First impressions:
I received Luxe Q in the "Blue" version, after taking it out of the box I began to get to know it, Luxe Q appears solid, heavier than a normal Pod Basic. The smooth and glossy finish of the zinc alloy frame and the velvety plastic with scaly texture creates a pleasant tactile feedback.
I'm talking about a product as big as a lighter, probably even thinner, robustness and dimensions are definitely a good Pro for Luxe Q.



Luxe Q in shape and appearance is clearly inspired by the big sister Luxe PM40, I would say a copy in reduced scale.



Luxe Q stands up thanks to a good support base, even during the charging phase.
On the side panels which are elegantly covered with soft decorated plastic, we find; the USB-C charging port and the notification LED the remaining battery charge.

- Red light: 0-30%

By inserting the Type-C charging cable, Luxe Q takes about 60 minutes to recharge to 100%, at the completion of the operation the indicator light turns green and steady.

In the event of malfunctions, we will receive the following notifications, by flashing the LED light:
- Short circuit, Red light x 5 times
- No load, Red light x 5 times
- Low voltage, Red light x 3 times
- Over discharge, Red light x 3 times
- Low resistance, Red light x 5 times

Lost Vape is well-known for quality products, and the Grus is no exception.



The Grus uses a single 18650, 20700, or 21700 battery and comes with an adapter, of course. In the box you'll also find the charging cable and manual.






The battery cap, located on the bottom of the mod, had a really nice half-round bar that swings out to unscrew the cap – it’s firm, so it doesn’t fall down when you don’t want it to, but it’s also easy to pull down and grasp. Much nicer, I think, than the center bar types. The threads are smooth, and changing batteries is frustration-free.



It has a type C charging port, and the battery icon will be animated while it’s charging, so you’ll know when it’s done.



The most surprising thing, in my opinion, is that the Grus will accommodate a 30mm atomizer. 30mm. And, as is par for Lost Vape mods, the battery life is top notch, so you could really make use of a load of juice with this bad little boy.








The display is .96 inches, and bright and clear, and gives you six color options. All you have to do to change the color is hold the Select button (between the UP and DOWN buttons) for two seconds to switch between white, purple, yellow, red, blue, and green.



It comes in nine colors, three each in the Carbon Fiber series, the Wood series, and the Universe series. Mine is the Universe/Jungle, which has the green side panels. If I had to say one bad thing about this mod, it’s those panels. They’re just not as nice as I would expect. Kind of cheesy in person, I think. For the money though, that’s a really petty complaint. And sorry for the spoiler, but yes, that’s the worst I can say about the Grus.



For the price of a pod, you’ll get a very nice looking mod, beautifully finished, with the ability to use a 30mm atomizer, temp control, power, and voltage mode. Voltage, that’s not something you see every day. I’m running in it now, just because I can.



And the menu is straight forward and easy. Just click the Select button and use the UP or DOWN to scroll through the options. The wattage and voltage adjust in .1 increments, temperature adjusts in 5 degree increments. They all round robin, and temperatures are given in both Fahrenheit and Celsius – just keep pushing the UP or DOWN and when it gets to it’s highest F setting, it’ll start at the lowest C setting.



It’s on the heavy side at 176 grams, but I don’t find that to be a drawback. It feels nice and solid, and very smooth, rounded corners make it easy to hold and use.





All in all, I’d call this a winner.

I was given the Vandy Vape 25 mm Widowmaker RTA by Sourcemore for the purpose of this review.

In the box, you’ll find the RTA, two extra air flow rings – one is a round hole, the other is an oval, and the one installed is a multi hole – a pair of triple fused clapton coils, a bag of O rings, grub screws, and a 510 adapter, plus a leg trimming guide.






The Widowmaker is a dual coil, dual air flow RTA with juice flow control. It’s a whopping 51 mm tall and holds 5 mls of juice with the straight glass and 6 mls with the bubble glass.



The postless deck is roomy and easy to build. I installed two 3.5 mm ID 6 wrap 28Gx2/34G fused claptons and they have plenty of elbow room. I have a hard time eyeballing how long coil legs should be, especially on a postless deck. But I noticed there’s an arrow on the leg trimming tool that points to 5mm, which works great. Nice touch.





The airflow comes from the top and bottom and hits the coils from below, and no matter how I adjusted it, or which AF ring I used, it is very smooth, but I don’t get a really tight draw ever. I’m not surprised, because it is geared towards DL, but it may be a bit too airy for some.




