Tully,
Thank you very much for your kind words. All of you for that matter.
I also cant say this enough, this was rusalka's baby. I just stepped in to get it off the ground. I was looking for a way to express my gratitude towards this community as a whole, and I came across this thread and it was a no brainer for me to take over. I've seen a lot of bickering lately over the classifieds and the new e liquid association. I felt it was due time we get back to what we are all about. People helping people. I approach several strangers every day who are smoking and I blow clouds of vapor around them and I proceed to give them a card and briefly tell them my success story. Well this was my way of helping this community directly.
Almost every member gave extra money. It turns out that it was necessary. 2lbs of the 30 is the same price as 3 lbs of 28. (thinner wire, it makes no sense) Also we had a few members who either couldn't afford the money or didn't have PP. So I was able to just say, you know what we have a surplus, so don't worry about it we've got you covered.

This first round went quite well considering we threw everyone for a loop by changing the process around. We've got it locked down now, and it will be smooth sailing from here on out.
I've got 1 lb of 28 coming Tue, and 2 lbs of 30 coming mid/end next week. So I'm thinking anyone that already got wire, can get 50' of the 30 ga. and anyone that hasn't got anything can get 100' of the 28 till it runs out. Then we will go from there.
Hows that sound?

Thanks,
Ken

This situation has tugged on me quite a bit. I don't know why, but following and reading through this entire thread, I just have this need to express my personal thoughts.

In a world spinning at a million miles per hour, this simple kind neighborly gesture has given me a awesome pause of the 'warm fuzzies", and a renewed faith in our fine people in this great country and community.

Having been around the block so to speak , I am very moved by the unselfish generousity playing out here. As a pragmatist, I have always felt, "Get on" ... "Get off"... or, "Get out of the way". Or simply ... just "Pay it forward" with what you are able to contribute, as this is a good thing for everyones heart.

I feel a persons true character is defined when no one is looking, and on a personal level we all live by these actions and choices. Soooo, to appreciate what is happpening here ... All I can say is ... "Choose well my friends!" And thank you again to rusalka and kwalka for their thoughtful kindness that is mutually appreciated! Well done!

Sorry ... I'm done now, and thanks for everyones time and read, now, back to our normal scheduled broadcasting, ... "As the spool turns!", " Wire of fortune!", and "Two and a Half Pounds of Kanthal" :D

Hey all.
I just left the post office. Anybody on the first list marked shipped, is shipped.
The reserve list will be processed starting Tue wen the 1lb of 28 arrives. The reserves will get 100ft of 28. Then we will have a new list up in the next day or two for the 30. All 30 packages will consist of 50 ft.
Due to the higher cost and the fact that there will be a lot of repeat members.

Now, I have been switching all my gennys over to the 28 and I love it. It has completely removed the need for VV. A 1ohm coil with just a mechanical mod running just a 3.7v batt, is hitting like a truch.
Finally my last observation is that this thick wire is much easier to control the hotspots and shorts. Just need to take care when wrapping coils bacause its very easy to overtighten when wrapping.

I just typed all that on my pnone w fat fingers. ;>)

Kwalka,

Will that list be on this thread or will a new one be started?

Also, how many wraps did it take for a 1ohm? I was thinking of trying for a 1.5 or so when mine comes in. With 32 I usually wrap a 2.5 ohm with a 5/6 wrap.

I think for the sake of not adding any more changes to the jumbled start we had, that it will be right here. :)

It took a 3/4 wrap for a .9Ω coil. Which is exactly the same as a braided 32 4/5 coil.

Sanjosse is working on the new list/sheet this weekend, so it should be up by monday. It will have a place for repeat members, then the rest wil basically be the same as the other.

Sounds good, thank you.

Also wanted to see the coil just arrived in the mail. May wait till tomorrow to wrap, thanks again.
