18650 3-4.2 volts. why my mod say 6 max

not sure if this is the right section. but everyone in here knows a lot more than the average vaper! how does my mod say 6 volts on the display but the max voltage that the battery has when fully charged (18650) is apparently 4.2 volts??? does the circuit board have a transformer on it? or is this just a facade??

You must have it set to run at 6 volts. It must have a boost driver.

it says lavatube on the box but i'm sure its a cheap clone..... VV only ... VW would have been better I switch coils all the time. what exactly is a boost driver????

The electronic circuitry in the device can take the supplied voltage from the battery and vary the output voltage supplied to the atomizing device. However, if the current limit of the circuit is exceeded as when you set it for voltage like when combined with a lower resistance atomizer..most of the cheaper deviced will lie...they will actually drive at a lower voltage. At any rate...yes a device with a 4 volt battery can output more than 4 volts.
