AEGIS BOOST PRO " LIMITED EDITION " + RDTA REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello again and welcome back for todays review of the new Boost Pro and RDTA from Geekvape. The Aegis Pro is the newest edition of the ever popular Boost series of Pod Mods that has some big changes from it's predecessors with one being able to reach 100w which is a big jump from it's siblings. It still operates on a single 18650 battery though a 21700 would have been much appreciated but still there enough power to operate with the new more powerful P-series of coils. Not only has the Pro been updated in the wattage department but also in the Pod capacity now giving us 6ml. There are other changes and updating that's been done that I will cover later in the review but first let's have a look at the new Aegis Boost Pro .

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Well folks I have one word to describe my first impression after removing it from the shipping box and that word is WOW. I have to give a very big thank you to Elliott and Geekvape for sending the beautiful case and all of the components that were included.

20201118_125037.jpg

Included in the case is your box that comes with the Boost Pro including the charge cable, coil assist tool, user manual, warranty card, extra drip tip, P-series 0.4Ω coil. The P-series 0.2Ω coil is pre-installed in the pod. Also in the case next to the box is the RDTA Pod on top that can also be used with the Boost Plus as well as the 510 adapter plate sitting underneath it. Moving down to the other section of the case is the Aegis Boost Pro on the left and next to it is the new Boost Pro Pod with the Pod for the Boost Plus that also works with the Boost Pro device underneath it. Next to both Pods are the Coils with the 2 top being the new P-Series coils with a B-Series Coil that is 0.3Ω followed by a G-Series Coil 0.4Ω and finally a G-Series Coil 0.6Ω. And if if that wasn't enough under the main case laid a pair of keys to keep the case locked up if you choose to.

20201127_093753.jpg

BOOST PRO 4ml RDTA POD

Starting off with the RDTA Pod first. the deck is of a 2 post post design that uses flat head screws to capture the coil legs, this is a single coil RDTA with a single airflow hole in the center of the deck that feeds most of the air supplied to the coil with a wick hole on either side. The fill port is exactly the same as the P and G Coil Pods. After opening to fill you can rotate the fill plug out of the way making filling easier. Your other air supplier comes from the 810 top cap that has a series of 8 holes on either side giving you a total of 16 holes on the top cap that are adjusted by turning the knurled top portion of the top cap. The airholes can be adjusted horizontally or vertically. The Pod is not clear but has light tinting. This RDTA is a air factory mainly because you have no airflow adjustment of the main air supply and as you can see in my photo it's rather large. I found that only 1 hole is needed to be open on the top cap for a good RDL vape. This RDTA pod is super easy to build on and produces good flavor, I just wish there was a adjustment for the main airflow.

20201128_074153.jpg

20201128_120245.jpg

THE 510 ADAPTOR PLATE

The 510 adaptor plate that was included in the case gives you the ability to use any tank that has a male 510 connection on it with both the Boost Pro or the Boost Plus and works great. the connection to the pod clicks into place and is sturdy as well as solid. I've already reviewed the 510 adaptor when I reviewed the Zeus Nano Tank so I wont go into detail on it here but I'll leave a link to the review I did earlier with the Zeus Nano Tank.

ZEUS NANO TANK FEATURING ( 510 ADAPTER ) FOR BOOST PLUS REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

THE P-SERIES POD

The Boost Pro comes with a new Pod also that has a 6ml capacity and a larger coil opening to accommodate the new larger P-Coils. As with the RDTA the fill port has a very large opening with plenty of air allowed to escape when filling preventing a mess that sometimes came with the original Boost. This Pod uses a 810 styled drip tip as the RDTA does and is very comfortable but unlike the RDTA's ability to use any 810 Goon styled drip tip this Pod only allows you to use 810 drip tips with the O-rings on them but I think you will find the one supplied to be just fine. Unlike the RDTA Pod that has no adjustment of the main airflow selector the P-series Pod does have a fully adjustable airflow and it works very well with no whistle or funny noise at any adjustment selection. You will also notice that the top portion of the circular airflow is now used instead of the bottom portion that was used on the Boost Plus, I don't know if it because of the new position or more airflow but it seems that my vape is somewhat smoother using the new Pod with the new airflow position. It seems that Geekvape wanted to make something that would satisfy almost all types of vapers from the big air lovers to the very RDL vaper and everywhere in between and I think they accomplished that goal , I mean I only use 1/8 of the airflow open and get a very nice DL vape so you can imagine just how airy this new pod and coils can be.

