought a long time ago. Two of those coils installed were reading .41 ohms in the black tank and I was able to run comfortably at 45 watts with the same three rows of holes open.
I really like how easy the deck is to build on this rda. There are slots in the coil base that align with notches in the outer chamber to help align the airflow with the coils. Also the posts are rounded instead of square which I believe helps with the airflow by the air passing more easily past the posts to provide less turbulence. The posts are raised at an angle to allow you to insert the coils, tighten them down, and then trim the legs afterward. This is a really nice feature in my opinion but it’s a bit of a tight fit getting the cutters in there. A little more room would be much appreciated. One thing you want to remember is that after you cut the coil legs make sure to turn the rda over and make sure you get out all four clippings. Otherwise the cut off pieces could short out the deck posts and that would be very bad.
Once the coils were inserted, I straightened them as much as possible and heated them up to work out any hot spots so that they fired evenly. The cotton wicks included are long enough to wick both coils with one thread. However, it’s much easier if you pull the thread all the way through on the first one and then trim it so that you still have the plastic on the end to thread through the second coil. I cut the wicks a little extra long so that they could reach the bottom of the deck and combed them out some.
One other thing that I like about the DR3 is that it has two liquid fill holes with one on each side that deposit directly to the place where you tuck the cotton tails. I’ve found that this does a really nice job of saturating the wicks on both sides and seems like the liquid uptake to the coil is a little faster when using the included squonk pin. The base is fairly deep and will hold quite a bit of liquid. I found that I didn’t need to squonk near as often as I thought I would running at 55 watts. I’m sure the included coils will easily operate at much higher wattage but I personally don’t like a very warm vapor.
On the bottom of the base it has a serial number and the Dead Rabbit 3 RDA printed as well as a gold plated 510 center pin. This is where the included allen wrench is used to remove the center pin if you choose to install the squonk pin.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
As I mentioned in the beginning, I’m don’t commonly use rdas but every once in a while I will get one for review that I really like. This is one of those.
I like how when using the squonk pin that the liquid feed holes are on the sides to directly feed the wick tales. I have never tried either of the previous versions so don’t know if this is a new design or not.
The two choices of airflow having both honeycomb and slotted is a great design in my opinion to appeal to different users and vaping styles. I have previously and also in the case of the DR3 prefer the honeycomb airflow as it seems a bit smoother. This is also helped out some by the rounded design of the posts to decrease airflow turbulence.
The deck design is a great fit for me. I very much like being able to install the coils and then trim them afterwards. I’m sure this would appeal to newer users also.
Overall, I think that the Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RDA is a well designed and built rda. I have been enjoying testing it due to the very good flavor production and the ease of use. So, would I recommend this one to you? If you like dual coil high output and large flavorful vapor production then yes I absolutely would recommend it. I like it well enough that I, the non rda user, plan on keeping it in rotation for some time to come.
I’d like the thank Hellvape and Mindy for sending the Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RDA for this review. It has been a pleasure to test as have previous tanks that they have sent for review. Also a big thank you to the readers that make this possible. Below is a link to the Hellvape website for your viewing pleasure.
I recently purchased a Aegis Solo and was curious as what would be a good compatible RTA to get for it. I am an MTL vaper and have some RBA experience. Can someone who has some experience with the Aegis Solo give me some suggestions? TY
Hello new member here. I have been online for hours trying to find a fix for my vape and also a cool and good group to join I hope this one is it. There are way to many crap groups and posts online. So my issue is I have a aspire dynamo works find but the fire button came off it looks like it just slides back in between these groves on both sides but I can't get it to go. Is this right on how to fix it? Thanks for any help and glad to here
I poured up a liter of nic today into six 4oz bottles. I ran out of 4 oz bottles and put the remaining in this 8oz bottle. If all goes as planned, I'll use other previously decanted nic first and this from today won't be opened for a decade or more. As you can see from the photo, this 8oz bottle is only about 60% filled. Would I be better off by putting 2oz of this into a partially filled & frozen 4 oz bottle that I'll be using within a year, or just leave as is in this 8oz bottle and hope for the best when time comes?
