hi all. I just built a series box with 2 18650 batteries. I'm using a mosfet chip and 14gauge wire. This isn't my first time building. More like the tenth time. But last night I took the batteries out of the box and around the positive and negative post they were starting to turn white. MOSFET chip is fine not burnt or melted. Not sure what the issue is if any. Can anyone give some advise?? Are the batteries just bad? Is this an early sign of danger? The batteries are holding a charge as well.

I hope somebody comes along to answer, but I certainly would NOT be using those batteries for anything. They need to go to recycling bin.
My first guess, the efests are all rewraps, it's a gamble on what you get. I wouldn't trust those batteries any more.
