I am wondering if I should buy a subtank mini with temp coils and say to hell with building with nickel

I just received a pack of five NI occ coils yesterday, and after playing around with the temp and J settings, I'm now getting an amazing vap! GREAT vapor production and flavor!

If these coils last as well as others say they will, I'm really thrilled! Using them on the Kanger Sub tank mini.

The gravity sensor is backwards! So when I want to increase wattage/Joules I have to tilt to the Left, and to decrease I have to tilt to the right. I was just wondering if this is normal?

That's how mine works, as well, and I'm sure that's how they all work.

You can also use the up/down buttons to change settings, if you'd prefer.....

I've observed this as well. In temp control mode, I leave mine on standard. In the PBusardo review video it shows there being less voltage applied in powerful, and even less still in powerful+ during the first 2 seconds in temp control mode. Doesn't make much sense. In standard it ramps up to the proper voltage within the first second and stays steady. Looks like the powerful/powerful+ modes don't work as intended in TC, at least with the current firmware revision.

TC doesn't work solely as a matter of voltage, but also as a function of modulation. Thus, Powerful and Powerful+ may increase the amount of energy provided to the coil as a function of both voltage and modulation. No one though has looked into the scope data to determine if this case.

Cool! What resistance reading you getting on the SX and what temp and J setting you using??

Have used the same coils consistently and still enjoying them. Have used almost 20 and only "bobble" was a resistance shift due to a dirty 510 connector.

As you know, my experience has been the exact opposite! :(

I'll modify that actually, I do have one in a nano on a dna40 clone that is goind reasonably well. ).13 ohm with 450F and 20J or so...Four others not so successful...yet!!

Yea I did a closer look and the numbers don't come in where they should IMO when in joule mode on mine similar to Pbusardo's. For Soft mode I'm getting about 58% power on the initial 2 sec signal, Powerful is about 74% and Powerful+ is about 76%. The numbers were from roughly the first 3 sec prior to TL being engaged with the same frequency. I've sent an email to Varitube and Yihi for an explanation.

Forgot to mention.... I'm using the ST nano also....that may be a factor (?)...as opposed to success in a ST mini/ST full size, etc. I have read many posts on all types of ST's using this coil...

Have you only tried it on DNA 40 clones? That may be your issue

I get a slight pulsing sound and feeling as soon as I hit temp. It's always very evident to me when it hits temp because of that. And I've tried about 7 or 8 builds now - all only on an Origen dripper. That's not what you've experienced? Odd

No I don't until my tank is empty. I'm setting up very similar to how JimmyScott0 posted earlier in the thread. You might give it a try and see what you think. Might have something to do with different atty's as well some more like an echo chamber than others. SXmini M Class (TEMP CONTROL) | Page 115 | E-Cigarette Forum

you are on a DNA40 though right? My main problem is the behaviour on the SX although I still have mixed epxerience on both devices. I may very possibly have a bum batch of course. QC fails sometimes. These things are assembled manually and people have off days, particular;y with tedious repetitive tasks like coiling a subtank head 1500 times a day...

Well that makes me sad [emoji17]. What drippers do you recommend for nickel? Or should I just get a subtank? Lol

Marquis dripper. Hands down. Ni200 duals are pain on any atty (for me at least), but the included building rods that lock into place ensure that you don't have long legs and both builds are consistent. I still prefer single coils for ease and a bit cooler vape, but this build never went above 450° at 40j with the airflow wide open (2.5mm, same as the widest on the Origen v3). I believe it ohmed at .068.

Actually, those heads are mostly machine made these days. Watch the Busardo China trip videos to see them in action at the Kanger plant.

Ok! I missed that bit. Ill check it out again...anyway, maybe the machine had a bad day!!
ps. Im glad about that. Feel less guilty about using the damn things now :)

Still having trouble with the Origen. Working a lot better with a single coil build with 28g on ⅛" bit but it's much cooler than I prefer. I need to figure out dual coils. Have you had success with duals on an Origen? If so, what gauge, wraps, etc?

The guy earlier said temp control sucked on the Marquis. You've restored my hope. What gauge is that build?
