Eleaf iStick Power 2 Mod 5.000mAh 80W 6.jpg

First impressions:
Eleaf iStick Power 5.000mah is an ancient Eleaf workhorse, the original project dates back to 2016. "Power" over the years has been very successful thanks mainly to the generous battery that allows a lot of autonomy to its happy owners.
I wondered several times why the subsequent products released on the market by Eleaf reached a maximum of 4,600mAh! Such as the Ikunn I200 Mod.
Now finally the real restyling of this Mod (Power 2) has been released which adopts a new chipset, a 0.96 "horizontal color display, materials with precious decorations and a new USB-C port for fast charging.

Eleaf iStick Power 2 Mod 5.000mAh 80W 7.jpg

Portability:
The "simplistic" shape has been maintained, the curves have been softened and the contained measures are very similar to the previous version. All these aspects combined with the "feeling" of the soft leather insert result in optimal portability with greater tactile pleasure.

Eleaf iStick Power 2 Mod 5.000mAh 80W 8.jpg

Side view:
The two-tone insert in eco leather is embellished with artisan-style stitching and is perfectly inserted into the zinc alloy frame of this Mod. Like the label of a famous designer, we find on one side the writing "ipower" and on the other the written "eleaf".
The 2A USB-C port is positioned to keep the mod upright while charging.

Eleaf iStick Power 2 Mod 5.000mAh 80W 9.jpg

Front / rear section:
The large and bright 0.96 "TFT four-color display is easy to read and shows all the information useful for vaping. The intelligent AVATAR chipset in addition to the normal POWER mode, supports SMART mode and VOLTAGE mode.

The round shaped fire button is well positioned, easily operated with the index finger. The Up / Down adjustment buttons are located on the lower part above a rocker.
The handle is soft and well decorated.

Vapcell is offering refunds for any bad K64 cells

If you have any Vapcell K64 26650 cells that were at a low voltage (<2.5V) when you received them or that will not hold a charge then contact the vendor you bought them from for a refund. They should have been at 3.4V or higher but should never be used if they dropped below 2.5V.

If the vendor will not refund your money then contact Vapcell at eva@vapcelltech.com. If Vapcell ignores you after multiple attempts then contact me.

If you are not sure you have bad K64 cells then charge them fully and let them sit for a day to let their voltages settle. After a day’s rest accurately measure and write down their voltages. Then store them in a non-conductive case at room temperature for at least a week and then re-measure their voltages. If any have dropped by more than a few thousandths of a volt then IMO they are self-discharging too fast and you should get a refund.

I don’t know what percentage of this batch of K64’s is bad but I have gotten a few reports of dead cells.

Some vendors are still selling these cells. If you want to buy K64’s be sure that the vendor tests their voltages before shipping, double-check their refund policy, and check the voltage of your cells as soon as you receive them.

Issues with Fireluke 904L coils

Hello everyone! I've been vaping for several years now but I'm new to this forum. I've always used and loved my Freemax Fireluke M and Fireluke 2. I've used the X3s and TX3 (my favorite) and have never had any issues. However, these new 904L X3s coils are ..... I bought 8 of the 5 packs a few weeks ago when I couldn't find the TX3s and literally every single coil is garbage. I've tried a coil from each of the 8 different packs. All junk. I even tried 904L X4s. Junk too! Is anyone else having the same dry/cotton hit issues as me? I can't imagine that I'm the only one. Does anyone have any info on this problem?

Special thanks to @Freemax_Jerry for sending me this kit and the RBA coil for review.

Specifications:

Review:

This metal edition looks much better than the initial plastic edition, it does not look so cheap. Design of this mod reminds me a lot from the Drag 2, pretty much the same form factor. Mod feels proper, but I wish they would have taken a bit slower with the branding on the left side of the device. Also, not a fan of the stripe design going on, would have preferred a clear panel.

You can insert two 18650 batteries once removing the battery door. What makes this mod unique is that you can place your batteries any way you like, and it will work, that is because of the smartload technology, very nice. Another nice feature is that it also works with a single 18650 when inserting into the slot closest to the screen. Also, here it does not matter which direction you put your battery. The mod recognizes the amount of batteries inserted. When just one is inserted it limits the mod to 80W and only shows one battery bar on the screen. When two are inserted you can fire up to 200W and two battery bars appear on the screen. Very nice all this ease with batteries.

Battery door is not perfect. It does have very strong magnets and connects well, but it wiggles left and right, kind of annoying. Heard the initial version also had this issue, so its not fixed.

All buttons feel really nice and sturdy. They sit flush and do not rattle or anything. They also respond very well.

Main screen is nice and bright enough, no colors, just white on black. It shows output, Resistance, puff-counter and battery level (1 bar when one battery is inserted and two when two are inserted).

