I am..............but some of these gusts are pushing the trees way down............and I am on the 4th floor.......

8/29 - 2: You have told me to breath and relax, do so yourself. The trees that are to be left will be there. You will have some cool relief tonight. Stay safe though, love you blue.8/29 #4 (long rule).............
I would close the windows......but it's still so hot.....it's 70 degrees and going to get hotter.....even with the wind....
Like I said if the power does go out I will not be able to stay on.............and with the drought conditions I am sure the trees will be falling over like toothpicks around here.............
8/29 -3: It has been a tough week, with so many having trouble. Uncle is safe, so shall be you. I am going to take a nap after the taxing course; and when I come back on-line you will see that you are safe. One thing that I have been able to see is nature, a gift if you will. Breath, relax; you are going to be fine.8/29 #6
Thank you Tigg.............I appreciate you and all of my Treefam............I am sure I will be fine.....it's just a little unnerving at the time..........but it's getting darker by the minute........so I shall close up and unplug all my devices for now...just in case.......I'll be back.....................
We moved to Alabama November 2005 and went all along the coast...there was still so much destruction...these pictures remind me of how horrified and heart broken I was for the whole region8/29
2. So today is the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina...most people think that Katrina hit New Orleans, and while I don't want to take anything away from them, as it is my second home, it did NOT actually hit there. We on the Mississippi Coast suffered the full brunt of the storm as she made landfall here on that terrible day 10 years ago. The aftermath was horrible and many of us here lost everything. Not only did homes flood here, but they were actually wiped totally away. It was like walking through the aftermath of an explosion. To this day we are still rebuilding here. Yes we are coming back, but is has been a long, slow process for many!
Some pics of the aftermath...
All of our bridges that connected us to other cities on the coast were washed away...
This was a casino that ended up 2 miles away from where it originally was!
The typical devastation that was seen for miles no matter where you went...
It sounds like your weather today is the same sort we had on Monday: rain in the morning, heat in the afternoon. It stopped raining around 8am and the sun came out. It's gunna be a surprisingly warm day.
Yeah that's true...that's why I wanted to say something so others would know that others were greatly affected as well. I lived through and worked in those devastated areas for a couple of years after the storm...was very heartbreaking and backbreaking work rebuilding. But we, along with those in New Orleans, have made the best of it and are all making a wonderful comeback!@angelphyre I think many people forget or don't know much about what happened on the coast in MS during that time. They only think of New Orleans because that's pretty much all that's ever shown on tv.
I'm sorry for those that were affected by Katrina, but at the time I really didn't pay much attention to it, since that was the week that my father passed away in the hospital.I think many people forget or don't know much about what happened on the coast in MS during that time. They only think of New Orleans because that's pretty much all that's ever shown on tv.
I knew about it , No more counted posts until blue is back with us8/29
