Today I’ll be taking a look at the new VAPORESSO XROS 2. A short time ago I reviewed the XROS MINI and some time ago reviewed the original XROS. I have used the XROS since I received it and was excited to receive the XROS 2 for this review that was sent to me by VAPORESSO. I liked the XROS MINI well enough but really missed the airflow control that the original had and am glad to see that the XROS 2 has the airflow control although it’s a little different from the original. The 2 has a little more battery capacity with 1000mah capacity compared to 800mah with the original and an aesthetic change or two but you can still use the same pods as you did with the original or the MINI.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging on the XROS 2 is similar to what I have seen on the past samples I have received. The outer sleeve with a color picture of the device inside slides off to expose the XROS 2 with pod installed, spare pod, charging cable, and user manual.

The .8 ohm pod that was already installed on the XROS 2 had a sticker on the bottom of the pod so that it could not be fired accidentally before the pod was filled. However, the pods are top fill so someone might just fill the pod then try to use it and think that it doesn’t work. The other pod that is included in the kit is 1.2 ohm and has been my preferred pod with the XROS original as well as the XROS 2.




The battery portion of the XROS 2 is very simplistic yet well designed. The USB-C charging port is located on the bottom of the pod and is rated for 1A charging at 5V. Like the XROS MINI, the 2 has the 150 degree curved bottom which makes holding it more comfortable.




Inside the top of the battery where the pod inserts is the airflow sensor in the middle with two gold plated spring loaded contacts to make electrical connection with the pod and on the outside of the contacts is a magnet on either end. The magnets are plenty strong and I had no issue with the pod moving.




On either side of the battery is a small hole near the top that provides a path for airflow along with the water drop shaped adjustable airflow control on the back side of the battery with a simple V logo near the bottom.





On the front of the battery is where the action is going on. Just like the original XROS, this one can me fired with a button press or simply draw activated. The fire button has a nice click to it and has a silver ring around the outer edge to give it a really nice appearance.

Closer to the bottom is the VAPORESSO name etched into the body and below that are four indicator lights which indicate the battery level of the 100mah battery. While firing, the lights almost look like they are cycling one at a time. At least while taking a puff that’s how it looked to me.

The lights indicate the following battery levels.

- 4 lights = 100%

- 3 lights = 75%

- 2 lights = 50%

- 1 light = 25%




Now on to the pods. These same pods will fit all three of the XROS family of pod devices. The mouthpiece is simply pushed from one side to expose the top. The top has the fill port with gasket, airflow opening, and another hole to let air escape while filling. The pods are clear and very easy to see the liquid level in even when using a fairly clear liquid like I have been using. The pods hold 2ml of liquid and seem to last a decent amount of time before needing to be refilled.







The bottom of the pods have two gold plated contacts, two magnets, and are very clearly marked with the resistance. This I very much like so it is very easy to tell which pod you are picking up. Also the .8 ohm pod has a red gasket in it while the 1.2 ohm pod has a black gasket.




FINAL THOUGHTS:

Like I mentioned in the beginning, I’ve been a big fan of the XROS since I received the original for review and use it daily at work. To me the draw on the XROS MINI was a bit too tight for me and I missed the airflow control of the original. The XROS 2 is as good or a little better than the original. I do like the curved bottom on the new one for better hand feel and the four indicator lights give a little bit better idea of where you are as far as battery level. Of course the added battery capacity of 1000mah compared to the prior 800mah is very much appreciated. The XROS 2 will definitely go into rotation with my original at work.

So, would I recommend the XROS 2. With no reservations, yes if you’d like a smallish pod device that will easily fit in a shirt pocket and could possibly last all day depending on your personal use rate. The ability to pop the mouthpiece and quickly fill is an absolute perk. That and the clear pod making it easy to tell when you need to refill. I have experience no leaking whatsoever with either pod due to the SSS technology that VAPORESSO uses.

Xros 2 » Vaporesso

As the title says, I have a Valyrian II. My issue is that some times when I press the trigger it lowers the wattage on its own. I know it happens on low battery, but even with fully charged relatively new batteries it still happens. It goes down from 300w to like 220-170w. Pressing the trigger and waiting a few times helps sometimes but it still happens pretty often. The coil resistance also goes up a lot when this happens, even though it's a new coil. Any clues?

I want to try my first DIY and am not clear on a couple of things.