One of the tricky things with this RTA is that the air flow ring also controls the juice flow. Especially on a new RTA, when they’re still stiff, it’s going to be really frustrating to adjust either without screwing the other one up. Lubing the O rings under the AF ring helps – in fact, while you’re at it, just rub a little juice on all the O rings. Everything is really smooth, but it’s still tight and juice makes everything better. It’s a little easier to adjust the air with the bottom ring, but doesn’t adjust it by much. And that bottom ring is not attached to the base. Definitely a con for me.



The juice flow is that little dot inside the cutaway on the AF ring. The dots above it are indicators for how far open it is, from left to right, least to most.



To fill, just screw the top off. It only has one juice hole, but it’s more than adequate – it’ll accommodate even those rounded tip bottles, and there’s enough space that it’s not a slow fill. I hate a slow filler, or one that burps juice back. This one fills nice.



I installed the bubble glass mostly so you could see how completely ridiculous it looks. With the straight glass, it’s a rather nice looking RTA. I’m not crazy about this color – frosted gray – but otherwise it’s it’s nice. This color though… I have around a hundred mods, and it goes with none of them. But the bubble glass? I’m not a hater, and with some RTAs I kind of like the look, others I’ll use it for more juice capacity, or because the straight glass fills too slowly. This gives you one more ml of liquid and turns the atty into this freak of nature. I wouldn’t let my friends walk around like this. I mean I’d say something.





Okay, but how does it vape? Like I said, the AF is great. Very smooth and as much air as you’d want. Too many fussy fiddly parts to it, which is a definite con for me. The flavor is as good as most of my dual coil RTAs, I wouldn’t say the best, but I wouldn’t chuck it in the creek, either. I think there’s so much going on with this thing that’s just plain superfluous. There’s no benefit to adding the extra AF rings or the bubble glass – an extra straight would be appreciated.



To sum up, in the price range it’s about what you’d expect. It’s well made, the threads are all smooth, the finish is flawless. It has a nice juice capacity – even with the straight glass. Smooth air, fairly quiet, good flavor. Easy to fill. 25 mm, because you know, sometimes you need a 25 mm. The deck. I love the deck. I appreciate that it comes with a leg trimming guide, and that it’s marked, and that the 510 adapter is included.



On the con side, that bottom AF ring is not secured to the base. Too many parts that don’t seem to make any difference but I’m OCD and will have to keep track of them till the day I die. Juice control – unnecessary. It’s also just silly tall – but that may or may not be a negative for you.



All in all, a nice RTA from Vandy Vape.

Vandy Vape Rath RDA: Vandy Vape Rath RDA Atomizer

Hey, long-time vaper (2010) new poster, avid lurker. I've never really had much to say, but figure now is as good a time as any to try posting! After a long absence coming back in December and realizing that the vape ban looks as though it could shut things down in the US was quite eye-opening, to say the least. I have been stockpiling since 2016, but truly hoped it wouldn't come to this. Still have a few more things I need to locate before it is too late - and as always cling to hope I can find them!

Anyway, decided to officially say hello and hope to start posting a bit more in the future.

Hi guys , thanks for reading my thread and hopefully I learn more about vaping and oms, voltage and other stuff... quick question for you guys, I bught a kangertech Evod mega 1900mah , it came with double coil 1.5 oms ( is that the way you put it ? Oms” I can’t find that shaped U thingy anywhere on my keyboard phone )

Anyway it worked ok for a few hours and I’m getting dry hits here and there . I’m wondering why .

The other coil I had was also 1.5 but lasted me for good 3 weeks ! It had few dry hits after a week also here and there but I’m cheap and I dragged the air out or twisted coil a bit so air bubbles get out and it was still good and worked for few more hours so that’s why it lasted 3 weeks , this one is new and only few hrs so it shouldn’t .

I’m using 80% pg juice
I primed it nicely over night with few drops in (kanger 101 ) went thru that
Cleaned coil always
Juice is pomango so bright light pink color a touch of sweetness in it . ( I heard they tend to clog coils but never had issues with other coils or atomizers.

but I’m thinking maybe voltage is to high for this coil. The other one worked extensively well and was very impressed how much steam is coming and I had to cough more often to get water steam out of my lungs lol very powerful setup .....very steamy and nice flavor with huge boost compared to my other e cig pens like Evod ll 2.2 ohm and 3.3 -3.5 volts which has also nice dense Vape and flavor , but not like the 1.5 oms one . This one is a beast ! Maybe too powerfull? That’s why I get dry hits faster?

