I got the rocket RTA's in today.

I definitely appreciate the thought behind someone here PIFing them to me and am very grateful for that.

That being said, the Rockets themselves were utter crap.

I wasnt able to take one completely apart because the threads were stuck, so I stuck it in the freezer.

When I got it out I twisted on it and broke the plastic tank rather than the threads budging.

One down.

So then i start to build the other one

I do 9 wraps of 32 gauge kanthal and Im reading .08 ohms. It wont fire on my Provari. More on that later.

So I go to the local Brick and Mortar and get them to help me.

The owner sells me some 28 gauge kanthal then wraps the coil in a jig.

He gets the deck all built.

Second Rocket wont fire....he checks it over and we find that the center post is screwed in too tight and isnt making good contact with either of our mods. .

We loosen the center post so it extends a bit further and it fires on his mod then shorts out because the build deck is wobbling.

Turns out the build deck and the center post are connected. When one works the other doesnt.

Two down.

The good news is I bought a Lemo and I couldnt be happier with it.

This thing has outstanding flavor and adjustable draw which is great for someone coming from carto tanks with tighter pulls.

I'm sorry about the Rockets. I'm not sure what those are.

The Lemo is an excellent tank though.

No worries.

Sometimes it takes a failure to spur us on to something even better.

Tomorrow Im taking my wife to the vape shop and were getting her one as well.

Looks like its gonna be goodbye carto tanks for us. Its been a great three years and they have served admirably but its time to finally move on.

LOLSMH, yeah, it was bad. Nice pool table, though! May as well have one in there, 'cause there's nothing to vape!

We did a good thing with that guy in the Vape Super Center, though! And if you want great Chinese (HOW MUCH?? God, you can't get Chinese in Cleveland for TWICE that price!), go to Bowling Green!

Four channels for two wicks? Thanks (it is as polite as I learned to be)

It can be built a lot of different ways.

1. Like Trolldragon did with single coil and splitting the wick.
2. Single diagonal coil build:
http://www.edenmods.co.uk/tutorials.html

3. Dual coils
4. Single vertical coil, which is how I have all mine at the moment, but I've used all 4 methods, and they all work well.

Do you folks want me to build the Goblin Mini single coil first? Its taking a bath.

I was happy to find a drip tip adaptor in the parts bag. It comes with two glass ones, but I hate seeing glass tips looking icky inside, lol! I'm sure all my tips look like that once I start vaping, but I would rather not see it.

I think when the Rose was designed silica was the wick of choice, the 4 channels make more sense then.

That build was wrapped and wicked out side then mounted in the Rose, those were horrific times.

A single build would be good, that is the only way I would use one. As a dual it is basically just a regular Goblin that you have to fill twice as often... How well does the silicone divider work? The deck is tiny so I would assume you build it then put the silicone on before the final assembly.

Thanks!

I promise you its the best flavor tank you've ever tried :). Its worth the finicky learning curve. When you're sober, check it out. Bad idea to buy stuff when drunk :D You could end up with 10 new things showing up in your mailbox.

That's what I'm thinking. Get the coil on, cut the leads and probably wick, too. Then put the divider on. It IS a tiny deck. Will require reading glasses.

I don't think you will get a 3mm coil in their either, 2.5 is probably the biggest it will take. Also watch the chimney top it can interfere with the coil if it is too high.

I love how you start with a pile of wick and end up with these two little wisps going down into the juice channel. The rest is just trimmed close to the coil and resting on the deck.

2.5mm coils are what I use most. May have to go to 2mm, I'll find out. But, I'm a coil surgeon :). I've squeezed some crazy builds into little decks.