1. If a recipe calls for 5 flavors that total 12%, does that mean the other 88% is base PG/VG?

2. I don't want to start with a large amount in case I blow it. Can I start out making 10 ml or 20ml? If so, how the heck do you measure out such small amounts of flavoring with any accuracy?

so i have mod and two 18650s that has been dunked in water..

im trying to dry it right now.. should i throw the batteries away?

Hey Guys,

I have 2 clutch X18 mech mods. For some reason one (The black one) is hitting much weaker than the other (Gunmetal). This just started today. Prior to today, they both hit equally hard.

I have tried swapping the RDAS to see if it was related to the build / coils or RDA. But the trend continues. Whatever RDA i have on the gunmetal one just hits much harder and ramps up much faster. Both RDA’s are the same (Asgard minis) with the same exact coils and the same exact build (Dual 2.5mm Aliens @ 0.1). But as mentioned above i did swap the RDAS and whichever one is on the gunmetal mod just ramps up way faster and hits much harder.

I also tried with several sets of fully charged batteries to rule out a battery issue. I even put the batteries from the gunmetal one in the black one, and still didn’t see any change.

My only guess is maybe some of the contacts on the inside are dirty or damaged? If so how would i go about cleaning them?

Or if anyone has any other ideas as to what might be the cause please let me know.

Side by sides are super popular lately, and for good reason. Their compact size packs all the function of a mod + atomizer into basically the size of a modest mod. Sometimes, that form means giving up some features. Sometimes, it means a proprietary tank and committing to a meager selection of drop in coils, but the Z1 is not going to fence you in. The rebuildable deck makes it a cinch to customize it to your preference, or you can use your favorite atomizer up to 24mm – although, as good as the included Siren 3 GTA is, you may not want to swap it out.

The Siren 3 GTA has a small but easy to build deck, and the coils that are included are 2 and 2.5mm ID, from 1.2 ohms down to .5. The are NI80 which is not my thing, but I grabbed a .5 and dropped it in. Why I don’t care for NI80 is I can taste it, and it interferes with the flavor for me. But I can say that the Siren has such good flavor, I don’t even notice any difference between this and my usual SS316. And they come in a nice little box, so they’re in perfect shape when you go to use them.



The cap twists off with a half turn to reveal the generous fill ports, and the air flow offers a wide range of adjustment. It’s considered MTL, but I get a decent restricted DL with it wide open. It has a two-sided air flow ring, one small hole and one large – it’s easier to show than tell how that works.

The menu – click Fire 5 times to turn the mod on and off. Press Fire 3 times to enter the menu, and use + or – to switch between wattage, voltage, and bypass modes. Press the + and – to lock the adjustments, and with the adjustments locked, you can also lock the fire button by pressing it 3 times. To unlock just press Fire 3 times, then unlock the + and – by pressing both.



The body is made of zinc alloy and the finish is nice. It’s odd though, that there are three metal colors. The color I got is called Silver Grey Scallop Shell. The main body is almost a gunmetal, the battery cap and Digiflavor logo plate on the side are closer to sandblasted pewter, and the battery tube is stainless steel. It’s actually not a bad design element, and the cap and plate match the tank really well. The abalone is not real abalone though – it’s more than a sticker, like some sort of thin panel. It looks nice at any rate, not cheap or cheesy. The screen is tiny, but clear enough to read. It doesn’t have enough room to show anything but the basics, but that’s all I need. Seems to help with battery life, which is really good.



I do find the threading on the battery cap a little crunchy, and you have to press down on it a little to get it to catch – it’s spring loaded. That, and the too-long metal drip tip of the Siren, are my only complaints. I swapped out the drip tip for a pink 510 from my collection and have been really enjoying this little kit.

For the past 5 years I've been vaping C & D from Alien Visions. It was the juice that got me off tobacco 5+ years ago. Looks like they've hit a snag, so looking for a decent substitute. Freemax sent me the Freemax Marvos S 80W kit for the purpose of this review.



I hadn’t heard of this kit before holding the box in my hand, and was surprised to find I was sent a first batch item. For this reason, please note that this may not be exactly the item(s) you receive in the future.

Small detail, but I hope Freemax continues to package in this manner, the ribbon on the foam protector helps get the mod out of the box, and also makes it easy to get the foam out. All the extra stuff is in a tidy box below, easy to remove with the tab.

