Spheroid!

Hello everyone! Long time lurker here, just wondered if any of you fine people would happen to have a V3 or 4 authentic spheroid for sale and or trade! These things seem to be rarer than my steaks!

I have a small collection of authentic stuff that I'd like to sell or trade as well in the future as well, so if you can help with spheroid or you're interested in blue tongue mods, vape smarter, noname, Evl, or psyclone mods let me know!

GEEK VAPE Z50 KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello again and welcome back for today's review of the Z50 Kit from Geek Vape, this kit was sent to me from Geek Vape for the purpose of this review. The Z50 device has a built in 2000 mAH battery and has a maximum wattage capacity of 50w, along with wattage the Z50 has 4 other power modes that are TC-SS, TC-TCR, VPC, and BYPASS. Paired with the Z50 is the Z Nano with the new Z logo. This little power house uses the same chip that's used in the new Legend 2 with one small difference. I'll start with some information on the Z50 Kit first.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The Z 50 Kit came packaged like most products from Geek Vape do with a box that slides out of a outer sleeve having the Z 50 Mod in a cut out with the Z Nano tank and accessories as well as your user manual, warning card and other Geek Vape paperwork below.

20210610_133437.jpg

The Z Nano tank is the same Nano tank of past that I already reviewed but the new 2021 version has the new Z logo that still is top airflow making it very leak resistant. Opening the top cap is done with a quarter turn reveling the 2 fill ports across from each other. I wish the fill ports were a bit wider because using a gorilla bottle you can't get the bottle tip into the ports so slow filling is needed or you will create bubbles and juice will begin to back up so always fill slowly.

20210610_143315.jpg

The tank still uses the proven B series of coils that provide great flavor with vapor being full as well. B coils just push into place and are removed by just pulling them out, sometimes they can be difficult to get free so Geek Vape provides a coil removal assist tool. On each side of the coil are 2 large juice supply slots. The tank comes with the 0.3Ω mesh coil pre-installed that is rated for 30- 38w, also included is the 0.6Ω mesh coil that is rated for 15 - 25w.

20210610_144949.jpg

I really like the new logo of the Z series and think the old Zeus face became rather dated so it was time for a change. the Z50 mod has a spring loaded 510 pin and it's top plate can accept a 24mm tank with a miniscule of overhang.

20210610_140530.jpg

The new logo is also on the spine of the Z 50 along with Geek Vape Z written across and a series of vertical lines that bring it all together giving it a attractive appearance in my opinion.

20210610_140111.jpg

Geek Vape has chosen to go with 4 color decors that should please most people. I was sent the gunmetal with a stabilized wood pattern that is inlayed on both sides of the Z50 mod and I like how it turned out.

20210610_150217.jpg

20210610_150015.jpg

The Z 50 uses the same chip that is in the newly released Aegis Legend 2 that I reviewed a few weeks back, the performance is really good and the features of the new chip include instant fire, new color display with 5 options of color . The only difference between the 2 is that the Aegis Legend uses a manual lock to lock adjustments and firing of the mod.

The Z 50 has a electronic wattage only lock while still being able to vape. The color display has a good layout just like the Legend 2 does. From top to bottom the layout reads like this.

* Battery Bar

* Power Mode

*Wattage/Temperature

* Ohms

* Amps

* Volts

* Seconds Puffed/Puff Counter

20210612_130728.jpg

MENU

*Five clicks of the fire button turn the device on/off

*Three clicks of the fire button to enter settings mode

*One click of the fire button in settings mode moves the cursor to select parameters

*Up and down held simultaneously locks wattage adjustments

*Long press the fire button to exit settings mode

*Up and down to change wattage or temperature

*Fire and down at the same time to decrease brightness

*Fire and up at the same time to increase brightness

*Three clicks of the fire button then hold both up and down to change color

FINAL IMPRESSIONS

The first thing that I want to talk about is just how nice the device looks and the Nano tank matches perfectly in color as well as size proportion with the Z 50. I can't speak for all the colors but the gunmetal color that I received looks very attractive.

The tank performs very well using both coils but my favorite is the 0.3 giving me a little bit of warmth running it at 40 watts. Being a user of B coils very often because they perform great with flavor that always hits the mark and more vapor than I need. Just make sure you fill the Nano slowly as I said earlier. Having narrow fill ports is the tanks only con.

