Help me understand dual vs Single

Screenshot_20200830-090905_Facebook.jpg

So I only ever use single battery mechanical mods and I usually built around .3 for them because that's where I find it to be satisfying and where I feel confident. But could someone explain to me why anyone would want to use a dual battery series Mechs if it limits you even further in what you can build? I would have thought that using two batteries would take the strain off the battery not add more strain to the batteries if anything. Also I believe this chart is going off 4.2 which most people don't go off of that's like super safety mode most people go off 3.7. I'm never going to buy a dual battery series mechanical mod I have no interest it doesn't fit a need that I have but I just can't wrap my brain around how that works why a dual-battery becomes more risky somehow with your build and you have to build higher for it. Like I do occasionally use a mechanical mod and I know how to use the calculators and I know how to look up the ratings for mooch but I don't really understand the nitty-gritty of why dual battery would cause such a problem that you had to build higher.

Smok Nfix review

Hi,

My first ever SMOK product, I got the Smok Nfix pod kit for review. Its their newest pod device and an updated version of their earlier Infinix and Infinix 2.

Thank you @SMOK_Sophia for sending me this for review.

Specifications:

In the Box:

- Nfix Device
- 2x Nfix DC 0.8ohm mtl pod
- USB-C cable
- User manual
- Warranty card

Two pods are always a good start!

Review:

A nice small light weight pod weighing only 33 grams. In size comparable with the Vaporesso XROS or the Uwell Caliburn. Its metal built feels proper, not sure what metal it is, but probably zinc alloy or stainless steel. Edges are nicely rounded making it a nice hold. Its paint job is done well, and no fingerprints are visible on the device.

What makes this pod unique from others is that it has a screen and wattage adjustment. It’s a tiny screen, but to me its large enough to see what needs to be seen. Very nice to see battery capacity in % rather than with 3 level indicators. When outside it is a bit hard to see since the screen is not that bright, could have been brighter. There is no fire button, since this pod only supports draw-activation.

The one button on the device is only for turning on/off the device and adjusting the wattage. It is simple to adjust the wattage by clicking the button three times, the wattage starts blinking and then with that same button you can click to move the wattage up. At 25W it goes back to 1W. One pity thing is that the puff-counter resets whenever you take out the pod from the device, so the puff counter for many is kind of useless.

Pods connect with a magnetic connection and a click connection in the end, they sit very well inside the device, no wiggling. The side-fill is mess free with its large enough fill port, also there is no massive air bubbles being formed inside the pod making it an easy fill. Like that the pods are transparent, making it easy to see how much liquid there is left.

No coil replacement on these pods, it’s like with the Novo, you toss away the whole pod once it burns or does not perform anymore. For me not much of an issue if the price of the pods are similar to the price of coils, 3 pods cost about 12$ so it’s not bad.

Shape of the pod is comfortable and fits the device very well. Both pods in the kit are 0.8ohm MTL with an interesting dual parallel round wire coil. Nowhere on the packaging or in the manual I was able to find what wattage level this coil can be used for, maybe I am blind, but researching a bit these coils are to be vaped at between 15-25W, which sounds like a lot for MTL.

If its about the vape experience, its nice, but the airflow is maybe a bit too loose for me. It would have been better if they would have only had one airflow hole and not on both sides, putting a piece of tape on one side helps, but it’s not ideal. It does deliver very good flavor, and my sweet spot is at around 20w. It is an advantage for those that like a warmer vape they can go all the way up to 25w, you get a nice warm MTL at 20+W. Draw-activation reacts very well, no issues there at all.

Battery keeps up almost all day, of course depending on the wattage level you vape at. With the USB C it charges in about an hour.

Conclusion:

My first SMOK product and very satisfied with it. A nice portable pod that is comfortable to hold, light weight and has a proper battery and type charging.

It delivers nicotine well and the flavor is above average for such type of device.

This device is mainly for people that like a looser type of MTL draw. It would have been close to perfect if the device would have had airflow adjustment (like the XROS).

Thank you,

Steam Crave Ragnar RDTA review

Hello peeps,

Another Steamcrave Product, this time the Ragnar RDTA. It’s a new 35mm RDTA that is compatible with several different decks. The nice thing is that the decks fit for both the Ragnar and Aromamizer Plus V2, of which I did a review some time ago.