This mod has quite a bit going on inside, lots of functions and nice additional informative menu's.

Let's start with the informative menu, here you can check the voltage output for each battery, the temperature of the mod, firmware version.

Seems all kind of standard, but its not. Cannot recall any mod that shows you the temperature of the mod or voltage per battery. Even though it does not have any function, it is cool to be able to find such information.

In the ‘SET’ menu you can set the Timeout time, test the coil, reset the puff counter, set the time, choose between Celcius and Fahrenheit and reset the device to factory settings.

Output functions it has plenty. Wattage, TCR, TC Ni, TC SS, TC TI, Bypass, vape curve Did do a short test of each and all seemed to work well. Since I am plain and simple, I generally don't go any further than wattage.

Included tank is an updated version from the M Pro which I have reviewed some time ago. The M Pro version two is similar, but slightly less bulky. Coils for the M Pro and M Pro 2 are interchangeable, which is good.

Let me begin by saying the main con of this tank right at the start; the color does not match the mod. The mod has a stainless-steel type of finish while the tank is black, also the marble panel do not match the black tank. Kind of strange to sell a kit but not have the colors match up. Looking at the other available color setups it seems to be mainly different with the kit that I received, the other color options have much batter matching tanks.

General design of the tank is nice, and it feels properly made, did not experience any issues with this tank if its about the design. Both top and bottom of the tank match each other with its knurling design.

I received the TPD version which holds just 2ML, but luckily Freemax also separately included the 5ML bubble glass. Capacity of 5ML is OK, could have been bigger especially when using the triple or quadruple coil it drinks up lots of liquid.

Really like the top fill system with the child-lock. A red indicator shows where exactly to lift up the cap and slide it open. Fill port is of proper size, but it is complex to fill with larger tip bottles. Not because of the size of the fill-port, but because the top-cap does not slide open sufficient enough to properly get in there. Still its not a mess when filling with larger bottles, just drop it in there and the pressure relieve hole on the opposite side makes sure it does not flood back at you.

Airflow is very airy when wide open and can be restricted to a very nice RDL draw. Airflow is not silent nor turbulent, it is not disturbing and quite smooth. Easy to turn the airflow ring because of the knurled design.

Same as all Freemax Subohm tanks coils are screwed into the base of the tank. It is easy to take the tank apart to get to the base and the edging on the coils make it easy to unscrew them, even when lubricated.

Probably don't have to say this as I said it many times, but Freemax coils for me are the best SubOhm coils I have tried. Amazingly crisp flavor, proper longevity and just very smooth. I've tried all M Pro coils in the past and they are simply amazing. The dual, triple and quadruple coils they do love sucking up a lot of liquid, but to me every added coil is more flavor.

Also received the RBA coil and for that I can only be positive. It is very easy to build on with it postless design and you can just screw it into the base of the tank to get the hotspots out. Honeycomb bottom airflow does its job very well, because the flavor on this RBA coil is just great. This is the best RBA coil I have tried so far both in single and dual setup, very much recommend it. For me it performs better than lots of RTA tanks out there, so if you are looking for a tank that allows for drop-in coils and a rebuildable then this is a very good choice.

Conclusion:

Not a bad kit at all, much like using the Maxus 200W kit. It vapes great, flavor is great and the RBA coil is great. The metal edition for sure looks much better than the initial plastic edition.

Any downsides to mention are the battery door being a bit wiggly and the tank not being in the same color as the mod. Esthetic wise it’s not my favorite looking mod, but it does not look bad as well. For the rest all features and functions are very welcomed.

Would I suggest buying this mod? There are better mods out there, but this one would not disappoint in my opinion. I wouldn’t mind spending some money for this kit, and would for sure recommend getting the RBA coil, because it’s great.

Thank you for reading, take care!

Is Maxus 200W Kit Worth Buying?

I think it's worth purchasing one Maxus 200W Box Mod Kit because there are some attractive features that make this box mod kit unique in the vape market.

The first outstanding feature of Maxus 200W is that it applies patented SmartLoad Tech for loading the batteries, so there is no need to distinguish positive and negative poles anymore.

The second outstanding feature - There are two editions for options: Metal Edition VS Resin Edition. M Pro 2 Metal Edition is designed with Child Resistant Top Fill Design and CRC qualified, while M Pro 2 Resin Edition is designed with three steel balls into the top cap to increase friction.

The third outstanding feature - SS904L M Mesh Coils for M Pro 2 Tank comes with military-grade SS904L mesh and Tea Fiber Cotton formula (95% Tea Fiber Cotton plus 5% Organic Cotton), providing users with the best vaping experience which is even better than all the best sub-ohm tanks in the market. Hello, I am trying to start Vaping again

Hello,
My name is Max, that is the shortened version of my real name Maxine, which I hate. I live in the Florida Keys.
I have been a member for sometime, but I quit vaping several years back.