In other words, is there too much air in this bottle for long term storage? I have all in a dedicated nic freezer.
Maybe I should just freeze as is and get two more 4 oz bottles but one of those will wind up with a lot of air space also.

I wrote to Eightvape, asking a simple question about products that they carry and if they'll work with each other or not. I received the following form letter instead of a real answer:
"Hello -----,
Thank you for reaching out to us! We generally avoid assisting customers with part compatibility questions, due to the multitude of products out there, and our desire to avoid misinforming a customer that something will work, (or not work,) only to discover we were incorrect. We would not want a customer to purchase incorrect products on bad advice, only to find that it may not be exchangeable after purchase.
Thank you for vaping with us, we look forward to fulfilling your future vape needs!
Thanks again from Eightvape support team.
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 9am-5:00pm Pacific Time
Thank you for your time and support!"
A major part of being a specialty retailer is being informative and educating the customer base. I'm saying this from 15 years experience being a specialty retailer and another 20 years as a manufacturer supporting and educating my hundred plus US retailers and distributors in 35 foreign countries.
Everybody offers low prices. If that's all you can do you really shouldn't be in business. Come to think of it, I feel I should help Eightvape towards the goal of not being in business by buying nothing further from them.
Hi ECF members, In this review I take a look at the Kriemhild 80W Kit from Vapefly. The Kriemhild 80W Kit was supplied for the purpose of this review by Jade from Vapefly!
Vapefly have become one of the most respected vape manufacturers and in my opinion deservedly so. In this review I take a look at their latest Mod & subohm Tank Kit. The Kriemhild 80W Kit comprises of the slick looking Kriemhild mod paired with the new Gunther Subohm Tank!
The Kriemhild 80W Mod although it might not show in the reasonable price tag boasts high-end build quality and just oozes class! It's a very simple device with it's screen positioned up top and just wattage and Bypass modes to choose from but for many that's all they require! The Kriemhild also introduces a Security alarm system and can accommodate either a 21700, 20700 or 18650.
The Gunther boasts either a 3.5ml or 5ml capacity (with pre-installed bubble glass) and has a top to bottom leakproof airflow design! It accommodates the same K-series coils as the Kriemhild II and is also compatible with the cost saving RMC rebuildable coil kits! That's enough waffle let's crack on and take a closer look at this Gem of a kit!!!!!
The Kriemhild Kit came in cardboard box packaging with outer sleeve which has a line drawing of the kit on the front and Features etc on the reverse. I received The Black version which comes with matching Black Gunther Sub-ohm Tank the options are, Silver, Gunmetal, Black or Black & Gold!
This mod just looks fantastic and the build quality is the best I have come across, although I must admit I don't own mods that cost £500 plus I do have a good few £200 to £300 priced devices and none of them beats this for build quality! The top display helps with the slick design and we have an inner Silver chassis with outer Black metal casing which sweeps around the spine and both sides. This outer casing has an exquisite brushed finish and both sides an elongated Silver plaque with etched fancy font and Celtic knots!
The face like the spine is curved and the protruding buttons also curve to the contour of the device! Up top we have a vertically positioned rectangular fire button with horizontal grooves this is followed by a small round hole which leads to the speaker behind! Towards the bottom we have the square navigational buttons lined up vertically with upwards chevron grooves on the up button and downwards chevron grooves on the down button, these are followed by the type C USB port!
Moving to the base we have etched safety marks and a solid battery plate with fold out lever, moving to the top of the device we have the sealed display towards the front and to the rear a Stainless Steel 510 plate, the 510 is Gold plated and spring loaded!
I don't know what metal materials are used in it's construction or whether the chassis and outer casing are the same material but this is so solid feeling which will lead to a con for some which is for a single battery device this is very heavy. When shaking we get no button rattle whatsoever but when tapping the buttons with a finger they then do give a rattle but a very petty thing which won't bother many!
