I had the same problem. Had to sand them down flat.
Update: I got tired of the tight draw and opened them up on the drill press. There was a distinct drop off in flavor as I went bigger. I like the draw now, but I lost the sweet tones from the bb, now it is a light cocoa. Huge vapor, though. So I guess be careful if you are going to go bigger.View attachment 372033

Yeah, to me, the draw on the RM3 (like the RM2) is part of the flavour characteristics that this atty puts out. I haven't drilled out the air holes for a look see myself, so thanks for posting your findings. If I want an airier draw, the RM4 is outstanding.

Bazinga! This is what I've found - the same vape characteristics as the RM2, with the burst of vapor from the dual coils.

Glad it's working out for you.

Well. I can see why it's well liked. It sure does create impressive flavor even running it pretty hot. I'm probably going to bump up the ohms farther than most folks would. - I ran it at .7 Friday night and all day Saturday. I decided I'll probably move that up to .9 with 1.8 ohm coils... but before I do that, I thought I'd give it a try around the range others seem to be enjoying. I did some 1.1's this morning for .55. I also wrapped them on a smaller shaft than I usually use (the screw I usually use is probably 2.75 or 2.8mm - the one I used for these is 2mm). .55 is hotter than I care for these days, but the flavor remains excellent.

And, if I were going to run it this hot permanently, I'd be patting myself on the back right about now for my recent decision to switch to unflavored. I couldn't afford my previous juice like this. I'm about 9 hours in to what will probably be an 18 or 19 hour day, and I have about a ml left in my REO. My ~6ml a day habit would easily become a ~10ml or more a day habit with this atty set up this way.

Yep - it gets hemi-like gas mileage with the lower resistance, to be sure (they all do, pretty much with duals). The heat thing is interesting. You have me thinking, so I'm going to try a build with higher resistance tonight. I just chase flavour, so if I can get it at higher ohmage, I'd be happy with that.

Update: swapped the battery for a fresh one, and got 50% of the flavor back. .05 ohms, huge clouds, good flavor, I can't complain. This thing kicks a''s it just gets hot. I need an insulated drip tip!

Yeah, I used to be good with a bat down to 3.6V or so with the RM2. Now, I can tell when it hits 3.8 with the RM3 very distinctly and it's time for a new bat.

I wish I had read this thread earlier! I have been having the same discovery with the dual coil RM3... Definitely superior flavour to the RM4, no doubt on that - but I'm quite surprised at the clouds it still puts out. I'm sure the RM4 has more cloud potential, but at my current 'go to' resistance of about .5ohms - the slightly reduced cloud is such a small compromise compared to the flavour... its hard to call it a compromise, but more of a clear winner when you consider the flavour difference. Keep in mind that this is at my go to setup, and I may not have quite mastered the RM4, and perhaps stumbled onto a mastery setup of the RM3... But this is enough for me to say that the RM3 shouldn't be quite so overlooked when deciding on your next atty!

This is an old thread but hoping someone will see this question (plus I'm too embarrassed to throw it out there in a new thread ) If I wanted to try a single coil in the RM3, do I have to remove the extra screw out or can it just stay in the atty, screwed down? LOL I seriously don't know

I'm still going to try and perfect a dual coil in this thing, but my wire keeps snapping off (I need to use a nail file and sand that sucker down) and with one of my post holes crooked, its just been a bear to do a dual.

Yes, AngiBe, you can just leave the screw in the unused post. I've gone back and forth with duals and singles in my A6 (RM3) and come back to the flavor, heat and vapor of the single. Actually, my best coil to date is a twisted 30ga parallel single @.7ohm huge everything in this tiny BFRDA.

thank you!!!! I felt like an idiot asking but really wanted to try a single coil in it. And no fancy twists for me. I'm lucky to do a good old fashion regular single coil

Love it when a plan comes together. Glad you got your atty dialled in, Angi.

Lolol...you hooked me up well. Thank you for all the info and help!!! I've come to the conclusion that this size up to maybe 19mm is what I like. Tighter draws, warmer vapes and loads of flavor. And when I get lots of vapor...its a real bonus. This RM3 with a single coil is hitting it all for me along with the RM2. Both REOs are rockin, making me a happy gal

Single coil on the RM3 @ .50Ω. Nice warm vape!!!! Thanks again for the tips! Also, had to file down two screws cuz it still was snapping off my wires. Now...alls good

I use my dual coil as a single myself . I have never run a dual on it couldn't see the point its awesome with a single coil
What are your specs for the single coils. I can't top the duals and it even makes me bored with the rm2.
