I already have a provari and a vv box mod so if I was looking to get another vv device right now I would get a darwin. Not because 1 is better than the other because IMO they are both equally good. I would get the darwin just cause I like gadgets and I already have a provari. Personally I am happy with just my provari and a madvapes vv box mod as backup. I am waiting on the next evolution in pv's before dropping the big bucks. I see no reason to get another pv that isn't any better than I have now. :2c:

+1 to Ambientech's Statement, They are both very different however they are Equally impressive both in operation as well as customer service. I have a Provari myself and see absolutely no other reason to get a Darwin other than the fact that I like Gadgets :D

Nate aka Darth Vapor

P.S, I too will be getting one of the Blue LED Provari's as well so I can retire the Black Textured one I have because it is stll in great shape and I want to keep it that way because they do not make this model anymore :(

You've already got a Provari, you know what it's like. Get a Darwin and if you don't like you can sell it to get enough or more than enough to fully fund a Provari, win win situation.

Even though we might see a return to the blue led in the future I think I might just get a blue led provari sell my red one and then get a Darwin... Win win win situation... Mr. Sheen would be proud.....

Xking.....I seem to recall you were offered a full refund and you could have sent it in for repair/replacement (2 year warrantee)
Buzz pro or infinity pro by notcigs 14 hour battery life. I think the bp is 130$ and ipro is 100$ both reliable and vv. I owned.a.darwin it degraded and eventually malfunctioned . I own a provari now and buzz pro I highly recommend it as a secondary

I just went through this issue. I have had a ProVari for about a month and was looking for the next VV. When I asked this question on the Darwin thread and recieved much information and support. (note: no one of these guy's slamed the Pro) My take is this, I have only had the Darwin for 3 days so this is a pre- idea :) I love this thing, I am vaping at 7.5 volts and it really wakes up my juice.I have had great battery life and the feel is really good in my hands. I have had the ProVari roll away from me in the car and the Darwin stays in place. When I made the call to purchase one I also know that if was not for me I could sell it for very little loss. I have the blue screen one and I can tell you I am very pleased. That is my :2c: Good luck

The ProVari and the Darwin are top mods......many Darwin owners also have ProVari's .....my preference is the Darwin....

Edit: I might add that the ProVari is a Variable Voltage mod and the Darwin is a Variable Wattage mod...good luck on choosing your mod....enjoy whichever you choose...

all vv mods will vary the wattage...when the voltage changes so do the watts....power is definied at the rate of the work....depending on resistance...ohms law... to increase voltage without increasing wattage requires current or resistance to magically decrease when voltage increases...
this isnt something i learned from ecig forums, im an electrician and its basic theory

To the OP, in case you are getting confused.......

The ProVari allows you to set the voltage and it maintains that voltage. The Darwin allows you to set the wattage and it maintains the wattage. The Darwin will automatically adjust the voltage to maintain the wattage you have set.

There are alot of Variable voltage devices, the ProVari being a very good one, and there is only one Variable wattage device, the Darwin.

ok fine, but the wattage still changes on any vv device though, its being varied on the provari too its just not determined by it, when im happy with a pv, reliablity and life span of the device is my main factor in choosing a pv, vv is great but a 100% mechanical mod will be more reliable when choosing a secondary device.....good old murpheys law proved itself to me acouple months ago when my main device and my backup kicked the bucket within a few days and i found myself using an old box mod for a week while waiting for my provari to come in the mail. all i had left was this plastic box mod and i found out that it was having issues too, if i didnt turn it off the main switch everytime i used it it would remain on...the atty got so hot it melted the unit into goey plastic it eventually cooled down and hardened again but it happened twice i was about to be left with no device if i wasnt careful about flipping the swich off when i was done vaping it...and btw for future reference, as far as the whole evolv thing and my issue it is neither here nor there, if my experience happened to you how would you feel about it as a review...theres a lot of good mods out there just because two have rave reviews doesnt mean an individual would find it appealing, now a days people may not be looking to spend over 150 bucks on a unit, ive seen ads lately for non-ego starter kits (sparkplug v3 for example) for 25 bucks, etc.

If your "experience" happend to me, you ask what I would do? I would have sent it in for repair/replacement, OR took the full refund you were offered. I would not have taken the approach you took....you asked, so that is my response...

And for future reference....Why did you not take advantage of the warrantee and why did you not take the full refund offer?

I bought a second device just recently. I already had a Darwin and really love it, but I felt like I better have a backup in case something happens and I need to send it in for repair or whatever. The Provari was definately on my short list, along with the GLV3. In the end I decided to go with a second Darwin. It was form factor more than anything. I know I get great performance from the Darwin, but I assumed I would get great performance from the Provari as well. The form factor is what got me. It may seem a little strange to people who haven't held one, but it is a very comfortable and ergonomic design. Very pocketable and doesn't roll. The only drawback is using tanks, where the arm can't be closed unless the tank is removed or you use a gooseneck. It's never been an issue for me though, and the positives far outweigh the negatives for me.

Good luck on your search!