20201128_080855.jpg

NEW P-SERIES COILS

We now come to the new P-Series coils and I have to tell you that as much as I really like the older Coils of the Boost Plus these new Coils just seem more flavorful to me. Both vape very well with very good flavor but my preference is the 0.2Ω simply for the added warmth, both coils also produce plenty of vapor to please anyone IMO. Both are mesh with the 0.2Ω having a more thicker volume to it's mass netting of wire. In my photo below the 0.2Ω coil is featured on the left with the 0.4 resting on the right.

P-SERIES COILS 0.2Ω ( 60-70W ) ON THE LEFT  0.4Ω ( 50-60W ) ON THE RIGHT.jpg

The older Pod and coils that came in the case have been covered before in my previous reviews so I won't be covering them in todays review but I will leave a link for the Boost Plus where the previous Pod and coils were reviewed.

GEEKVAPE AEGIS BOOST PLUS REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

THE BOOST PRO DEVICE

Now we come to the main attraction of the review for most people, the device itself standing next to the Boost Plus looks exactly like the Plus but it's just a tad bit larger and deeper where the Pod connects to the device. The new Boost Pro has a new user interface that gives the Boost pro it's new look on the display screen even though all the information on remains the same as the Boost Plus just laid out differently.

The Boost Plus gave us 3 colors to use on the display screen but with the new interface we now have a total of 5 colors to choose from and they are blue, green, magenta, orange and yellow in that order on the menu. Although I really like the new look of the display one item should have been made larger especially for people with not that great of eyesight and it's the battery meter bar that sits in the upper right corner of the display.

20201128_103019.jpg

The display is very sharp and defined with the color choices being crisp as well . As I said earlier this is a device that has a maximum wattage of 100w and uses a single 18650 battery to run the device which has me wondering why they made this a 100w device because you will not be able to vape any build at 100w on a single 18650 battery fed device.

The Boost Pro scrolls in .5 watt increments and does so very quickly and also has the round robin feature. Buttons on the Boost Pro are great with the fire button being very clicky and the up and down buttons being also clicky just not as pronounced.

As I mentioned earlier this is a single 18650 device that just like the Boost Plus has a battery cover that unscrews and is located at the very bottom of the device. Battery polarity is clearly marked with a positive red X inside the device and a minus sign on the inside of the battery compartment cover.

Geekvape did change the interface but kept the same menu that was used in the Boost Plus and it's a easy one to remember, I'll cover it again below.

MENU

* ON/OFF IS 5 PRESSES OF THE FIRE BUTTON

* TO LOCK THE WATTAGE BUTTONS PRESS AND HOLD + AND - BUTTONS SIMULTANEOUSLY

* TO UNLOCK THE WATTAGE BUTTONS PRESS AND HOLD + AND - BUTTONS SIMULTANEOUSLY

* TO LOCK THE ENTIRE DEVICE PRESS THE FIRE BUTTON 3 TIMES QUICKLY WHILE WATTAGE IS LOCKED - TO UNLOCK PRESS THE FIRE BUTTON 3 TIMES QUICKLY

* TO ENTER THE MENU PRESS THE FIRE BUTTON 3 TIMES QUICKLY
ONCE YOUR IN THE MENU THE MODE YOUR IN WILL HIGHLIGHT THEN USE THE + OR - BUTTONS TO MOVE TO WHAT YOU WANT TO BE IN, ONCE THERE PRESS THE FIRE BUTTON TO OPEN FURTHER CHOICES WITHIN YOUR SELECTION THAT CAN BE ACCESSED USING THE + OR - BUTTONS, WHEN FINISHED PRESS AND HOLD THE FIRE BUTTON.

