Hi all.
I used to smoke a pack of Peter Stuyvesant per day.
Nowadays I vape between 25 and 30mg nic salt.
I vape quite a bit, I vape about 60ml of 30mg nic salt in a month.
I was just wondering if there is a way to tell if I am now consuming more nicotine than when I was smoking?

The vaping doesn't really have any side effects, except for the odd cotton mouth, but easily sorted with enough water.
Any advice/wisdom would be highly appreciated.

Cigarettes usually containe 10-12 mg each. One pack of 20 would then contain 200mg and 1 ppd would contain 6000mg. You are vaping 1800mg in one month. Keep in mind these numbers are the amount consumed in a month, not the amount absorbed. For instance, of the 10-12mg in a cigarette, the adsorption is 1.0-1.8mg of nicotine. The amount absorbed by vaping varies a lot by the device and how you inhale.

Keep in mind when vaping nic is absorbed through the mucus membranes in mouth and nostrils, therefore a slower delivery vs smoking a cigarette which is absorbed in the lungs equals faster delivery. This why many of us vaper's chain vape more than when smoking. Also vaping doesn't have the nasty chemicals that are added to tobacco leaf; those are 100 fold more addictive than the tobacco itself. Technically nicotine is no more addictive than say caffeine in the long run. Each when quitting is out of your system within 3 days. Habit and hand to mouth experience is imo the addictive side that is much harder to conquer.

This very true for me. I've been down to zero nicotine in my juice for about five months now, and I'm still just as addicted to vaping as I ever was.

When I have tried to quit vaping before I never felt like it was the nicotine that I craved. It was the grabbing of the vape while I am working (work from home) at my computer going over an application issue that I am trying to solve.

I was never a smoker (other than pipe smoking for about 3 yrs before I started vaping) so my system has never had a lot of nicotine in it. I even tried that FUM essential oil thing thinking it might be the habit of having something to hit on. But I soon realized it is more the exhaling of the vapor and watching it move away from me. Now the nic hit is certainly there (especially first thing in the morning), but I think is the habit of actually vaping and enjoying the cloud the most for me.
