Odd man (woman) out here.

There seems to be a sort of (unspoken) journey amongst vapers and vaperettes... that we must move from pop in coils to recoiling and rewicking our own.

I see both as viable alternatives. Not everyone can or WANTS to RB atomizers. Sometimes the simplicity of the vape is more highly valued than the dollars saved.

Other times, the joy of creating exactly what we want, manufactured by our own two little hands, is the ultimate.

But not always. I do believe there is no right or wrong answer to the activity, no do I believe that one progresses to a higher level of vape because they roll their own.

I didn't roll my own cigs, either. I gladly paid the man to hand me the perfected carton of smokes.

I prolly SHOULD learn to change the oil in my car..... but I dun wanna. I'm happy to pay someone to do that for me, even tho that is prolly an activity I could learn and could do, and save buckareenos along the way. But no, thank you so much.... no.

I enjoy wrapping coils

sorta therapeutic, or soothing
nice to know you can make something the way YOU WANT and get instant gratification, then change it if you have a mind to... :p

then the big $$ savings is sure nice too...

:D
I'm with you. I love to wrap coils while I'm sitting there watching tv. My hands have to be busy so I'll wrap coils in my preferred ohmage, then put them in a box to be used whenever I want. They all can be used in any RTA or coil head I want. It's either wrap coils or knit socks and gloves. :)

As a diy mechanic I can tell you there is no reason to change the oil your' self; just get the "premium" oil change and not the basic. Back on topic; I use coils and make my own it just depends on my mood.

You dun hafta!

Where you accessorize your vapes - cute, indeed - and find pleasure in that, I build, and find pleasure in that.

Tonight - just to wind down - I built 2 RDAs, and I dusted off, cleaned off, and built the Nectar. Ahhhhh...

But I did not bejewel, bangle, dangle, paint, etch, wrap, or otherwise modify anything.

OK... I'll admit it... The Nectar has a blue tank and a blue drip tip, so I put it on a mod. And, the Snubnose RDA was polished, so I put it on a polished mod... the Wanko is brushed, and it went on a brushed mod...

But that's it...

Yes, I can hear you snickering. The RDA is named the Wanko. When using it I am not wa... ah, never mind...

The Wanko, though, is - naming aside - pretty durn cool. Pop-in "wave" coils that even @Katdarling would (almost) love. Squonk capable, and single coil buildable, too...

ETA: Whaddya know? Nothing got censored :)

ETA Part deuce: I don't change my oil myself, either. In my old truck, I don't have to... I pour the stuff in so fast, it never had a chance to get used up... I should start billing the roads department for oiling the streets for them...

I'm feelin your vibes sister
doing as one wants to enjoy their vape is a cool thing
sometimes (sometimes) I just don't feel like anything so I'll grab a factory coil and pop it in :|
I used to roll my own cigs, but then again I used to change my oil

A momentino of klarifications, please, if you'll all indulge me?

The end of this monologues goes something like this: I pick up a vape. I check to see if there's SOME vliquid in there. I hit it hoping to GAWD that I charged the batt. ;)

I vape. It tastes GOOOD.

Not once do I question whether I built (ha ha, ha ha HA!) the coil or whether some sweet lady or man in China did it for me.

It tastes good. Were I a man...... I'd grunt. (Get out of my head @DPLongo22 ;) )

Yup..you have to want to rebuild or get tired of spending on inconsistent factory heads. Rebuilding isn't for everyone nor is buying new gear. There is some old girls at my wife's work who still vape clearos, watching them suck their eyeballs out and get a little bitty cloud vs me who can hotbox our truck with 2 vapes and not even try hard. The novelty of rebuilding has worn off long ago so its now necessity that I have to sit down and rebuild several subtank RBA's at a time or wash the pile of attys, jars, jugs and funnels I always seem to have. My subtank RBA's were getting funky taste so the other day I had to take about a dozen of them to bits..keeping all those tiny screws from being lost is a feat all in itself, wash and put back together just like the driptip orings that get loose and easily pop out of the atty. Removed too many to count orings from the tips, dropped into a pot of tap hot water and stir, set overnight on a dishcloth and now they snap into place like they were new.

These coils require pulsing and wicking, but beyond that, theyre no more difficult to use than an automotive fuse. Easier installation than screw in coils (which could cross thread or come loose when refilling)

My Wanko, when used with the BF pin, wave coil installed and wicked on a Coppervape BF mod developed a situation where I hit it once and the atty, the mod and the battery all got extremely hot. Never did figure that one out so I don't use it anymore. Anyone want a shot at what happened?

I don't find the price of a box of coils out of my range, and they last me for a long time. Perhaps I've been lucky, but the "bad coil" has been a one off in my experience. :)

Or, pop in a fresh coil when you don't feel like doing vape laundry. ;)

I will only get in rebuilding out of necessity. It would be the height of stupidity for me not to a able to build me own. I will do it kicking and screaming. Not much point in having a freezer full of nic and boxes of stash if I can't vape.

I used to feel tge same way. Buf i did it and very glad i did.

All stock coil heads could dissappear tomorrow and wouldnt affect me a bit.
