I was at Graceland, but only the grounds, years ago, before they made the inside open to the public.Now i'd rather see the Sun Studios where he recorded a song for his mama.

I'm not trusting my truck for a major trip like this. Factory things are wearing out on it & having to be replaced. To be expected at 17 years old with nary a problem till I retired tho. And only 93K miles on a '98!

Would you trust it to San Antonio .. ??

Misswish..I'm sure there's gonna be tons of pics and videos, both short spurts and long ones , that will be posted almost as soon as they're taken,so that you and everyone can enjoy the occasion, if only vicariously!

I just asked her in the h/o she said no. She trusts it in her area, cuz her ins will pay to tow it home if it poops out on her.

Keep in mind the Memphis epicenter is simply an alternative .. nothing is set in stone .. it may sound blunt, however, with some exception, I thought we would get a greater "We'll stay at the Same Location with You Guys" response from our friends in The Great State of Florida, Johnny and Matt notwithstanding ..

Again, the initial idea centered on my speculation that a large portion of our contingent was located in Florida and would be willing to commit to cost share on lodging .. at my count, so far, I have Johnny and Matt .. each committing to cost share an equal portion of the week whether they stay the whole week or not ..

Also, no one has to stay the whole week .. what we are looking for is numbers .. example : say, $2000 / week rent / 15 people cost share / $133.00 a head .. stay a day, stay 3 days, stay the whole week, no matter .. it's $133.00 a head .. example only, of course ..

Makes sense to me. Count us in on that. Besides, a night or 2 at a motel would cost that much so it sounds like a good deal.

No. I need to keep it close enough to home that I can have it towed if I need to. I can't afford to get away somewhere & it break down. Like I said, it was a great truck till I retired & factory stuff started going out on it.

I haven't put myself on the spreadsheet yet because FL would nor be possible for me for both time and financial reasons as I mentioned in the HO last night. Springtime and a more central location such as Memphis would be a game changer. When I ran the idea past Mr C this afternoon he said that it might indeed be doable. If the location decided on makes it possible for me to go, I'm in.

Arrrrgh! Didn't make the porch last night. Had a lot going on yesterday and then we got involved in culling through tons of Miles photos for the family. Anyway, what I was thinking yesterday was that some are in favor of Memphis and some for Bradenton. Are there enough people to do both? Just a thought.

LOL....I think the issue is getting enough people to pitch in to make just one of them affordable and convenient to all....

Yeah, I get it. Just didn't know how many were interested in Memphis. At either one there's going to be someone who couldn't make it. Maybe we need to just choose 1 and do the other one in the fall or the following Spring? They don't have to be at the same time.

I've been involved in coordinating events for groups of people and it can be VERY frustrating! God bless Willie for trying to get this together.

I too will have to settle for photos and videos This is such a wonderful idea.