As far as the mod goes I really have no cons for it but lots of likes such as the the chip it uses. The buttons are responsive, display is vivid and bright and having 5 choices of colors for the display is a bonus.

As a full kit I think it's a winner and will continue to use it until it's battery becomes depleted in a few years or longer, I stil have built in battery devices that are 5 yrs old and stil work fine so who knows how long.

I would like to thank Allison and Geek Vape for providing the Z 50 Kit for review.

The case for Pods ?

Began vaping several years ago & have seen the hardware evolve continually.
For the last several years , Ive not paid that much attention save for an occasional tryout of a new RTA now & then.

Current system in use is a Dvarw or Pioneer RTA & either a Jac series-B or one of 4 Vaporesso Target mini 2's.
I find these easy to manage, always a great vape & with very adequate battery life.
They do require that one builds & wicks each RTA device, the material costs for that are truly inconsequential, but time isn't.

So I'm curious to learn if a pod system holds an advantage over a conventional RTA type arrangement & in what regard.
What are the characteristics of a pod system that make them attractive ?
I assume its the 'no building' & perhaps small size aspects, but are there other plusses I'm unaware of ?
What are the comparative downsides ? Ex ; battery life, swapping juices, coil expense.
How long does a coil/wick set up last in a pod & still supply good flavor ?

Sincerest thanks for any wisdom on the matter.

Army vet and vapes

I started smoking ciggerettes when I was 13 years old. At first I only smoked a ciggerett on the weekends but around the time I joined the Army around 19 years old I started smoking daily. Then I became a pack a day smoker when I was stationed in South Korea. Before I got out of the military (4 year enlistment term) I was approaching 2 packs a day.

As time went on the amount of ciggerettes per day varied but I was still considered a heavy smoker. Around 2009 I started to feel myself getting weaker and less productive at work. My breathing was begining to get heavier and I could tell that I wasn't getting enough oxygen.

Let's be clear I didn't want to quit ciggerettes. I enjoyed smoking. It was something I enjoyed and helped me cope with life especially after leaving the military. But I knew something had to change or I'll end up with a straw down my neck to help me breath.

So in 2009, while I was working at the Post Office, I saw a buddy vaping on a Vapor4Life cigalike device. I was confused and fascinated at the same time. I asked him "what the hell are you smoking?" He then walked me through it. At the time is was a pretty cool kit with an external battery pack to charge the ecig while on the go and those neat cartomizers that could be refilled.

He had an extra ecig battery and a new pepomint cartomizer and let me try it out for the day. The very next day (pay day) I ordered 2 kits, spare cartos and 2 bottles of pepomint.

The day I received the kit I haven't touched a cigerrette since.

Fast forward to current day I am strictly a mtl rta user. I love love my Kayfun Prime and the kayfun lite 2020. I use a 2mm ID round coil at 1.25 ohms at 10 watts on a geek vape mod with an external 18650 battery. I support my local vape shop and buy their house eliquids. 70 vg/30 pg blends with 6mg freebase nicotine....mostly tobacco flavors :) I love my tobacco blends.

My breathing is great. I workout daily and my work production couldn't be better. 12 years later I haven't even thought about a ciggerette so I consider that a success.

Thank you for reading my success story with vaping.

Bench Test Results: Imren Pink 30QP - 15A 3000mAh 18650…Samsung 30Q performs a lot better

These tests below only note my personal ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. They are not supposed to be used outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
This cell is not a good performer but its 15A rating seems reasonable. The Samsung 30Q runs for about 40% longer at 15A.

This Imren 30QP is essentially identical in appearance to the Efest 30EF but the Efest performs a lot better (but still not as well as the Samsung 30Q). I do not know if they are different grades of the same cell or not.

The two cells I tested delivered 3049mAh and 3066mAh. This is very good consistency and exceeds this cell’s 3000mAh rating.

Two cells were purchased for testing by me from Liion Wholesale (Liion Wholesale Batteries | Li-ion battery/cell distributor).

SUORIN ACE MICRO POD KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello and welcome to today's review of the Suorin Ace Micro Pod Kit that was provided to me from Suorin for the purpose of this review. The Ace is as simple as it gets as far as pod systems go being a wattage only device with a 15 watt fixed output working off a 1000 mAH internal battery. While the Ace has a fixed airflow it gives the user 2 choices of firing the device because it provides auto draw or manual button fire. Tiny is the best way to describe the Ace as you will see, so let's meet the Ace Micro Pod Kit from Suorin.