Although heavy with it's very curved spine and large protruding fire button towards the top of the curved face this is very ergonomic and a pleasure to use!
The Gunther reminds me very much of the Kriemhild II Subohm Tank but with a top to bottom airflow design added. Up top we have an 810 drip tip with the option of fitting the included 510 adaptor, the top-cap has a bayonet fitting which once removed reveals the fill plate with self sealing membrane and a silicone seal to the underside section of the top-cap for a really good seal.
The base section unscrews counter clockwise revealing the Gunther accommodates the same K-series plug and play coil heads that fit the Kriemhild II. The chimney which extends from the chamber screws to the bottom of the fill plate and also extends at it's base to create a shelf for the glass to sit on. To remove the glass just unscrew the chamber/chimney section from the fill plate which also reveals the glass gets sealed both top and bottom with O-rings, before reassembling if you wish you have the option of fitting the included 3.5ml straight glass, the 5ml bubble glass is pre-installed!
On the top section of the tank which includes the fill plate we have the dual airflow slots, the AFC has split airflow to add smoothness in the way of both being split lengthwise and having two narrow slots top and bottom rather than one large slot giving four small slots in total either side!
The chamber is doubled walled on opposite sides to allow the air once entering the slots to travel down to the base of the tank, it then enters the centre of the coil head from the base like any bottom airflow design!
As mentioned the Gunther accommodates the same K-series FreeCore mesh coil heads which fitted the Kriemhild II which just get press fitted into place then secured by fastening the base section into place.
Maybe to be harsh a con is the two provided coil heads are the only two available and I would much prefer more options, We do now have RMC rebuildable coils available though but they come in the same 0.3ohm and Duplex 0.2ohm options!
Part of the marketing for the Gunther as well as the leakproof top to bottom airflow design revolves around the patented Duplex 0.20hm mesh coil head which is pre-installed. Rather than having a mesh strip with a negative one end and positive the other it has two strips of mesh each half the length which share a central positive pin with each having an independent negative, essentially this means the mesh heats up twice as quickly and much more evenly improving vape quality and the improved ramp up is very noticeable!
Money Saving Kriemhild II RMC coil accessories Kits compatible with the Gunther!
The Gunther has a top-cap with bayonet fitting (my favourite) so just a quarter turn and it's off! The fill plate has 2 large kidney fill ports with membrane seal, if you don't like the seal I don't see any reason why the tanks vacuum would be compromised if removed due to the seal to the inner side of the top-cap. I never tried to remove the membrane seal personally but as a spare is included then it obviously can be! Pre-installed is the 5ml Bubble Glass which can be swapped for the 3.5ml straight glass!
The Kriemhild 80W Mod accommodates either a single 21700, 20700 or with the supplied adaptor an 18650 battery, the adaptor comes already installed inside the battery compartment with a round foam piece fitted to stop any movement during transit! The battery is fitted via the bottom of the device by unscrewing the battery plate.
This style of installing your battery is old school but much loved and still used on many high end devices, you can't damage your wraps and it guarantees you will get no battery movement. I particularly like this style when a fold out lever is included making it much quicker and less fiddly to secure in place, on this battery plate as well as a fold out lever we also have venting slots which is good to see, the threading is nice and smooth so as far as I am concerned full marks!
The Display is old school and very small as well as being positioned on the top of the device for a more sleek aesthetic look. The device is so simple lot's of displayed information isn't needed so no issues with the small display and what is displayed can be easily read as it's both bright and sharp!
Top left we have the battery status bar and then the rest of the top of the screen either displays your wattage when in variable wattage mode or say's "BYPASS" when in Bypass mode. Bottom left we have the resistance and then bottom right the voltage!
The Kriemhild 80W device is for those that like simplicity and any features to be useful rather than stuff that will never be used cluttering up the operation and user interface, it is therefore not for TC users as the only modes are Wattage and Bypass!
The Kriemhild is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and 5 clicks to turn off, once on pressing both navigational buttons together locks those buttons but the device will still fire, repeating the operation unlocks the device. While the navigational buttons are locked 3 quick presses of the fire button also locks that button so the device will not fire!