Steamcrave is known for producing large tanks, and this one is no exception.

Specifications:

In the box:

1* PLUS Mesh deck kit
1* PLUS Velocity Deck
1* Aromamizer Ragnar RDTA
1* 18ml glass
1* Chamber reducer
1* Spare part bag of O rings and grub screws, slotted screws
1* Allen Key
1* 25ml conversion chimney
2* 25ml glass
1* Vape Band
1* SteamCrave Sticker
1* Manual

I got the advanced kit, so it additionally included two large 25ml glass extensions, Mesh deck and velocity deck. Very richly packed box if you ask me.

Review:

As I am used from Steamcrave, this RDTA is well made with smooth threading. Obviously, it is large with its 35mm diameter, so getting a wide mod is quite a good thing. I got the Hadron 220W for review earlier and it’s a very nice match.

Taking this tank apart is simple, everything unscrews easily. Enlarging the tank with the 25ml glass and extender is a matter of seconds, just as transforming it into an RDA. Capacity of this tank is just insane with the extension glass, but even with the regular glass you have a 18ml capacity. Refill once per day or sometimes even once per two days.

I’ve been using this tank in as well in RDA mode on the Hadron 220 with the squonk backpack attached, a very nice combination, design and performance wise.

Under the top cap you will find two massive fill holes, big enough to pour liquid into it from a bottle without tip. It is very important with this tank to close down the juice flow control while filling, because if you don’t you will end up with major leaks from the airflow, that is probably due to air pressure.

Drip-tip is also exceptionally wide for me, but it is comfortable, and it fits the tank well.

Talking about the juice flow control, there is not much to say, it is a fantastic feature and, on this tank, even a necessity to not make a mess. Ring turns smoothly and the markings on the ring are clear.

So many airflow options this tank has, even many more than the Aromamizer Plus V2. I guess I don’t have to tell you that you can get A LOT of airflow on this tank. It is also possible to get a nice restricted airflow for those that like. Also, here the ring turns smoothly, but it would have been nice if it also would have had something to grab onto just like on the juice flow control.

Build deck is easily accessible by unscrewing the base of the tank. Default build deck that was installed is massive, much larger than the Aromamizer Plus v2, but steamcrave included a chamber reducer that falls right into place and makes the tank compatible with the included Mesh and Velocity Deck (the same ones as on the Aromamizer Plus v2. Really nice that Steamcrave invented this chamber reducer.

Overall, I find that the vape from this tank is quite the same as on the Aromamizer Plus V2, but I think the larger build deck with the large chamber is more interesting for those that are vaping at very high wattage levels. I generally do not vape above 90W.

It just vapes fantastically, delivering insanely large clouds and a lot of flavor. Below part I also covered in my earlier review of the Aromamizer Plus V2 going through the decks I tried on the Ragnar as well.

The Decks

Probably one of the main reasons I would buy this tank, you have 5 deck options! I own all apart from the single coil deck.

For all decks there is one rule to make them really perform, really comb out those ends of the cotton very well and do not stuff them into the wicking slot. The cotton needs to lay loose in the wicking slot so that the liquid can be easily sucked up from the bottom of the tank.

All decks (apart from mesh, has philips) have allen screw-heads which I like. From my experience allen screws do not get dull so easily as Philips or flathead screws. The tri-tool that comes with it has an OK allen key allowing to easily get the screws in or out.

Mesh deck:

It’s an easy deck as most mesh decks with its clamps. Just be sure to put enough cotton in, the strips that came with it were perfectly sized to pull through straight away.

This is the first mesh deck I have owned that does not have the spring-loaded ceramic ‘pusher’ under the coil. I was a bit worried I would get many dry hits because of cotton not being ‘pushed’ against the coil. Steam Crave did however add several holes on the bottom making sure it is saturated well. This is the first mesh deck that surprisingly did not give me even 1 (!!) dry hit, the cotton is so well saturated that it does not even give dry hits a chance. Maybe it is the way I wicked as well, but I just used the cotton strip that came with it, combed it out well and that’s it. The flavor on the mesh deck is outstanding, hard to say it is better than the other tanks I tried (Kylin M and Zeus X Mesh), because for me Mesh builds in general are flavor wise just great.