BREAKDOWN

Suorin_ACE_Exploded_view.jpg

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The first thing I noticed after opening was just how tiny of a device the Ace was, after picking up the ace and holding it in my hand the Ace disappeared leaving only the mouthpiece visible. Being made of Zinc Alloy and plastic gives the Ace a strong solid feel with no cheap feeling to it. One thing that caught my eye was how small the charge cord was, unless you have a USB Hub charging station this charge cord is almost unusable being only 6 inches long. Only 1 pod is supplied in the kit along with the user manual.

20210607_133706 (1).jpg

The Ace uses replaceable cartridges not coils that attach using magnets as most pod systems do, the magnets are strong so your pod will not fall out, the pod cartridge sits inside the device 3/4 of a inch so for juice viewing the pod must be removed. The capacity of 2ml also includes the semi- tinted mouthpiece, with the main portion of the pod being recessed in the device leaving only the mouthpiece visible makes the Ace very compact.

Looking inside the pod port connection 2 magnets are used, between them are 2 coil contacts with the auto draw's air supply tube between them. Suorin puts a accidental fire sticker on the bottom of the coil that needs to be removed before your first vape, I like that the Ace also is shipped with a protective wrap around it as well.

20210608_134441.jpg

When the sticker is removed the outer magnets and coil contacts can be seen, the airflow supply is cut out in the clear plastic pod between the 2 gold center contacts.

20210608_143447.jpg

Juice fill is done on the side of the pod by lifting the transparent fill plug, the fill port hole is very big and I had no trouble using a Gorilla 100ml bottle tip for mess free filling of the pod.

20210608_143754.jpg

As you can see this is one tiny device that is also very thin as well and if stood up would be easily knocked over, that is why in my opinion Suorin chose to round all the corners of the device even the bottom giving the Ace such a comfortable to hold hand feel.

20210607_135331.jpg

At the top next to the pod is the type-c charge port's location with a cover that blends in very well and also has a small grove cut out for your fingernail to fit inside aiding you in it's opening, it fits into place so well that some people without fingernails might have difficulty.

20210608_142305.jpg

I can see why Suorin decided to include a lanyard connection on the Ace because of it's size but I think one should have been included in the kit

Below the lanyard connection is the fire button if you choose to use it, because the auto draw works so well I don't and I'm a button user normally. At the top of the fire button is a very tiny LED light that illuminates when vaping with either auto draw or manual button activation as well when charging the Ace.

3 colors are used for battery strength when charging as well as showing your battery strength when vaping.

* RED - 30%

* BLUE 30% - 70%

* GREEN - 70% - 100%

20210608_141640.jpg

Branding was kept to a minimum on the Ace with only the front and back of the device having any writing leaving the chrome sides free for a attractive appearance. I was sent the Urban Camo color and really like it although in bright lights you can see it's a fingerprint magnet but in normal indoor lighting it looks great.

20210608_141726.jpg

20210608_141841.jpg

20210608_150343.jpg

FINAL IMPRESSIONS

I've been using the Ace for a couple of weeks and have been pleased with it's performance. The auto draw works really well and is very smooth also, I consider the Ace to be a MTL device with enough throat hit to keep me happy. Flavor from the pod cartridges is not RTA quality but it's good, I used my MTL juice that I vape in a RTA and definitely knew it's flavor when vaped in the Ace just not as many flavor notes came through but it's a pod device and I knew they wouldn't I just wanted to see how close it could be.

The battery life of 1000 mAH in such a small package is a nice bonus and being made of Zinc-Alloy gives it a solidly built feel.

Appearance of the Ace to me is appealing and I'm very happy the Urban Camo was what was sent to me because I really love it's look.

The Ace would really be great for any Nic Salt users as well as new vapers.

In closing you may ask if I recommend the Ace, I know I will get more pods and continue using it, I will also pick up a lanyard for around the neck because it's weight will be doable using it this way, one should have been included in the kit .

I would like to thank Mira and Suorin for providing the Ace Micro Kit for this review.

SBA asks FDA to extend PMTA for one more year!

"In a letter sent to the FDA on June 7, the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Advocacy asked the regulators to seek a court order extending for an additional year the current moratorium on enforcement actions against small vape manufacturers who submitted Premarket Tobacco Applications (PMTAs) before last year’s Sept. 9 deadline."