I have a graph here and a picture :

The battery generates 3.7 voltage so the coil should be around 2.1-2.5 not 1.5 oms ?

but since it’s double coil maybe it’s different... hmmmmm

What you think ? Is the graph correct ?

Where's a good place online to order 18650s?

hello people! i'm from Hungary, vaping for a year but only now i could say that i managed to put down analog cigarettes for real as got used to vaping 100%. i've started with PnP pod tank devices, but this country is becoming more and more hostile towards vapers and i like tinkering anyway so i'm really into DIY, including RTAs.

i'm looking for tips and recommendations how to wick a Vapefly's Brunhilde Top Coiler RDTA properly.
can you please recommend us some good vape wires that are actually thicker and sturdier, yet are fitting for the 0.25-0.30Ω criteria in a dual build?

the thing is, my gf's been loving it but often complains about that her Hilda would spread the pre-made coils' legs as there are not enough wraps and they're too thin and fragile. she uses Wotofo Dual Core Fused Clapton Ni80 0.62Ω coils (28x2+38) and still likes them because of good flavors. she prefers vaping at ~0.25-0.30Ω on 35-45W and wants the wraps to stay tight.

so now i'd rather build coils from vape wire because looks like she needs at least 6 wraps, or even 7 and most pre-made coils are less than that. however i don't really know where to look and what to grab. e.g. i have a single coil RDTA in which i use Wotofo's Framed Staple Clapton Ni80 0.33Ω and that thick "wire fence" design is neat and something similar would be great, with higher resistance of course! (i also have a spool of VandyVape's Superfine MTL Fused Clapton Wire SS316L and while 2.37Ω/f is more favorable, it's way too thin and Hilda would ruin it in an instant.)
is there any viable option?

The Arcfox Kit by SMOK is the latest subohm kit from SMOK which has the new TFV18 tank as part of the kit. Featuring all the usual stuff you would expect from a SMOK device, the mod itself looks very...umm...familiar.

I've had the VV Pulse V2 squonk for awhile and like it. It was sitting idle for about 1 week and when I went to use it I found it was sitting in a puddle of liquid. Checking further it seems that the liquid was also in the bottom of each door panel (I think from sitting in the puddle). I cleaned it all up and washed the squonk bottle and all its bits. I did a little searching and this seems to be a problem with the cap for the bottom fill. If you look close you will see the hinge pins (for the flip out handle) are not sealed and if liquid travels down the threads of the fill cap then liquid can seep to the outside of the cap.
What I've done to fix is to use Teflon tape around the threads. Being thin there does not seem to be any issues with screwing the cap back onto the squonk bottle.
I've cut the Teflon tape so that only the threads and hinge pins are covered. About two wraps should do it.
Teflon tape being used for drinking water connections should be OK to use around e-liquid (at least that's my guess).

Yep, they seem to be coming out pretty quickly these days, and the last few weeks have seen a heap of simple and straight forward Pod devices released that are aimed at beginner vapers, or simply for those who don’t want the extra hassle of all the gadgets and bells and whistles. Those who just want to put their juice in and go!

Today’s product is from Voopoo. Yeah you know them, they’ve released a heap of successful Pods or Pod Mods over the last year or so, they’ve done some pretty great things in that space.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at Voopoo’s latest Vinci Pod Kit!

General Info
I have to admit, I was a little taken back when I received this package. The original Vinci was a much larger Pod Mod, and became quite popular for it’s flavour and ease of use (even if it was a little leaky!). To open the box and find a device not even half the size, and catering to the MTL crowd really surprised me. But I guess they have released several products under the moniker “Vinci” over the years, so it should have been expected at some point.

Either way, if you hadn’t realised, I’m a bit of a fan of these types of devices, they’re brilliant for new vapers, and for those wanting to replicate smoking while they are on their quit journey. So to see Voopoo come out with another super simple Pod device, had me pretty curious!

I wasn’t disappointed, just the specs on the Vinci Pod, show that Voopoo know what they’re doing. This little champ sports a 2ml e-liquid capacity, an 800mah internal battery, USB Type-C charging, and my favourite feature by far, true adjustable airflow!