* MENU CHOICES - POWER, TC-SS, TC-TCR, VPC, BYPASS

* DISPLAY COLOR CHANGE - PRESS THE FIRE BUTTON 3 TIMES QUICKLY THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE + AND - BUTTONS TO CHANGE COLORS

* INCREASE BRIGHTNESS - PRESS POWER AND + BUTTON SIMULTANEOUSLY

* DECREASE BRIGHTNESS - PRESS POWER AND - BUTTON SIMULTANEOUSLY

PROS
*Attractive
* Replaceable 18650
* 5 Color Display
* Great Flavor
* Type-C
* 2 Amp Charging
* IP 67 Rated
* Bright

CONS
* Small Battery Meter Bar
* RDTA Very Airy

WISHES
* 21700

FINAL IMPRESSIONS

Well folks my final impressions on the Boost Pro are very good because of the new P-Series Coils being so flavorful and the new interface was a nice update to a already great device that carries the Aegis name, meaning it's built to take abuse and still chug along without missing a beat. The device has functioned without any problems of any kind in the 8 or so days I've been using it.

I really wish Geekvape had made this a 21700 because if you use it as your only device during your work day you will need to swap out the battery for a fresh one, it will not make it though the whole day on 1 battery and I vape 4 sec vapes unless flavor is popping then it's usually 5-6 sec vapes so that might be a factor. I get about 157 vapes per battery running it at 58-60w with plenty of flavor at those wattages.

You may be asking yourself if you own the Boost Plus should I upgrade to the Boost Pro with the larger Pod capacity and more powerful coils, only you can answer that but if you been wanting a punch of more power with plenty of flavor the Boost Pro will do the job and if you own the 510 adapter plate already it fits the Boost Pro also. Also it's a great lookin device.

20201128_083841.jpg

I would like to thank Elliott and Geekvape for providing this wonderful assortment including the case as well as the star of the show the Aegis Boost Plus. I hope this review helped anyone looking to purchase the Aegis Boost Pro.

THANK YOU

Mesh vs Coil

Hi I've been in the vaping industry for years now and have had many tanks over the years both mesh and normal coil, for me mesh was amazing at flavour and for more cooler vape lovers, however I found that normal coils provided more cloud and less juice consumption with some tanks and were able to achieve the same amount of flavour as mesh with the right build. But I still curious as too how many people prefer mesh over normal coils and vice versa and why ?

VAPORESSO FORZ RDA REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello folks and welcome back for todays review of the Forz RDA from Vaporreso. As many of you know Vaporesso recently released the Forz mod that also came in a kit form with the Forz tank 25, well they also have a Forz RDA that can be used as a single or dual coil that is also a squonk capable RDA .

BREAKDOWN

EASY TO BUILD

forz-rda-deck.jpg

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

As Vaporesso always does opening the package put a smile on my face because of the way they always go the extra mile when it comes to presentation of a product, it might not seem important to some but to me that's where the excitement begins with any new product. On one side is the Forz RDA and the other side has a emblem of the Forz that when lifted reveals everything that is supplied for the RDA.

20201116_133951.jpg

The Forz is a 4 piece RDA including the drip tip that consists of the build deck, barrel chamber, top cap with your airflow selections of 2 slotted or 2 honeycombed styles and the drip tip of which 2 are supplied.

20201125_134752.jpg

Starting with the build deck I noticed the familiar look of the Dead Rabbit V2 with the raised up post, the deck base has 2 cutouts that aid in airflow centering for any airflow choice you make. The barrel chamber has a nub inside that sits inside the deck cutouts giving you that wiggle room to center your coil that I mentioned earlier. The top cap has knurling at the top to help in turning when making your airflow selection of either slotted or honeycombed airflow that can be used fully open or tailored to your choice. The low profile drip tip that comes pre-installed has a strip of chrome at it's base with Vaporesso embossed on it.

20201116_131853.jpg

The coils that were supplied are what I used for this review but have no idea what material the coils are because that information was not supplied. I cut the coil legs using the coily tool at 4mm. The screws are flathead and work just fine. After dry burning the coils the build of the 2 supplied coils came out to 0.18Ω.

20201127_121304.jpg

Wicking is straight forward and also easy, I left the wicks a bit on the longer side because of the depth of the wells ( nice and deep ).