"The SBA letter doesn’t mean the FDA will ask Judge Grimm to extend the enforcement grace period, but it is an encouraging development."

11 year vaping veteran….just checking in

Hey kids!

I have been so horribly absent from here over the last 5-6 years. Long story short, quit the stinkers on 8-22-10 and haven’t looked back. Vaping has grown and changed so much during the 11 years I have vaped, I won’t even bore you with the details of what gear was like when I started vaping. You fellow veterans know. It took a whole different level of commitment than it does today, because NOTHING had the power, endurance, or availability it does today.

I have been a 8mg/ml vaper for the last 10 years. I did kick it up to 12mg for a bit when I went through a divorce 5 years ago. There have been so many vape ban scare events that I am stocked up on supplies well. I have made my own juice for 10 years so my stash of nic is good to go. I can decrease the mg/ml if that situation ever arises, but at age 44, I think I have enough to last me at least a good 20-25 years at my current mg level. If I drop the level down, I think I am good to go until the nursing home days come calling.

The biggest part of why I wanted to post here again is:
1. After being a smoker for 16 years, I used smoking for every stressor life threw at me. Since I started vaping, I have survived undergrad, my masters, and my doctorate degree. ZERO temptation to go back to the stinkies. Went through a very unexpected divorce. Never tempted to return to Marlboro. If you commit to the process, it does work. I got remarried a year ago. My husband enjoys the occasional cigar and bourbon on the deck. I can hardly stand to smell him when he enjoys a stogie, which is thankfully only a few times a year. I realize how gross it must have been to be around me when I smoked 1-2 PPD. It does suck in the beginning but giving up the stinkies is worth it.

2. 11 years in, zero health issues. I am a physically fit and busy person anyways. But zero lung issues from my years of smoking or my years of vaping. My current PCP doesn’t even know I vape. I can hike with zero problems. I ride a Harley, and do cross country trips on it, and always stop to hike in places to find rando waterfalls and whatnot. I was in the mountains for a week this spring and zero breathing issues or short of air like I used to have when I smoked stinkies. I did find my vape hit a little harder though and I vaped less! Bonus to vaping is I can vape while I am riding my motorcycle, I don’t have to pull over to smoke lol. The Harley is a new hobby since I quit smoking, so I don’t know what that would have been like, but I see fellow riders pulled over to smoke all the time. Glad that isn’t me!

3. I am a mental health provider. I prescribe meds for depression and anxiety and all the other mental health disorders all day long. And I am a HUGE advocate of vaping to patients who want to discuss it. Many mental health patients have a nicotine dependence. I always tell them I will not be the one barking at them to quit, as it is their choice and whatever consequences result from smoking, they are already aware of those and it isn’t my place to preachy preach about it. But I do tell them I used to smoke, I quit 11 years ago, and I have vaped ever since. I have shown several my device and tank, I refer them to local vape shops that I know are good and helpful, and I refer them all to check out this site. I get ...... when I hear how many reply with their PCP telling them how vaping is so bad. The medical world has been brainwashed pretty good, lemme tell ya. I am an outside the box kind of provider, I don’t buy into all the malarkey the “experts” want to feed us. I won’t go into covid and the current state of affairs in our country, but if more healthcare professionals researched instead of following the masses and “expert rules”, our healthcare world would be a better place. Pharma and the FDA annoy the hell out of me. Anyways, there are more of us “good guys” in healthcare though that do advocate and support than some think, but we are still a minority, with the majority being asleep at the wheel about non FDA approved harm reduction and cessation devices. Every time I see a PCP start Chantix I want to scream. It has about a 2% success rate at best from my personal observations. Anyways, the TLDR here is I support the cause and fight for education about vaping every day in my office.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and help from so many of you fellow veterans back in the day. I am still in shock at how much this industry has evolved in a relatively short period of time. Nic salts…..who knew that would ever be a thing! The one discouraging thing is seeing how many companies have closed up shop anticipating the regulations. I loved my freedom smokes for my nicotine. But, that is the nature of retail period, some survive and some don’t. With USPS delaying the mail ban, I think most could have hung on a little longer. But I don’t run their business or know their projections and models and revenue, so I have no place to judge. ❤️ Vape on friends! I will try to stop by and visit you all more often. This always has been and will always be a great community!