Still, I would say this is my favorite mesh-deck so far just for not having any dry hits and a very well dense saturated hit each time, even when chain vaping. Love it.

Postless decks (standard and series):

There is a total of three postless decks, 1 larger dual that is included with the Ragnar, and the series and regular dual, which only fit with the chamber reducer installed. The only difference with the series deck is that it multiplies the coil resistance in stead of dividing it by two. This is useful for some mods that do not allow low coil resistance builds.

I like postless decks mainly because they are easy to build on. The only thing that is important to know is the leg length of the coil to properly sit on the deck, in this case 5mm is perfect. Same as on all the decks, important to really comb out the cotton well and not stuff the wicking slot.

The dual deck included with the Ragnar is quite a bit larger and additionally has bottom honeycomb airflow. Flavor wise it is very similar to the dual deck on the Aromamizer Plus V2. The additional bottom airflow does help for higher wattage vaping to not get too warm hits.

The flavor on the postless decks is just top-notch. With the cotton being saturated well it just provides the flavor you would expect the juice tastes like. The further you get your coils out, the better the flavor gets.

Velocity deck

Flavor and performance wise very similar to the postless deck, the velocity deck however for me takes a bit longer to build and wick. The straight posts allow for a close cut of the coil legs.

The deck works well as the others, but I personally would not see the need to get this deck if you already have the postless and mesh deck, velocity seems a bit old-school and is a type of deck you don’t see much anymore.

Overall deck thoughts

Flavor and vaper production on all decks are just outstanding. Just having the option to switch between decks is a massive pro. Even with a tank full you can exchange the decks if you feel like changing your deck-style, simply close the Juice Flow Control, screw of the base, replace the deck and screw back the base. As simple as that. I for example have all decks laying around already prepared to be used, whenever I feel the deck, I am using needs a fresh wick I can just put in another deck.

The cotton is saturated very well (if wicked properly) and I did not experience any leaking issues on any of the decks.

Conclusion:

To me it is the same vape performance wise as the Aromamizer Plus V2, but this tank is just larger. It has more juice capacity and more airflow options.

Highly recommending this tank for those that are looking for a large versatile tank. Within seconds you go from RDTA to RDA and vice versa. And on a day you feel ‘Meshy’ you can just switch between decks. Cloud and flavor production on this tank are insane (in a positive way).

Again, a very nice experience with another Steamcrave product.

Thank you,

Sjoerd

E-Liquid vs Ultem

i've an RTA with a tank made partly of ultem. Some e-liquid flavorings are bad for some plastic tanks, according to info i've seen. Anyone know if that goes for ultem? Would a cinnamon liquid, for example, which is bad for some tanks/pods/clearos, be a problem in a tank made from ultem?

Thanks for any info.

Is the PMTA as scary as many think it is?

Sure I signed the petition for the PMTA extension and hope the industry gets it.

But even if worse came to worse would it be a total shut down of the indusrty as some think?

I don't think so and here's why:
Government is losing billions on the economic recession caused by Covid19 - Vaping is a moderately large industry, though probably much smaller than big tobacco, some big tobacco companies are also in it.

Do you really think that in these hard times even the worst of the government control freaks wants turn off a multi million dollar tax base?
I don't think so - Driving .................. will cost millions and will generate a new underground market - And that would be bad for all.

So sign the extension petition anyway if you haven't yet done so; but Stock up before Sep. 9 just in case - Some items like 'bubble gum flavored juice' is sure to be on priority hit list - some flavors and types of devices that they find too dangerous {????} may suddenly become scarce.

PMTA enforcement..

Ok so let’s say it’s Thursday morning September 10, 2020. What type of enforcement do you think we will see across the country to our local vape shops and online retailers? Will there be vehicles with FDA printed on the side speed into their parking lots ,screeching their breaks, and men in black suits running into them with large trash bags shoving products in them?

Well I know it won’t be that extreme. I’m just curious how it will all be enforced. Will the shop owners who have no idea what pmta is still operate until the fda sends them a letter to stop? How do you guys think the enforcement part of things will play out?