20201127_123809.jpg

After juicing everything up I put the top cap on and tried the honeycombed airflow fully opened and found it to be a smooth restricted DL vape with good flavor and ample clouds, I found it borderline too restricted and that was fully opened . The honeycombed holes point downward and consists of 13 holes on each side of the top cap.

20201127_131009.jpg

Next up to try was the open slots, fully open you can breath through it, way to much air for me so I started closing it down a little at a time getting a bit of a echo sound until only 1/4 of the slot was open and that was my sweet spot luckily. It's funny but even fully open and every adjustment spot on the open slot gave me better flavor than the honeycombed holes.

20201127_132044.jpg

I chose to use the Forz RDA in dripping mode on the Forz mod because the wells are nice and deep giving me very many vapes before the need to re drip was needed. You could choose to use this in single coil mode if you wanted but I don't think it's a viable option because of the big air this RDA produces in the slot airflow but you could try it but use a very large coil if you do, I'll stick to dual coils personally. If you own a squonk device the Forz has that covered having a squonk pin supplied with all the extras of o-rings, screws, and 510 drip tip adapter as well as another larger 810 drip tip shown in this picture

20201123_141619.jpg

FINAL THOUGHTS

All and all I have enjoyed the Forz RDA because of it having very good flavor and deep juice wells along with great looks. Some people really dislike branding of any kind but the Forz RDA has only the trademark emblem on the barrel and a very small embossed marking on the chrome strip of the low profile Drip tip that you have to look for or you will miss it. Building and wicking is very easy which adds to it's appeal and having only the black or silver color choice means it will match up with almost any color device of your choosing.

20201127_134636.jpg

20201127_135909.jpg

So in closing I will recommend the Forz RDA because of all the points I mentioned above.

I would like to thank Jasmine and Vaporesso for providing the Forz RDA for review and also hope this review helped anyone looking to purchase the Forz RDA.

THANK YOU

Going to dive in

Hello All, I am going to try mixing vanilla custard juice. My problem is there is a lot of recipes to choose from. Would someone care to share a list of all the must have flavors that I would need for my first order. Large or small list is fine . I know a lot of people love vanilla custard juice with different side notes and I would like to get those flavors also. I would like to find a good vanilla custard base and work from there. If this is too much of a request I apologize in advance. I just need to jump in and get the flavors that are recommended and have them on hand to start mixing myself. I have so much store bought juice that just sucks and I can't keep buying premade juice. Thanks for your time.

Vapefly Manners Pod Kit 650mAh - Review

Hi, ECF members, In this review i take a look at the Manners Pod Kit 650mAh from Vapefly. The Manners Pod Kit was supplied for the purpose of this review by Alex from Vapefly.

Manners Pod

Introduction

It seems like Vapefly have been around forever with having such a strong portfolio of quality atomizers which have given them a favourable reputation but they are still in their infancy being formed in 2017 and getting better all the time.

With the all singing all dancing Pod Mods that are still flooding the market the Manners goes back to an Old School simple pod system design for a high nic stealth vape and a device also ideal for the new vaper trying to quit the stinkies.

The Manners is a small pocket friendly device which houses refillable pods with fixed coil heads and leak resistant design. The device can be fired via either draw activation or by pressing the fire button while giving three tier battery status indication. With it's 650mAh internal battery and coming in a choice of 6 colour options let's check this stylishly designed pod device out!

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The name i assume comes from Gentlemen have manners and this stylish pod system wouldn't look out of place poking out of a suit top pocket but quite rightfully i can hear the feminist outcry as this would look the part within a stylish handbag also, mind mentioning women and handbags in the same sentence might have me lynched by the very same!

It comes packaged in a cardboard box with outer cardboard sleeve with everything within one level in separate compartments, the presentation is very good! I received the Black version, it comes in Black, Deep Red, Blue, Dark Green, Gray or Purple, so a colour to suit most.

One edge is very rounded while the opposite edge has an indented channel which within is a protruding pill shaped button, on both edges towards the top we have a small hole which is for air to enter the pod bay. The Pod meets the device at an angle leaving an angled viewing band with extended vertical viewing slots both front and back. The mouthpiece is inclined which is very stylish and also ergonomic between the lips.