Let’s start with the pod. It’s plastic – I have not found any specifics on what type- but it’s quite thick and does not look like it would be easy to break. The drip tip is built in, which will be a con to some. The fill port is on the bottom and accessed with a reasonably sized silicon bung. It does not seem terribly sturdy, and I worry it may not last very long. It is meant to be used as a pod, from what I gather, and probably not designed to be as long-lived as a regular tank. Replacements will be available, Freemax says.



So none of this is a huge surprise. What is different is the pod is held into the air flow ring with magnets, while the air flow ring screws into the 510 on the mod.



And that would be interesting, since it would be so easy to pop one pod off, pop another on, if you want a quick flavor change. However, since the AFC ring spins and does not lock, it makes it tricky to tighten the AF to the base. Seems to unscrew well enough, but hard to tell if it’s screwed on right.



The two-sided air flow gives unrestricted air and closes down to fairly restricted, which should suit most DL vapers, but may be just a wee bit airy for some of you.



The MS type coils are, according to Freemax’s site, ‘Better than the best”. I’m not going to say I agree with that, but they are every bit as good as every Freemax coil I’ve tried, and they’ve all been among the best coils I’ve used.



The mod is petite and I really like the aesthetics. The body is made of zinc alloy and vegan leather. The leather looks and feels like regular leather, but with a little cushion. The zinc is so smooth, the finish is perfect, the edges are rounded. It’s really comfy in the hand.



It holds one 18650 battery, and the cap threads are smooth.



The .95” TFT screen on mine is slightly scratched, an issue that likely is a first run problem that I wouldn’t expect to see in later production.



The menu is easy and simple. Five clicks of the power button turns it on and off. Three clicks changes between modes, Power, Smart, and Bypass. +/- adjust the wattage output which adjusts in 1 watt increments and does not round robin. Press + and - and hold to lock/unlock. Press – and power to change the screen color, and you can pick from blue, orange, green, red, and white. The mod I was sent is called yellow, and the orange screen compliments the leather nicely. The power does reset to 50W when you change the battery, so be sure to adjust it before vaping.



My thoughts… I’m not in love with the pod, mainly because of the rather wimpy fill bung. I could be persuaded to be a bit more of a fan when I see what the price of replacements is going to be; if they’re going to be a couple bucks like most replaceable pods, I can live with that. If they edge closer to the price of a cheap tank, I’ll say no thanks. They are super easy to deal with, the coils are great, and the vapor and flavor are better than expected. The air flow is lovely, far better than I’ve found in similar little kits, but I’d like to see a stopper on the ring so it doesn’t free spin like it does.



I love the mod. It’s simple, but beautiful, elegant even. It fits and feels great in the hand, and the +/- buttons are on the side where I’m not constantly hitting them, although they do lock too, so no accidental adjustments.

I think most when thinking of Kamrytech in the same thought will also visualise one of their affordable epipes which they are renowned for! In this almost mini review I take a look at the upgrade to the K1000, the K1000 Plus which comes with the K1000 Plus Atomiser.

The K1000 Plus has a 1100mAh in-built battery and is a direct output device, it comes with protections so is what is referred to as a semi-mechanical device! Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The K1000 Plus comes in sturdy cardboard box packaging with each individual part in it's own compartment. Just two colour options are available Black and Wood Grain, I received the Wood Grain which some may refer to as Walnut, just to mention the Black version also has a grain effect!

The bowl is constructed from Zinc Alloy and has a slanted base, the bowl also has a wood grain effect finish with chrome rim and fire button up top, finally towards the top on the front of the bowl we find the micro USB port. Just to point out the finish uses an anode oxidisation process which should prevent fading.

On the side of the bowl we have a vertically positioned air fed 510 plate with Gold plated, spring loaded 510. The atomiser fits onto the bowl via the 510 thread and then we have a wood grain effect heat reducing plastic elongated drip tip which looks very much like the mouthpiece of a wooden pipe!





I love how the assembled pipe stands up at an angle and once use to firing via the large fire button located at the top of the bowl it's a very ergonomically friendly device. At this stage the only negative I have is the fire button does give some rattle!

What You Receive?

You receive the main pipe bowl which houses the inbuilt battery, has the fire button with LED surround up top and 510 plate and threading on one side.