I recently bought a Krona R, thinking I could figure how to work it. Unfortunately, it keeps leaking on me. I won't blame the product, since it could very well be me not knowing what I am doing that caused it to leak.
Could any of you suggest a different, and simpler to use type of vaping kit, to help me get back to vaping?

I do like a lot of cloud, and I like buying e-juice that is already mixed for me.
Thank you for any help.

Been Vaping since 2011, and All Ejuice Tastes Horrible Now. :(

What the title says. I've been vaping since 2011. Haven't had a cig since 2011. A full decade of happy vaping.

But my juice vendor went out of business (Uncle Junk's Jon Wayne is what I have vaped for years).

I have tried soooooooooooo much trying to find just something that is vapable. I have 30+ bottles of juice in the cabinet right now - and every single one of them tastes like crap (soapy, perfumy, licorice "y") and DRY DRY DRY. Everything from tobaccos to strawberry crunch and in between (I don't do menthols).

I bought some nic, some pg, some vg and 25 bottles of various (TFA) flavours. Same thing. Nasty. Just. Horrible. It's like I am vaping dawn detergent. Plain VG/PG mix is tolerable (but still feels horribly "dry" and with no flavor at all it's sooooo sad).

If I were trying to quit smoking now and just started vaping it would not work. I swear right now vaping to my mouth is as bad as an analog. Just freaking awful.

(And it's not just a steeping thing. I have several bottles of other juice I made AND some I bought from back in January that have steeped 5 months and nope, hasn't improved them at all - and in fact in two cases, made the juice worse).

Does anyone know what magic Uncle Junk's used to make their juice wet, flavorful and not chemically tasting?

Getting pretty desperate here.

Bench Test Results: Hohm Tech Home Alone – 15.3A 3309mAh 18650…great performer but has a short life

These tests below only note my personal ESTIMATED ratings for these batteries at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. They are not supposed to be used outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
This is a great performing cell but it has a very short life. When new it is the best performing 18650 over 3000mAh at low power levels and also equals the Samsung 30Q at 15A. But it loses that performance very quickly.

I cycled two Hohm Alone cells 200 times at 2A charge/4A discharge (mildly abusive) and they lost about 27% of their capacity, a huge amount. I also cycled two Samsung 30Q’s and two Sanyo NCR1850650GA cells 200 times. These other cells are, in my opinion, the nearest competition for the Home Alone cell at low to medium power levels.

After those 200 cycles the Samsung 30Q’s lost about 9% of their capacity and the NCR18650GA’s lost about 14%. After 400 cycles the Samsung 30Q’s still lost only about 15% of their capacity.

Both Home Alone cells had slightly bulged can bottoms due to internal gas pressure (from cell aging) and were essentially useless at their 15A rating after the 200 cycles. Both the Samsung 30Q and Sanyo NCR18650GA only lost a little performance and would be usable for many more cycles. But a new 30Q or NCR18650GA did not perform as well as a new Hohm Alone cell.

According to Hohm Tech the Hohm Alone cell had to sacrifice cycle life in order to achieve the great performance this cell has when new. They say we can’t have a high current rating, high capacity rating, and long cycle life all at the same time. If we want one of those to be very high then one or two of those other things have to be lowered.

I am frustrated that Hohm Tech didn’t publicly reveal that these cells had a short life until I posted the preliminary cycle life test results on Patreon. In fact, as of today the Hohm Tech web page for this cell still says “This battery is built for the long haul.” (HΩ ALONE 18650 (2 pack) 3.6V 3309MAH 15.3A 44W INSANELY-HIGH Drain Rechargeable Li-ion Battery Cell - Hohm Tech - Ultra-High Performance Cells). I strongly disagree.

If maximum when-new performance is your top priority though then consider giving these cells a try. But you might be replacing them more often than other cells you have used.

I cannot say how long these will last for you before their performance drops to the levels of others cells or how long before they reach the end of their life. To try to slow down the performance loss I recommend staying under 5A-7A (15W-21W), pulsed or continuous, and charging at 0.5A or lower.

The four Home Alone cells I tested delivered 3366mAh to 3376mAh. This is fantastic consistency and Hohm Tech’s oddly specific 3309mAh rating seems reasonable. Their 15.3A continuous current rating (also oddly specific) seems reasonable for decent performance when the cell is new but I feel the Hohm Alone cell should only be used at much lower current levels to try to slow down its aging.

Four cells were donated for testing by Hohm Tech (Hohm Tech ~ Ultra-Premium Li-ion Battery Cells w/ Anti-Counterfeit Tops). Thank you!