On the front of the device we have an LED for battery status indications and protection alerts then moving to the slanted base we have a type C USB port. We do have a small amount of branding and simple lined design but it's classy looking and the form factor is both extremely stylish and very ergonomic, with it's Aluminium construction it's also very lightweight!

Leather Case & Lanyard

Available separately is a rather nice Leather case with Roped Lanyard in the choice of 3 colours. The device gets fitted with the mouthpiece protruding outside the case and there is a small cut-out which lines up with the indicator light so you can both vape using auto draw while also checking battery status with the device inside the case!

The Pods

You receive 2 different pods both of which have a 2ml capacity and are refillable but each has a different resistant coil head pre-installed which can't be replaced so once the flavour has dropped off past what you personally find acceptable the whole pod needs replacing.

The pod is clear with large Black mouthpiece which has a particularly ergonomic inclined form factor and narrow bore, it especially feels comfortable using the device out of the side of the mouth. The mouthpiece bore comes with a plug fitted which can be tossed or some might want to re-plug the mouthpiece when not in use for hygiene purposes.

On both front and back of the pod we have a protruding vertical rail which slides into the cut-outs of the device when inserting to form viewing windows, we also have an angled viewing band where the pod meets the device and the combination of both i find give good enough visibility of your juice level there is no need to remove the pod to check! Moving to the base we have the central opening which leads to the membrane switch, the 1.4ohm pod has a micro honeycomb filter for even smoother airflow. Either side of the air opening we have the contacts and then to the outside of the contacts we have a magnet each side.

On one edge of the pod we have a Black silicone bung which has an arrow head showing where to lift, once lifted the flap can be rotated to give clear access to the fill port. You need to fill keeping the pod in an horizontal position and although a mess free fill can be done you do need to fill quite slowly else it will be messy, would much prefer top-fill!

___________________________________________________________________

The Coils

I know some are under the impression only the 1.0ohm pod has a Mesh coil as it states mesh on the website and doesn't with the the 1.4ohm pod. The pod is a sealed unit so i can't be 100% but i'm pretty sure both pods have a mesh coil installed. This is based on 3 things, the first being just how similar the flavour is from both pods, the second the pods are labelled as M1-1.4ohm and M2-1.0ohm and finally it's the 1.4ohm coil which is pictured on the site showing the micro honeycomb airflow that only this pod has and it quite clearly is showing a mesh coil.

As mentioned the coil heads are sealed within the pod so the whole pod needs replacing rather than just the coil and the 1.4ohm has a honeycomb airflow structure while the 1.0ohm coil is more standard in it's design!

___________________________________________________________________

Fitting The Pod

Looking inside the pod bay we can clearly see the membrane switch opening and central Gold plated, spring loaded contacts, we then have a magnet to each side. We can also see a cut-out each side which along with protruding sections on the pod will form viewing windows for your e-liquid. When fitted the pod fits securely with a little bit of play when giving it a wiggle with your fingers but not to the degree where during vaping any movement will be detected, nice neat job!

___________________________________________________________________

Operating The Device

The Manners pod device is a simple direct output device which gives the option to use with either draw activation or via the physical fire button. When first attaching the pod the device vibrates and the LED flashes Blue and when removing we get a Red flash of the LED.

The device turns on and off with 5 quick presses of the fire button, either action is confirmed by 5 flashes from the LED which will be in the colour of the current battery status. Once on simply take a draw or use the fire button to fire and that's it! We do have battery status indication which is only 3 tiers but nicely spread out as the following:

Above 70% = Green
30% to 70% = Blue
Below 30% = Red

The Manners also has all the usual safety protections and the LED gives various flashes to give alerts if one kicks in!

Short Circuit Protection
Low Voltage Protection
Overheat Protection
Over Discharge Protection

Charging

Great to see a simple device still coming with Type C USB and it does have a 1A max charge rate although it took about 1hour 10mins each time i charged so can barely be charging much over 0.5A in reality, it does support pass-through but the ridiculously short cable barely makes this possible!

___________________________________________________________________

How It Vapes? And Thoughts!