You then also get the atomizer plus two 0.5ohm coil heads, elongated pipe style drip tip, USB cable and paperwork

The Atomiser

The K1000 Plus atomiser is basically a standard atomiser with 510 thread so can be used with other devices. We have dual cyclops airflow adjustment and up top a 510 drip tip fitment so if using on another device you can use an alternative drip tip.

The top metal section, chamber, air pipe and glass all appears to be one complete unit as I couldn't take it apart so if you do break the glass the whole atomiser will need replacing and that also explains why there is no spare glass or O-rings!

The base section unscrews from the main tank to reveal the coil head gets screwed into the base section and when screwing the tank back together the top of the coil head will also seal to the air pipe at the top of the chamber with an O-ring!

Looking inside the main tank section with base removed you can see 4 fill ports which are not the biggest but I had no issues filling both quickly and mess free, the capacity is 4ml. As far as I am aware the only coil option is the 0.5ohm (two are included) which are available in packs of 5!

Operating The device

The K1000 Plus is a simple direct output device so as the voltage on the battery reduces so will the wattage output. The device is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and off, both are indicated by 3 White flashes of the fire button surround!





That's it! simply press the fire button and vape, while firing the fire button surround lights up. With 30 seconds of inactivity the device will go into sleep mode to save power but will fire from sleep mode with no noticeable delay!

Using Independently

Both atomiser and battery can be used independently as it uses a standard 510 thread and connection and the drip tip fitting is a standard 510 also! Although other 510 drip tips fit absolutely fine in the K1000 Plus atomiser it has quite a deep hollow as the pipe style mouthpiece's section that gets fitted inside the 510 fitment is a bit longer than with most 510's so when using other atomisers with the epipe the pipe stem style drip tip doesn't quite push all the way in but it works fine!

Charging

I found this let the device down as it took just over 2 and half hours to charge, it does support pass-through but the supplied cable is very short!

When first plugging the USB cable in the fire button surround flashes White 3 times before lighting solid White for the duration of the charge, once fully charged the light goes out!

My Thoughts!

I have always liked the idea of an epipe but never actually got one because I suspected it would have wicking and leaking issues due to the atomiser being on it's side but after using the K1000 Plus in the evenings since I received it and more extensively over the last 5 days neither have materialised as I haven't had any leaking whatsoever and it's wicked absolutely fine!

No specs are given for the coils apart from they are 0.5ohm but they are mesh and little flavour bangers and as I still have the same initial coil head in use means longevity is above average and also confirms there are no issues with wicking! I also like that the tank can be used independently and other atomizers with a 510 drip tip fitting can be used with the epipe battery and pipe style drip tip even if the drip tip doesn't quite push all the way in.

It is a direct output device so the vape got weaker as the battery ran down, the drop off is a total of 14w which is quite a lot but it was gradual and even towards the end of the battery life it still gave a decent vape and for the most part i was pleasantly surprised what a nice smooth vape it gave. The airflow adjustment gives varying RDL and semi-RDL draws, you can't really do a decent MTL but also not really a full on DL as even fully open there is some restriction!

The fire button does give some rattle but my main con is battery life and charging time. When I was using it just in the Evenings the 1100mAh battery was fine but since using it as my main device to more thoroughly test it then it has needed a couple of charges a day! It takes about 2 and half hours to charge which is quite sluggish for a 1100mAh, it does support pass-through though but if vaping while charging you might want to use a longer cable than the one supplied!

Hi Guys,

I just got my first Purge mod (Purge Slugger single 21700 mod)

I built it at 0.13 ohms with some Coilturd Aliens in my Asgard mini. I used a Samsung 30T battery. All I can say is damn it hit like a TRUCK!

This is my first tube mech mod. And I’m just wondering how it can hit so much harder than my Clutch X18 (dual 18650 Parallel mod?)

I use the same RDA on both (Asgard Mini’s)

But theoretically shouldnt my Clutch be hitting harder?

On the Clutch I’m running 2 X Sony VTC5A’s (25A x 2 = 50A) @ 0.09 = 196 W (At 4.2v)
On the Purge I’m Running 1 X Samsung 30T (35A) @ 0.13 = 135 W (At 4.2v)

But the difference is night and day. On the Purge Tube I took like 4-5 chain vapes and i literally felt dizzy (I use 3MG, but it felt like 10MG). Also the vape was way warmer and stronger.

On my clutch i chain vape 3MG all day and feel normal.

If anyone could clue me in that would be appreciated!