T-Priv not working

I have a newfound problem with my chrome T-Priv. I’ve had it for ~2yr now and it’s always been rock solid until today. The batteries died so I turned it off and plugged it in to charge. I then unplugged the charger and turned it on. Now, the box keeps flashing the SMOK title screen and won’t do anything else. I have taken the batteries out and flipped them around. I’m not sure what to do. Has anyone else had this problem?

35% Off and Free Shipping!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

A Citizen’s Petition has been filed with the FDA requesting that the agency seek a 180-day extension to the PMTA deadline for certain small, open-system manufacturers. The request is narrowly limited to companies that are already in the process of submitting a PMTA and are compliant with other FDA deadlines for regulating vapor products.
PLEASE, take a moment and help us by signing the citizen's petition. The longer we have to submit the more time it gives the FDA to come up with a streamlined and affordable process for small vapor businesses to submit their PMTA's.

All you have to do us go to the CASAA website:
National – FDA Citizen’s Petition – PMTA Delay - CASAA

It only take a minute to fill out and submit. As a thank you for helping us we are going to offer a 35% off and free shipping discount code which will be good until Sunday, August 30th at midnight PST. Brunhilde MTL Filling Problems

I am now the proud owner of a Brunhilde. Beautiful tank. Well made and solid, easy to assemble, and wick. I filled up the tank. Great tasting vape.

I'm going along loving the Brunhilde. It was time to fill up the tank again.

Holy crow, what a mess! I could not fill up the tank with a standard bottle top. I switched to a needle bottle. Same problem. Juice everywhere and a mess. The juice will not go into the tank.

Yes, I am using the fill hole with the 3 little drops beneath it.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a known problem with the Brunhilde?

Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What Are The Selling Points Of Oumier Wasp Nano S RDA?

Hey guys. Have you ever used the Wasp RDAs by Oumier? This time I'm gonna introduce their Wasp Nano S RDA which is the latest addition to the growing Wasp line. Here we go!

Available in black, gold, stainless steel, and blue, the Oumier Wasp Nano S RDA shares the same minimalist design as its predecessor – the Wasp Nano. This makes the appearance finely crafted due to high-quality stainless steel and it is also only half the height of an ordinary RDA, making it tiny. While the previous RDA only had a deck that was compatible with single coil configurations, the new Wasp Nano S RDA works with dual coil builds.
2a23f970-7ca5-4662-901e-d3646155176e.png

Moreover, the deck's design is simple thanks to raised posts that permit easy trimming of the cotton and coils. Airflow to the deck consists of two big external air holes on the chuff cap that direct air upward to your build with a huge range of adjustment possibilities. This means you may close it all the way for an MTL experience or set it to wide open DTL airflow. Finally, the spacious juice well underneath the Wasp Nano S RDA's deck can hold 5mL of e-juice for leakproof, convenient dripping.

Oumier WASP Nano S RDA - is it still a mutated wasp shape?

Hi, friends, nice weekend! Today, I have prepared several injectors for you, they are all in good working condition, I will consider it as a special good news. You might have guessed that we are talking about the legendary Wasp Nano. However, now the insects have matured and acquired a "second pair of wings", let we see WASP Nano S RDA.
oumier_wasp_nano_s_rda_colors.jpg

Features
Body material: stainless steel Atomizer type: RDA Bath
Depth: 5mm
Diameter: 25mm
Height: 30mm with drip type

Connector: 510, pin gold platedThey did not fundamentally change the appearance and did it correctly. It is this design that makes the Hornets evocative even at a distance. At the time, Oumier WASP Nano S RDA vape was almost an innovation, but it seems that it has not lost its charm until now.
oumier_wasp_nano_s_rda_gold.jpg

And here is the first change - a removable drip tip with an 810th landing. However, I bet that picking something of your own here will be extremely problematic - the appearance will no longer be the same. The dome is probably still plastic. At least there was no "chatter" about glass from the developers. He is responsible for adjusting the side airflow. There are two pairs of rather large holes on the sidewall, they overlap at the same time. If you like this new RDA, you can click here in best online shop: Oumier Wasp Nano S Dual-Coil RDA 25mm