The Manners has some very good things about it but also from my own experience is far from perfect. I do like the looks, it is a "Posh Pod", it's light and portable, very ergonomic and the mouthpiece is one of the most comfortable i have used.

Both pods give fantastic flavour easily being a match for the original Caliburn and both are so similar in this regard but the 1.4ohm pod is a looser MTL but noticeably smooth. The 1.0ohm pod gives a slightly more tighter draw and is warmer but pretty much identical when it comes to flavour, this gives a medium to loose MTL, not tight but this is definitely restrictive enough to be classed as a MTL device. I haven't overused the device but both pods have had several fills and the flavour is still all there so no issues with longevity!

For me not being able to replace coils is a con but the good thing with fixed coil pods is they tend to be much more leak resistant and although i admit this has had quite light use it has been used this way for nearly 4 weeks and both the pod bay and underneath the pods have remained bone dry!

Other little things that bug me is needing to remove the pod to fill and it needs to be done quite slowly, also although this is such an ergonomic form factor i don't find the side button more ergonomic as claimed. Being right handed it's not too bad firing with the thumb but then i can't see the LED and to fire with a finger so the LED is facing me so i can check status means bending the wrist and it just feels awkward! Of course you can check the status just with a quick click of the fire button but beware this fires out the gate so it will fire when checking!

Both with auto draw and with the fire button the device fires instantly with impressive ramp up which is even more impressive relative to the Auto draw but it's the Auto Draw that's my biggest con. It does fire out the gate with super ramp up but after about a second it starts cutting out (i was actually sent two devices and it's the same with both). To get any lengthy uninterrupted draw using Auto Draw i need to really suck hard and i want a relaxed vape not one where i have to suck the living daylights out of the device giving myself jaw ache to get a decent lengthy draw, for this reason i have settled on just using the device with the fire button!

Although this is direct output device, drop off is so gradual with such high resistant coils it's barely noticeable and i noticed none at all with the 1.4ohm coil as it's so gradual and slight. The 650mAh battery sounds not much but again with such high resistant coils although i am not going to pretend life is fantastic the device lasts a lot longer than you would think. My final con is that if a device charges slightly over 0.5A manufacturers claim 1A but this is misleading as this is only 650mAh yet takes comfortable over an hour to charge, it does support pass-through but not fit for purpose with the length of the supplied cable!

Ergonomic form factor
Very comfortable mouthpiece
Lightweight, portable
6 colour options
Auto or button draw
Clear pods
Pods come with dust protection plug
Can see e-liquid level without removing pod
Had Zero leaking
Fires out the gate with impressive ramp up
Auto draw fires instantly with the same ramp up (but did have issues see cons)
1.0ohm pod, warm vape, very good favour and smooth-medium to loose MTL
1.4ohm pod, slightly cooler but very smooth, matches flavour- looser MTL
Fit for purpose battery status indication
Device can be turned off

Cons

Auto draw cuts out unless sucking very hard
Can't see LED when firing with button in right hand unless turning and firing with finger which feels awkward
Airflow non-adjustable
Need to replace whole pod rather than just coil
Need to remove pod to fill, filling takes time to be mess free
Charging is barely over 0.5A and takes comfortably over an hour
Ridiculously short cable
Direct output (drop off minimal)

Hiya,

Today I have the newest Aegis in the Boost line, the Aegis Boost Pro. It is the 4th product in the boost line which I like quite a bit.

I received a special reviewer edition case that also includes all coils, the new pod, RDTA pod and adapter. Will cover all of this in my review.

Thank you @Geekvape_Official for being so generous!

Packaging:

Since I received the reviewer edition that includes all, I will be mentioning the commercial packaging contents below, unfortunately the adapter and RDTA are still being sold seperatly, it would have been cool if Geekvape released a kit that includes all so that customers don’t have to get tired searching for the add-ons. Also a pity that in the commercial packaging you only get one pod, the one for the new larger coils, would have been nice if they included both pods, also the one compatible with the earlier boost coils.