With the device completely unlocked 3 quick presses of the fire button switches mode between Wattage and Bypass, the wattage adjusts from 5w to 80w in 0.5w increments with single presses and 1w increments with a navigational button held down, it round robins. Other features are up and fire together flips the display and repeating the operation flips it back again and finally down and fire together is stealth mode, once again repeating the sequence takes the device back to normal operation!
To be honest because I only charged for a short time to see what's what and didn't have any issues with the device running too hot or any Atomiser Shorts I forgot about this feature until just before writing the review as the alarm didn't sound on a single occasion which I suppose is actually a good thing, so just to check I held the fire button down for 10 seconds to be greeted by a combination of buzzes and beeps! I quite like this feature though as it will draw attention to serious issues while not going off just for the sake of it and becoming annoying!
You know the drill, I don't recommend charging in the device unless it's your only option but if you do the Kriemhild 80W Mod has a Type C USB connection and 2A charge rate.
Despite having a small display, while charging both a charging progress icon is displayed and the charge given as a percentage, it also supports pass-through vaping! Once fully charged the security alarm system kicks in giving one buzz followed by 3 beeps!
I must point out sub-ohm tanks with stock coils is not really my thing and only tend to test them if something stands out which was the case here with the patented Duplex coil head which I have used before with the Kriemhild II! Sub-ohm tanks tend to be quite loud and can be turbulent, the Gunther certainly isn't quiet as the coil head sizzling can be clearly heard but it's by no means especially loud and definitely not turbulent giving a smooth vape however the airflow is set!
I can see possibly those into their sub-ohm tanks getting the wow factor trying the new Duplex coil head because the flavour is up there with the Freemax coils and the quicker ramp up is definitely evident. I also found the 0.3ohm coil head gave very decent flavour but overall just wish there was more coil options. Also with there now being a RMC kit for K-series coil heads allowing you to build the included coils at a much cheaper price has to be a win!
Both coils will comfortably go 10w above their recommendation if you like a hot vape but liking restriction I preferred both 5w under using with the airflow closed down to just a quarter open. The design is pleasing to the eye although a bit funky with the bubble glass fitted and it comes with a decent amount of extras including spare glass and 510 adaptor!
The star though is the classy Kriemhild 80W Mod which just oozes quality. It's sleek look will appeal to many with the stealth positioning of the screen it just looks great and has a very ergonomic form factor to boot! The only issues being it is very heavy and then to get petty the buttons give a rattle when tapping with a finger but other than that it's just a fantastic power only simple device!
I like the battery plate with fold out lever which has silky smooth threading as does the 510 connection! When in stealth mode the screen has the appearance of a mirrored panel adding to it's sleek design! Obviously for TC users or those that like many features this really isn't for them but in every sense is Old school almost going back pre TC days but with an updated modern design. We do have something new though in the form of the Security Alarm System which could have been done in a way where the alarm was going off for any little thing instead I found it unobtrusive but efficient so a big win!
Being able to fit a 21700 is another plus and this fires out the gate no issues at all with the fire button giving a satisfying click! Having a Type C connection with 2A charge rate is another pro as is the charging feedback and that it supports pass-through vaping! Up top even a 26mm atomiser looks good even though it will part go over the screen but not the information displayed or device itself, 24mm and 22mm look great! so that covers pretty much any atomiser someone would use on a single battery device!
It's strange how people can like completely different styles of mod! This absolutely no bells and whistles device is the second best device I have used this year with the best being the Coolfire Z80 which is feature packed! The biggest pro though has to be the price for a device with such a high standard build quality!

I have 3 full boxes of coils, some are P0.4 and some P0.2 total of 21 coils. also have a Geekvape Aegis mod I’m not sure which one it is, but it is the one that uses these coils, and I am including a 510 adapter for the mod so you can run it with and 510 threaded tank. I’m preferring to sell this all in one shot for 60 bucks, shipped to United States (I don’t like the customs forms)