There are no buttons here, it is a pure auto-draw device. Just vape!


The Body

In true Voopoo style, the body of the Vinci Pod, is really nice, based on a an alluminium frame, it’s all in the finish. Voopoo have gone above and beyond in this regard with not only a special plating, but a finger-print and uv resistant coating over the entire device. There is also a panel insert on one side that has a special textured and reflective coating that mirrors the light with flashes of colour dancing around as you move the device around against a light source.

Getting down to the main features, you’ve got a pretty standard Pod recess at the top, airflow slider on the side, battery indicator in the form of a light shining through the “Gene” logo near the bottom, and a USB Type-C charging port underneath.

All of this in a very small form factor, easy to slip into the pocket. Very very portable.


The POD

The Pod for the Vinci, is of course made from a clear PCTG plastic, that is really easy to see your e-liquid level through, and is shock-proof and durable.

The Pod is disposable, and you cannot fit new coils to it unfortunately. I would have preferred replaceable coils, but that’s all part of the design, so you can’t fault them for that.

The coil provided in the Pod has a resistance of 0.8ohm a little bit lower than you’d get in most MTL setups, so you’re guaranteed a little more punch and a bunch more flavour to your vape!

It has an integrated duck-bill black drip tip, with a side fill port under a silicone plug, and what Voopoo are calling their ‘interlayer’, where e-liquid can seep down to and get pulled back up with an inhale, to limit any leaking that you might normally get with other pods.

They are friction fit pods, no magnets here, and they fit really snug, so there is zero chance of it flicking off in any way.

You only get one Pod in the box, which is a bit of a shame. Perhaps its selfish of me, but I believe manufacturers really need to put at least 2 Pods in the box considering that they are disposable. All it takes is to accidentally fire it without e-liquid and you’re stuck with a device and no way to use it.


Airflow

To my favourite feature, the airflow! Voopoo have put an airflow slider on the side of the device, allowing you to slide it up to close the airflow, and slide it down to open it up even more. It’s a great design and works really well. It’s something I wish many other companies would adopt, so that us vapers can really dial in our preferred airflow.

Remembering that this is primarily a Mouth to Lung device, the airflow range you’ll get out of it runs from a very very restricted MTL draw, right through to a more open, almost restricted DTL draw.


Battery

•

As mentioned earlier, there is a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the device for charging the 800mah internal battery. While only small, the battery lasts quite well considering that you’re only running at a maximum of 15 Watts, enough to get you through a full day. Charging takes about an hour.

Voopoo have given us a battery indicator right in the body of the device too, if you look closely, the “Gene” logo at the base, lights up as you draw to tell you how much battery you have left.

<20% = Red
20-60% = Blue
>60% = Green


Filling

• 

Filling the Vinci Pod is easy. Just unplug the silicone fill plug on the side of the pod and fill. It’s easy to fill completely, with no back pressure, and the hold provided is large enough to fit most bottle nozzles.


Any Leaks?
None. Not a single leak, nor any seepage from the bottom of the Pod.


Usage

• 

There isn’t a lot to do here, because the Vinci Pod is an auto-draw device, there are no buttons, (besides the airflow slider on the side). Just put it in your mouth and vape away!


Pros:

• Small size
• Really nice finish
• Easy to use

• Fantastic flavour and vape

• On tight airflow setting juice tends to get in the mouth
  

Conclusion
This is a pretty solid offering from Voopoo. They’ve done a lot of great things here, and I rate the Vinci Pod pretty highly. You’ll easily get a full day of vaping from the 800mah battery, and it’s a straight forward, easy to use device, even for those who are just starting out.
I can see it becoming popular for those who are looking for something to slide into their pocket for when they are out and about, which is exactly what I have been using it for over the last few weeks.

There aren’t any really serious issues with it, however I do notice that when the airflow is set quite tight, I get a little e-liquid in my mouth after a while, which I put down to excess wicking. You wouldn’t want to change this however as you’ll likely get dry hits when using it in a more open airflow mode.

I love the airflow adjustment on the side, it’s a great feature.

One thing that I’m beginning to appreciate even more doesn’t really affect the vape in any way, but that pulsing light in the “Gene” logo that tells you your battery level is excellent. It’s really clever, and a fantastic little design feature that shows Voopoo really do think alot about their design.

It’s the small things.