Review:

You might think; that is not a new Boost, that is the Boost Plus! And I actually thought that when first seeing the device, it looks EXACTLY like the Boost Plus and also has exactly the same size, but there is one massive difference, something that needed improvement I kind of asked about every single Boost review, it fires up to an impressive 100W! That is a massive improvement, especially compared to the Boost Plus which was limited to 40W. Another important difference is that the Pro is the first Boost with USB-C, allowing for faster charging, and a new UI has been integrated into the device.

Its an Aegis, what can I say about it, it just like always looks fantastic, feels fantastic and is extremely durability. Even though more producers start to make IP67 rated devices, Aegis still stays Aegis with its unique looking style, love it. Fire-button is very nice sticking out a bit and the Up and Down button feel proper and click well.

Battery-door unscrews smoothly, for me. It does need some force the first part of the turn, but that’s a good thing. Replaceable 18650, nothing to complain about that really, of course 21700 would have been nice, but that would have made the device also quite a bit larger.

When turning on the device you straight away see the difference, the UI is totally new for an Aegis, just the intro with the Geekvape writing changing colors already is new. I really like the simple looks of this UI, I just wish the battery icon was a bit bigger, maybe even stretched in bars over the whole top bar of the screen. Nice add-on is that you can switch the UI between 6 different colors. It works the same as any Aegis really;

· 5 Clicks on fire-button on/off
· 3 Click while turned on on the fire-button to allow for changing modes and then Up and Down to scroll through them
· Fire-button + down to lower screen brightness and Fire-button + up to increase brightness
· Hold up and down for about 2 seconds to lock/unlock the device, can still fire while locked
· While device is locked, click 3 times fire-button to lock/unlock firing
· While in mode change (3x click) hold up and down to change UI color

It has the same options as the Boost Plus, wattage, TC-SS, TC-TCR, VPC and Bypass mode. More than enough for me for a pod-mod, more than average as well.

All three pods (RDTA, B coil Pod, P coil Pod) are cross-compatible with the Boost Plus, so this RDTA and new pod basically are a release for both the Pro and Plus. The new drop-in coil P series pod is a bit larger than the regular pod, but the coils it takes are also much larger. Capacity of 6ml on the new pod is plenty. Yes, there is three new drop-in coils (Finally!) released with the Pro, will get more into coils later. All pods have a comfortable top-fil and are transparent enough to see your liquid level while the pod is being installed on the device.

Let’s focus a bit on the RDTA now, the star of the show in my opinion. Fits exactly on the device, maybe even feeling a bit to tight when installing it, but it stays in place very well. It is a very simple to build on RDTA with its two posts, unfortunately limiting it to a single coil build. Best ID is either 3mm or 3.5mm, I like 3.5mm because it’s a warmer vape and you can push a bit higher. If it’s about wicking, I find it best to not stuff the wicking ports with cotton, but instead to keep the cotton short and just kind of lay it on top of the wicking ports, this way the cotton is saturated all the way, no issues with dry hits.

Top-cap consists of three parts, the chamber, the airflow cap and the drip-tip, basically an RDA on top of a tank. The entire top-cap fits onto the tank only one way as there is one tiny carved in piece that locks into place with the tank, simply turn till it locks into place. At the very top of the top-cap is the airflow ring which has been ridged to make it easy to hold on to. A very nice thought of airflow where you can choose to only close the top row air-inlets or a combination of both.

One thing I think Geekvape made a mistake with is the fact that the airflow ring on the pods side is not turnable/adjustable. Even with the RDTA Cap entirely closed there is still quite a lot of airflow, maybe a bit too much for a single coil build. Conclusion, there is too much airflow for me on this RDTA, the airflow on this thing is more for a dual coil build. When I block the airflow ring on the pod with my finger, I feel it could even be an MTL RDTA if the ring would be adjustable. Most airflow is exactly coming from the ring on the pod rather than from the inlets on the chamber. I found that the best way using this airflow is either to close the airflow on the RDTA cap or to put a piece of tape on the airflow ring on the pod.

Keep in mind that I received a sample case, and not the commercial packaging. I hope Geekvape will include some rubber gaskets to adjust the pods airflow ring. If you are planning to vape 50W+ on the RDTA then the airflow seems to be just fine, but it might get hard trying to get restricted lung-hits at 30-40 watts. You can always get creative and block the airflow ring with tape or other material, but it would be so nice if that won’t be necessary.

Even though there is much airflow, this RDTA does provide really a lot of flavor. The coil is so close to the mouthpiece and the chamber is tiny that I could already guess it would deliver this outstanding flavor. For me the drip-tip is maybe a tiny bit too low, I have quite big lips and touching a hot chamber with your lips is not very pleasant. I have a feeling it is exactly the same drip-tip as included as a spare on the Zeus X kit. Good news is that any 810’s will fit just fine as there is an O-ring built-in the top-cap for proper fitting.

Now the new larger pod and coils, these two coils they look very similar to the Zeus SubOhm coils and they also vape very similar. Very crisp and dense flavorful hits I am getting from both coils. The 0.4 ohm (50-60W) just delivers a bit less vapor than the 0.3ohm (60-70W), but for the rest they are very similar. The airflow allows for a very restricted draw, or a very loose one, whichever you like. For me fully open is a bit too airy, I like it closed halfway. Really nice coils, especially for a pod-mod. Very happy that Geekvape finally came up with more options on their pod-mods.

Downside of these coils is battery life, especially when vaping at 70W your 18650 will not make it through a full day, but you can always have many 18650 charged and ready to be used. You can only really use the drip-tips that are delivered with it, or 810 drip-tips that have an O-ring. 810 drip-tips without O-rings are too loose inside there and simply cannot be used.

I said in the beginning that there are 3 new coils, and yes, there is also one tinier ‘B-coil’ that has the same size as the already well-known boost coils that are compatible with all Boosts now. Also, here they took the right direction to create a coil that covers 33-38W, meaning that is covers almost the full power-output on the Boost and Boost Plus. So, if you own the boost or boost plus, and you were looking for that higher power output, it is here now. Even though it is rated up to 38W, it works just fine at 40W as well.

Just like the previous B-coils, this one provides good dense flavor and performs very well. From my experience with B-Coils they are also having a very proper longevity ranging from 2-3 weeks with no issues. I overall really like Geekvape mesh coils, never had a bad experience with them, they always perform.

The adapter basically turns this into an Aegis Solo, as the specs are quite similar, both fire up to 100W and have the same operation and options. Zeus X fits very nicely on top of the device with the adapter installed, there is a very minimal overhang, like one mm. 24mm is the exact diameter tank that would sit flush on this, 25mm has a very minimal overhang.

Conclusion:

Very happy with this Boost Pro, by far the best Boost in the entire Boost product line. It does what the others missed; fire up higher than 40W. All in all, the Boost Pro from now on is my favorite pod-mod, and here is why; external 18650, fires up to 100w, has a great RDTA, has two pod options with different coil lines, its an Aegis that looks stunning, IP67 certified, versatile being able to choose between 3 pods and adapter changes it into an Aegis Solo, and it just vapes great.

Even tough I think the RDTA airflow could be improved, I can only give me sincere compliments to Geekvape on this one really! I think this also closes the ‘Boost chapter’, it is hard to create a better Boost than this one, maybe one more thing that could be done is a 21700 Boost Pro, but that would make it a large pod-mod.

For who is this device? Not for the MTL-ers in my opinion, too much airflow for that. But if you are looking for an RDL/DTL Pod-mod that is reliable, then this one is a very strong option. It all depends on personal preference of course.

The Pro kit costs 48$ on the official Geekvape store and the RDTA 21$, so to get the kit and RDTA it would cost you around 69$, quite an investment, but if you like single coil high wattage vaping it is in my opinion a good investment. Of course you can get it cheaper on other websites as well, and the price will drop overtime. Adapter costs 4$ which is cheap, but I really wish they will release an all in one box including all of it at a cheaper price.

When turning on the device you straight away see the difference, the UI is totally new for an Aegis, just the intro with the Geekvape writing changing colors already is new. I really like the simple looks of this UI, I just wish the battery icon was a bit bigger, maybe even stretched in bars over the whole top bar of the screen. Nice add-on is that you can switch the UI between 6 different colors. It works the same as any Aegis really;
